The Will Ferrell Curse?

FERRELL.STANFORDPhoto/Maya Dondonyan

Let’s see, Will Ferrell attended the Boston College game. A loss. And he attended the Stanford game. A loss. That’s an official trend. And he should probably be banned for wearing a USC jersey with his name on the back, even if it was given to him.

  1. “….he should probably be banned for wearing a USC jersey with his name on the back…….” …..How about banning a USC beat writer for writing …… oh, never mind…….

      • No, we would have probably hired Chris Petersen, James Franklin or Kevin Sumlin, instead….

        • Are you trying to say those coaches are better than Sark? If so, you really need your head checked. Unless you are really a Notre Dame internet troll???? Please stop trying to come over to the Trojan blog and stir up trouble. Get lost troll!!!!!!! FIGHT ON.

          • No, that is absolutely not what I am saying…..if you have followed this blog for any length of time, you would know that Scott was lobbying heavily for any one of these characters to be hired as USC’s next head coach, after Kiffin was given his walking papers on a bus at LAX…..and I am not a troll…..SAS, Jack, Jethro, Helen, Peter, heck, even Bucket, can vouch for me….please don’t overreact…

          • I’m not sure if I believe you. Your trolling comments against Sark has me thinking your a Bruin fan at heart.

          • I just get tired of people spouting out unrealistic expectations. With all of the sanctions, Divorce, and Alcoholism issues 7-6 or 8-5 seems way more reasonable. Sark just needs time.

          • I hear you. I’m on the edge since witnessing that Stanford game in person, but we have a lot of games left and we still have a shot. Things can get on track if Wilcox makes adjustments and actually plays the best players.

          • I agree, but the Pac 12 have some very talented Head coaches , who can beat Sark on any given day. Gary Anderson is up at Oregon state, and is a fantastic competitor. The problem is , he’s not quite the talent wise . Sonny Dykes is only a year away up at Cal . So the competition is thick .

          • Thanks for the 4-1-1……I was MIA from this blog for a short while, so I’m still sorting out some these new faces around here….

          • Hell, don’t apologize to Nick! You don’t have to explain crap to him about what you feel or what you write or where you’re coming from!
(Besides, haven’t you noticed how much fun Nick is having)?

        • Sark is a solid 8-5 coach in a very difficult Pac 12. Peterson was successful in a very weak conference, Franklin is falling apart, and Sumlin is getting kicked around by every other SEC team. We all need to realize its Sarks team now. Remember 8-5 gets us in a really cool bowl game. Stop trolling Bruin fan.

          • I’m not a boy and I’m not at home so I don’t understand what your going for. But its nice to know someone else besides me believes in a winner like Sark. Fight On!

          • Your excessively serious “persona” and corresponding screen name lead me to believe that you’re one of Bucket’s alter egos……

          • Because I’m a Sark fan doesnt mean I’m a troll. I’m an understanding Trojan fan who knows what rebuilding looks like. The glory days may look like they are in the rear view mirror but keep in mind we did win a bowl game last year and I’m ready for another one.

          • Your expectations had better be much greater than 8-5, or else YOU’RE the troll around here, pally…..

          • How dare you. If you were the Coach and saw the huge mountain to climb that is our beloved Trojans 8-5 would be a solid start. How can we expect a 7-6 coach to realistically win the Pac 12 it takes time. I believe in Sarknado you obviously just want to see the program fall apart. Typical Troll.

          • Don’t be a drama queen…..your sarcasm laced comments and insincere “support” of Sark doesn’t fool me for a second….try again

        • Any Boise State head coach would be questionable to me, because the usually fall on their faces at their next gig. Bu the others mentioned would have succeeded .

          • I remember reports saying Sumlin wanted the job, but was annoyed when Haden never offered. Franklin I’m not sure would really make a difference. He just got beat down by Temple.

          • Greg Roman’s agent informed Pat Haden his client was interested in the job, but Haden never interviewed him . Now that was mind boggling, because of the type of football Roman coaches.

