The Philadelphia Inquirer writes about Matt Barkley battling and possibly losing to Tim Tebow for the Eagles’ final QB spot.
Excerpt: “The reason Barkley did not thrive here is not because he isn’t mobile. (Chip) Kelly has clearly shown that he can win without multipurpose quarterbacks. Barkley’s problems have stemmed from a lack of arm strength. At first, it was the shoulder. But even the marginal power he has gained over the last two years hasn’t offset the fact that he doesn’t do one thing great.”
not to mention the fact Tim Tebow is FAR more pious than the Pious Passer. Tebow is so pure of heart and genuine, he makes MB7 look like Justin Duggar.
GO TIM!!
#WhatWouldTebowDo?
ps: thanks for the GUMBALL, wolfman!!
When was the last time you completed a pass in an NCAA game chucky poo?
Brittle Barkley loses his bench spot to a QB who can’t throw a pass.
the kid was a great USC QB, and you have probs with that of course.
Yes Ray, Barkley was electrifying during the “Unfinished Bidness” season.
Your “schtick” is so tiring. That is why you are called a TROLL.
go post on UCLA forums where you won’t be a TROLL.
Too bad……now he won’t be able to throw passes to Freddie “People’s Champion” Mitchell. Whatever happened to him anyway?
I doan’t know Wan, but while you’re looking for ?Freddie, let the blog know where Dillon Baxter is.
Is Baxter locked up too?
I doan’t know. That’s your job Wan. Hubba hubba.
I buy it. But I also hear Tebow hasn’t looked good.
That would be great if Chip drops Matt. Matt needs to escape Philly and get to a team that has a pro style offense. It’s still not too late for him.
I agree. He has to find his way onto a team that only runs a pro style.
yes, yes it is.
I guess Chip Kelly doesn’t know an outlier when he sees one.
This s Tebow’s 3rd stop (DEN, NYJ) – having him on the roster draws viewers way beyond the normal demographic – old ladies and kids. The problem is regardless of his commitment he eventually becomes a distraction.
If Barkley had any real talent this wouldn’t have even happened.
Scott, not doing one thing great hasn’t seemed to hurt you much right?
Careful Ken, I just noticed I had half a dozen innocuous comments like this deleted my the mod. Apparently trolls can call people names, be vulgar and badmouth anyone, but if you use the word “Scott” in a post you’ll get banned. Unfortunately, the new comment “policy” put in place several weeks ago seems to have gone by the wayside unless it applies to the use of the word “Scott.”
I get it, there is interest in MB, but there was a bigger story yesterday. Rasheem Green is cleared to play and will see the field Saturday. Reports are he looks great in the #94. He’s one tough kid. He played last season with the knee injury and earned a 5* rating. Reports are his pad level is good he plays with a “nasty attitude” and has a motor that is special. If he can develop quickly he makes the D line much better.
Great news.
Barkley’s future was very promising when he landed at USC and got the nod to start at QB at the end of PC’s presence but then had to go thru the turmoil of the sanctions and Kiffin’s mismanagement. And even then if he had left at the end of his Junior year, he was considered a lock as a 1st round pick in the draft. But a year later who would have thought the NFL team that drafted him was Philly being coached by Chip Kelly running a variation of the Oregon offense that includes the QB scurrying around and even run the ball? Barkley was never trained to do this in highschool or college. If Barkley does leave, let’s hope he gets a chance with a pro-set team where his talents are better suited.
He should not even be on that team, the offense does not suit him at all..
Let’s put it this way, if Matt Barkley gets cut he will be picked up by another team, but If Tim Tebow gets cut his career is over, because nobody will pick him up. So I will be shocked if Chip Kelly releases Barkley.
I hope they trade Matt to some team that will give him a chance.
