You act like polls and odds are important at this stage of the season. Let it play out Wolf, this is another dumb thread.
If SC beats Utah, UCLA, Cal, Oregon and Stanford in the Pac-12 Title game, polls won’t matter. They’ll be in the playoff. If they don’t beat all of them, they won’t. Not much to yammer about at this point.
During his radio interview on The Beast, earlier today, this exact scenario was presented to Scott and he refused to buy into the notion that USC would be in playoffs….
And ND. SC needs to beat the Irish. I don’t see a 2 loss SC team (or any 2 loss PAC-12 team) in the playoffs.
There shouldn’t be any rankings, or, if there are, they shouldn’t figure into postseason play.
College football should have a real playoff of conference champs. Then, it would have an actual national champion.
Scott, a football season is a marathon, not a sprint…..there’s no reason for you to overreact about every little thing…..it’s like stressing out about your 401K, on a daily basis!!!…. it’s self-inflicted crazy making…. stop being an alarmist….
I predicted this was going to happen…..

Congratulations. This must be the highlight of your week.
We’re still rolling with the “losing to BYE” BS when Utah skyrocketed up the polls on a bye week?
This season will likely have 8-10 quality teams that should be in a playoff. Only 4 will get picked. The current playoff is better than all the National Champs awarded by polls and the BCS BS, but it still falls short of allowing an adequate participation in a real playoff.
don’t count your chickens before they hatch… we appear to be a very inconsistent team 🙂
That is certainly one possible scenario, and if it were to play out that way, I would say USC would bump out the loser since they would not be participating in the Big Ten Championship game, since this would also mean that USC would avenge their only loss, or beat Oregon, or twice, but they would have to do it in convincing fashion… this is just my opinion…there is a ton of football left to play….and Ohio State is still struggling to live up to their preseason hype