          • Pat will feel the heat soon if Sark doesn’t turn it around. He’s a likable guy and gets things done around the school, he’s gonna start having the donors calling for his job if this season goes bad.

          • People don’t realize Pat Haden is one of the top 3 highest paid AD’s at just over 2 million dollars.

          • From an economical view he’s probably doing a great job. But Sark and Andy Enfield will wake up the echoes for donors, alumni, and fans who want someone who’ll go and get winners.

          • The issues Pat Haden fails at can be corrected with a few turns of a screwdriver, because he still an asset to the University. Hiring a more experienced athletic administrator that can assist in the hiring of new coaches is a start .

          • And for what it’s worth. Just a rumor, but I remember hearing Harbaugh said he wanted Haden to talk to him about the job.

          • Yes, technically he went from OL/ Run game coordinator to offensive coordinator. When your offered a promotion from another team, your contract is voided ..wink wink. But basically Tim Drevno is the OL coach for Michigan .

          • Well we know what we have with Sark now. I’d trade for one of the others. At least the other three know not to show up drunk as a skunk at a school function.

        • Just one simple difference, none of the named HC’s have appeared at Public/Private Univ. sponsored rallye functions sh*tfaced, and lost to 3 dbl. digit ‘dogs.

      • Please stop flaunting your creativity. Every time you refer to our esteemed coach as borrOcho, I just about krap my knickers.

  2. This is so silly. Nobody really believes in curses do they. We are in a different era now. The Sark era. Its unfair to expect the greatness that seems to be in the distant past. If Sark can lead us to another bowl game thats a win for all of us. Fight On!

    • Be so kind as to not use just half a phrase…It is ‘Fight the **** on’.
Thank you so much…my esteemed USC brother.

  3. was on ABC’s pregame show for the championship against Texas with Matthew McConneghey (sp) too…

      • Yes! I am very nervous about the Dodgers! If they lose to St. Louis in the postseason this year, I am going to go postal. I hate the St. Louis Cardinals, more than I have hated any other team before.

        • LAA came back to beat HOU today 6 – 5 they are 1.5 games out of the wild card and for any real fan just to get into post-season and play for the wild card against NYY – game winner advances

        • The frickin umps, have given the cardinals, and dodgers different strike zones the past two years. If it Happens again this year, I might get a gun!

        • Kershaw and Greinke will have to step it up in the playoffs. They’ve been great all season, but we’re gonna need a little extra out of them because we have nobody behind them on the mound. Our bullpen is unreliable. That’s putting it politely. Hopefully Turner, and Gonzalez can catch fire. A-Gon is due…But Corey Seager looks like the real deal and could be a spark offensively. But yes…I’d love knock the Cardinals out!

          • Kershaw needs to get mean. He let those birds’ lefties dig in against him and swing from the heels (suspected sign stealing as well) he shouldda drilled one or two and loosened them up a bit. I hope he gets them again…you gotta exorcize these demons head on.

            #Payback

          • Yep. I’m glad someone else brought up the sign stealing. Kershaw should’ve drilled Yadier Molina after he had Hanley hit. But we need to play with a mean attitude as you said. We’re too soft.

    • Will’s curse is not as bad as ESPN’s Mike Greenberg, whose presence as Homecoming Grand Marshall sent Northwestern into a six game tailspin.

  4. My prediction for USC is a 8-4 record, can Steve Sarkisian survive with that ? And btw, I was being generous with that record.

    • Are you forgetting our possible win in the 2016 Las Vegas Bowl? If USC is there I’m betting on the Trojans. Viva Las Vegas Bowl. Fred go back to Westwood.

  5. UCLA Star linebacker Miles Jack suffered a knee injury at practice yesterday he had surgery last night and he is out for the season. Hope he recovers fully.

  6. Don’t forget he also represented SC before the Texas game in the pre-game video!!! Texas was represented by Matthew Mcconaughy
