Matt Leinart Weighs In On USC

Here’s what Matt Leinart had to say this morning on the Colin Cowherd show. Cowherd loves to talk about USC (big surprise).

“I want them to establish some type of identity, offensively especially, because I don’t know what they want to be,” Leinart said. “If they lose (to Arizona State), I think he’ll (Steve Sarkisian) be coaching for his job every single week. It’s tough for me to say that, but it’s the reality of this business.”

  1. Wow…two of Scott’s “favorite” people…. he must have been climbing the walls while listening to this interview….

    • Wolfie’s always been jealous of those who have made it big. Both Cowherd and Leinart have made it big compared to Wolfie. It’s not brain surgery.

    • Matt was a great Trojan but I feel like we never really won any of those games since we were cheating the entire time. I am glad we paid the piper but we are now proving to everyone that we can win without cheating. FIGHT ON!

      • Good point. He was part of cheating USC. A past that hurts us all. Something I try to forget. I would remember waking up early and going to every game with my life partner cheering at the top of my lungs. Only later to realize it was only a farce.

Your such a silly goose. Why the hatred and mean spirit. Are you ignoring the fact that we were in the wrong? Clearly the program has learned from this in the hiring of an honest handsome coach like Sark. He’s easy on the eyes making him a great Television coach as well. We are on the right track. Hope you can understand that. Stop being so closed minded. Fight On!

  2. Sark already is coaching for his job every single week. It’ll always be that way now. He’s hanging on by a thread. If his contact were ending at the end of the season, we all know he wouldn’t be back. If Haden gives him any extension, prior to this contract ending, then Haden should be fired.

    • You make a good point. Sark does deserve an extension. He is a proven coach who shouldn’t be looking over his shoulder. We need to lock him up quickly and avoid the pressure of finding someone to step into his shoes.

    • Jack B,

I was wrong about you. I am happy that you are behind Sark and think so highly of him. Isn’t his offense fun to watch? I am sorry we got off on the wrong foot, but trolls like Fred Sampson have me on edge around here. FIGHT ON!

  3. I love how Leinart called Sark inappropriate when he was part of a huge cheating scandal at USC, and is illegally running a non-profit flag football organization and paying his brother 100’s of thousands of dollars from profits earned just to avoid rental fees. Between being a hugely overrated college QB and a known cheater its nice to know we have an honest coach like Sark leading us in the right direction. Cheaters never prosper.

  4. I will be shocked if USC loses to Arizona state, because they will be playing for their lives, and plenty of emotion .But Unfortunately, those types of wins won’t carryover week after week .

  5. If Leinart is saying the offense needs an identity because of its inability to keep possession of the ball on 3rd downs, then OK. But to me it is more crucial to have a defensive attitude in stopping the opponent.
