USC Morning Buzz: What Is The State Of Troy This Morning?

Here is my analysis of last night’s stunning loss at the Coliseum.

Excerpt: “In USC athletic director Pat Haden’s “State of Troy” interview this week, he said, “We also found out that Stanford is a pretty good football team.” Is Washington also a “pretty good football team?”

And don’t forget to see if Colin Cowherd eats crow on his show this morning. He previously embarrassed himself with his blind support for Lane Kiffin and went on that strange rant yesterday defending Steve Sarkisian.

  1. Yes we are 1-2 the last 3 weeks. But did everyone forget we destroyed Idaho and Arkansas St by a combined 114-15. Sark can make it happen he just needs time. We are still in line for a solid 7 win season.

    • Fred N,
These so called “fans” are very negative. We are averaging over 40 points per game. Nothing is good enough. FIGHT ON!

  2. its only a “stunning” loss if you haven’t been paying attention. Sark is not in the top ten of pac-12 coaches….. not one single team USC has faced in the last 1 1/2 years has been out coached, out prepared or out schemed.

USC fans just have to fight on through the Sark era, and hope it is as short as possible.

  3. USC will go 4 and 7 this year and not make a bowl game. The Trojans will beat Arizona and ucla and that’s it.

  4. For a first-time I will agree with Scott. Everything was wrong about the Thursday night game. The team looked as if they were sleep walking after chem midterm. But the holes in coaching were bigger than the arches under the torch.
Sark took the loss in stride saying it was his fault. Then in true Sark fashion blamed the players for their execution. No Sark it was coaching all the way. From the mismanaged clock to the STUPID play calling. We were ripping them with run so let’s try an incomplete pass.
Why go for a three point play when five points were needed? Why not bench an ineffective quarterback if you have a good backup? Why call time out when you might need it later? I would ask what you were thinking but clearly thinking is not your strong suit.

  5. Even the biggest rah-rah fans and former players I know are turning on Sark now. This could get ugly (no pun intended) fast.

  6. Cowherd has little to do with the state of Troy. Right now I hope the players are in a meeting getting their act together and talking about playing up to their ability as a team, IN SPITE OF THE COACHING.

    • Right. I think that Kessler and the team have been carrying this team since Sarkisian blew his mouth off at the ”Salute to Troy”… Sarkisian has been involved in damage control and job saving since. Frankly, I feel sorry for Kessler and the players for having to suffer (yes, suffer) under the poor administration from Haden’s office and the demonstrated incompetence from the coaching staff.

  7. Steve Sarkisian is being outcoached. He is not headcoach material for a top program like a USC. Pat Haden has to own up to this. I think we may see some distance between him & Sark if the team losses again soon.

    • Then it’s on Haden for hiring him – believe me I think Haden is a stand up guy but this mess is all on him – Haden refused to seriously interview any other candidates – he wanted someone he knewhe could control – he did – Sarkisian is his problem is he isn’t in control of his own mind (Sark) and Haden has what to show for this easy and foolish move.

  8. WHERE IS GOLDEN TROJAN ??? WHERE IS YOLO4USC ??? WHERE IS USC RAH RAH’S RULE ?? YOU IDIOTS DEFEND THIS IDIOT OF A COACH, COME ON OUT AND EXPLAIN LAST NIGHT, YOU RAH RAH POM POM WAVING IDIOTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. SARK has never proven that he is better than mediocre. His best season is 9-4 and that looks like a decided reach this year…where the question has become “will the Trojans be bowl eligible?” of course that begs the all important question “Why did Haden hire SARK?”

  10. Was it just me, or did anybody else hear the sideline reporter say Cody Kessler told Steve Sarkisian to “Relax Man”, after Sarkisian scolded him for throwing his first interception ? That’s a perfect example of the lack of respect, and leadership Sarkisian has. Do you think Nick Saban’s players would have said something like that to him ? No way! Sarkisian is a immature party guy, and Pat Haden made the biggest mistake of his Athletic Director career, and unless Sarkisian had certain clauses in his contract, it will cost USC over 12 million dollar’s if they fire him.

    • I hear 27 is the O/U for the # of Fireballs consumed after the U-Dub loss by CC and Pat.

  11. No use of Brown – a senior qb that can’t throw a deep pass. Running back by whose turn it is – this is worse than Kiffin but then again here are consecutive AD’s (Garrett and Haden) who both latched onto the idea that any assistant to PC works opps forgot about Orgeron and well there’s still Norm Chow.

Time for Haden to leave as well – he’sin love with: interviews, bump and grindng the Harlem Shake in the stands at basketball games, voting on the BCS committee, on and on but first pay what is needed to send Sark packing and send the bill to Haden –

Haden hired him and it’s his ‘hunch’ that has cost fans more of the same – over paid assistants deemed credible as head coaches.

  12. Kelly? Why?Because he’ll soon be available? That’s not going to happen as long as Haden is in that position of naming the coach – Haden needs to control – he got Enfield on the up side – little pressure for two years – but this is our standard – football.
