Classy move. Do you think anyone over at UCLA would do that for one our players?
You did fine with the “classy move” comment. That was enough. It was a classy move. Speaks well of Haden. It also shows that Jack appreciated the nice gesture of Haden by posting it. That’s the way things should be done. Perhaps no digs were in order here.
Us USC guys are used to dealing with hard core Troll imbeciles here, on a USC site, where we don’t think little gutty contributions are worth more than laughter and ridicule 98% of time. Perhaps you could cut us some slack in view of the Troll infestation problems Wolfie has actively cultivated here.
As I have said before, Jack, each side has its idiots. There has been an increasing number of trolls over on Wang’s site as well. It hasn’t reached the proportions over here but they are gaining. At the end of the day it was a classy move by Haden…and I think it was classy of Jack to post it. I have often thought of Jack as a bit out of control and a personal foul magnet. This shows a more thoughtful side away from the field. Good stuff all around.
I’ve never visited Wang’s site but I severely doubt the USC Troll presence there remotely approaches what goes on here. You surely know who the many dedicated ucla Trolls are because they live here like degenerates every day. Since the ASU loss, the ucla Trolls have gonna into a very rare lull – but it won’t last long. Haden’s letter and Jack’s response doesn’t give them much to diddle about.
The SC Trolls have been making a big jump in the last couple of weeks. They really enjoyed the ASU loss. Like I said, nothing like here, but they are on the rise. There are other SC posters over there like Sas and USC Rah Rah that have reasonable discussions with me. None the trolls bother me because I don’t take it too seriously. I am a rabid Bruin as you know, but I do have a life.
Everybody here has a life, even the Trolls. That’s not really the point, not even close. When the little gutty Trolls constantly fling their nonsensical crap about, they harmfully detract from what this board should be whether you think so or not.
As I said earlier, we’re used to a lot of bad actor bruins over here. Since USC’s the team with the great football tradition and the ucla footballers rarely accomplish much, you probably annoy us more, since we’re the team that usually looks down on you.
So, if you want to post here, post with respect. Otherwise, let me know when Guerrero has ever written a well-wishing letter to an injured USC football player. Maybe Haden’s inspired him to put it on his bucket list.
I think if someone just wants to post nonsense on a board they must not have much of a life. There are better things to do with one’s time. And the funny little names are more than a bit juvenile. I have no idea if Guerrero has ever written a letter to an injured Trojan or not. I am not a Guerrero fan. I think he would be far too lazy to put forth the effort.
I have always liked Haden but was surprised at how he handled Kiffin’s firing and the Stanford sideline display. Those things didn’t fit with my image of him. This restores some of my previous opinion of him. It was a classy move.
PU, is it possible Guerrero has written a letter, but he just doesn’t feel compelled to publish the fact?
But PU, what really sticks in my craw is your Beg the Question logic “I think he would be far too lazy to put forth the effort.”
I am not a Guerrero fan. I think he has made very bad hires over the past decade. I think he lucked out with Mora and made a great hire with Savage for baseball. The hire of Howland was a good hire as well. However, the Dorrell, Neuheisel and Alford hirings were poor in my mind. I think there are others in the Athletic Department that do the heavy lifting.
I have been on Wang’s site probably 3 times. And i was there like you said having “reasonable conversations”. To be honest every time I talked to you on INSIDE UCLA i noticed that the “trolls” (not calling you one) on Wolfs site were nowhere to be found on Wang’s board.

As usual Itchy, Toejams, and you in particular, have major issues with stout competition – any competition.
In all the time I’ve Trolled Wolf’s site, nothing you’ve said, not one of your fallow opinions has changed my opinion of Kupcake U.
However, it’s a free country, so I’m the first to defend your right to make a fool of yourself.
Coming from a TROLL who makes a fool of himself all the time.
Who would know more about making a fool of himself than our boy Owns?
So you admit to being a troll? How pathetic your life must be haha.
Since we all know the trolls are never going away, what do you think wold happen if they were ignored, and never acknowledged ?
Oh, I’ve tried that it doesn’t work. They (Thai) won’t go away.
Forget about USC Troll presence over at Wang’s site…. their own fans barely comment over there……and the only guy who seems to stir things up is a clown named Laker Rod who is on this mission to redshirt Rosen and every other UCLA freshman with any kind of potential…..
Laker Rod is a guy that should really consider fantasy football. He could fantasy redshirt everyone, fantasy coach his team and have a fantasy cheerleader girlfriend all out of his mom’s basement. He is worse than a troll because every now and then a troll actually comes up with something funny. Not often mind you, but Laker Rod has no humor and even less knowledge, but he is an expert in his fantasy world.
Funny how UCLA has to eat crow after an embarrassing loss and now their trolls on this site are suddenly trying to be really nice.
You must remember the sole purpose of trolling is to incite. Sometimes it works and they get exactly what they’re after – anger and retaliation.
In the end, the trolls are always the losers, simply by being who they are and doing what they do.
I understand and I can see that it could be funny once in awhile, however it just gets really old, really fast. It’s boring.
Believe me, I am a rabid Bruin fan and I love when UCLA beats SC, but to sit around stirring the pot just gets old quickly. At some point, your team is going to lose and you’d better be prepared to take it as well as give it. It is never good to “woof” at halftime, so to speak. Things change.
I’ll admit that after dealing with the trolls here the idea has popped into my head to go to Wang’s site and give it right back. Then, quickly, I remember I’d be a fool provoking genuine UCLA fans wanting to have a legitimate discussion.
I’ll never be that guy.
I do think a little fun here and there is alright though.
I didn’t see any such gestures when Barr took out Barkley.
This is exactly why Ethical Pat needs an extension to go along with Sarks. Pat and Sark do things the right way. Isn’t it nice that we are not only thought of as lying cheats for once? We are headed in the right direction on all fronts now. FIGHT ON!
Stop pretending to be a Trojan.
USC being USC
SCGrad12 is right – class act by Pat Haden and kudos to Jack for sharing it.
Nice.
But, come on, Pat, we all know SC’s chances of a Trojan win over SUCLA increased with the departure of the ‘Jack of all-Trades.’
That said, this college season is shaping up to be a really competitive one, if not great one. TCU barely survived, OSU was gravely tested, and there just are not any great teams out there.
Translation: there will be some surprises with that “Final-4” verdict, and SC could be one of them
This is why Ken Norton jumped ship a few years back.
Here’s another excuse for Mora to use:
-” We lost our two best players (Jack and Vanderdoes) so I think the other team should not play with their two best players”.
Or
– “Come on, guys. This is UCLA so losing and expecting to lose aré just the norm.”
Ouch – but I liked it
That’s the Pat I know. I guarantee you, it’s a simple sincere gesture and has no other motive. Vanderdoes was never in line for one of these.
Classy move by our Athletic Director. Pat is a kind hearted man. Many thought he was too soft with the NCAA. However there are many appoaches that achieve ones goal.
As much as I dislike UCLA I would want them healthy and at full strength in our head to head competition. I want to beat the best.
The kid is an animal, he will be back – lots of respect to Myles Jack
He’s a 1st rounder IMO. I think his next game will be in an NFL uniform.
Injuries hurt draft stock, but he is a great talent for sure
Not sure how much it hurt Todd Gurley or Willis McGahee, both first rounders, but I get your point…..
Well, that didn’t take long:
“UCLA linebacker Myles Jack will enter the 2016 NFL draft despite suffering a season-ending knee injury, head coach Jim Mora announced Tuesday.”
IMO opinion this was an easy choice. I think even with an injury he’s at least a 2nd round pick. The kid makes plays. I called this one and I’m sure I’m not the only one. I think Eddie Vanderdoes will follow later. The past few years these kids have been leaving to enter the draft no matter how high or low their stock is.
Stand up move by Pat
Those that are so quick to disrespect Haden might want to remember this gesture that was sent without any expectation of notoriety.
Had the pleasure to work with PH on a few transactions when he was at RL&H, classy guy with a great golf game. You should be proud to call him one of your own.
Amazing – A Wolf post completely free of snark.
This one deserved it but so too did many others and he just couldn’t resist.
Kudos to Haden. It’s never the wrong move to act with class.
No. We’re good. I know you weren’t calling me a troll. You’ve been a Bruin fan who can actually be taken seriously on this site. There’s not many bruin fans who frequent this site that can actually be normal and knowledgeable. You are a fan who I will conversate with.
Very classy gesture by Haden. UCLA never sent a letter to Matt Barkley after the cheap shot he took from Anthony Barr. Rather that moment, for them, is the greatest moment in Bruin Football history. But that speaks volumes for what a lame history it is.
Nice move for sure. Myles Jack is the real deal and its too bad neither him or Vanderdoes will likely get to play against us later in November.
I wonder if Myles Jack is the only UCLA Athlete to receive a letter like this , or perhaps he’s the only one who post it ? Because there are quite a few football players over there with injuries . Although is was a classy move by Pat Haden, it will also keep him busy through out the year with other Athletes in other sports .
What’s next?…..will Scott be posting Haden’s Dear Santa letter?……while it may appear to be a bit self serving, since there are numerous players out there with season ending injuries, I think it was a sincere and classy move by Haden…BTW..did Dan Guerrero write a letter to Josh Shaw last year after he suffered a double ankle sprain??? LOL
I’m sure Pat also wrote a sympathy letter to Mora after that loss to ASU.
No question Haden has class. Balls on the other hand…..
Class?!? What do Y’all know about class…
Smoke and mirrors.
Have you looked in the mirror lately?…. is it smokey?
…and they called Neuheisel…Slick Rick.
Who knew?
UCLA linebacker Myles Jack will enter the 2016 NFL draft despite suffering a season-ending knee injury, head coach Jim Mora announced Tuesday.
“He’s taken his chips and he’s shoving them into the middle,” Mora said. “We hope he draws a good hand.”
Haden is so full of himself trying to be a choir boy. Not necessary to
write Jacks a letter knowing full well he is done for the season, and can’t hurt the Trojans in their match up end of November. He is one of the ‘ruins who mouthed off against USC believe last year.
