The USC coaches are out recruiting today. But wouldn’t it be better to focus on what’s wrong with the current season and maybe sacrifice a couple spots in the recruiting rankings?

another year, another set of suckers.
You’re living proof doofus – here you are wth your bile and envy.
Wow. Coming from someone who also loss a football game and also has to face Stanford Thursday, that’s the typical Bruin persona. Never change!
if you can’t see the difference between the programs then you truly are a Trogan for life.
Lol! Never change. Never.
Problem and pressure are on Haden –
SAS consider:
Sark is undoubtedly one loss more loss (other than ND or UCLA) from being sacked – now what does Haden do?
This is all on Pat Haden – he barelyopened the job up to anyone save for the perfunctory interview with Petersen – his target was always Sarkisian because he was controllable – well that is true but he also can’t win consistently. His (Sark’s) coaching staff is inept at best. He allegedly was told by Kessler to ‘calm down’ last night – his own qb addressing his head coach as if he was a fellow team member.
This is a mess and regardless of Haden backing away – this is Haden’s.
At least hoops is doing well.
Speaking as an ex-hoops season ticket holder for over 40 years…you have a perverted sense of humor.
Ex due to PH not pulling the plug on O’Neil 2 seasons earlier.
I would guess Sark will now be judged going forward by his performances against Notre Dame next Saturday and UCLA at the end of the regular season. If this continues (and we both know it’s not looking good) Haden might have to consider resigning, but he won’t. Sark was outcoached again, and his decision to kick the field goal was embarrassing as a fan to have been there to witnesses. Haden should be on the hot seat as well. He’s a great personality, he’s done good things for the School, but this is getting ugly. Only a victories over Notre Dame and UCLA will change most minds and that looks pretty far fetched at this point.
Steve Sarkisian and his wife, Stephanie, are divorcing. The
following statement was provided from Coach Sarkisian via his reps:
“It is our desire to protect the privacy of our children
and each other. Our goal is to raise our children in a joint, cooperative style
as caring and loving parents. Thank you for respecting our family’s privacy. We
will have no further comment.” 4-21-15
USC Football 2015: Sarkisian and the Trojans outcoached and
outplayed at home by Petersen and the Huskies. 10-9-15
Steve Sarkisian and Pat Haden are divorcing. The following statement was provided by Athletic Director Pat Haden:
“It is the Universities desire to protect what is left of the
integrity and dignity of our student athletes and salvage what we can from Alumni University Contributions that have begun a more severe free-fall then the team’s AP ratings. Does anyone have
Ed Orgeron’s unlisted phone number?” 10-12-15
Bring back da BIG O!!!
I would like to see a Coach O and Norm Chow combo. That would bring us back to the glory days.
Not as the head coach. DLine or DC YES.
I’ll tell you why he’s the right HC, 3 reasons:
1. The man doesn’t have a giant ego. He’s willing to say, “let’s all think about how we’re gonna plan on O and D”. Because of that he also fires up the fan base and the media loves him. And Coach O can recruit and judge talent, no doubt about that. Players love him and he loves them.
2. He believes in defense, running and getting the ball out to a bunch of receivers and backs. He also likes a few fun plays and trick plays. That would seem like the formula when you get the best talent.
3. Teams take on the character of their coach. CEO is all fire, energy and hunger. We know players love him, he loves them and he loves SC in a way no one available really does. And you don’t have to worry about him drinking and making a fool of himself too much, he’s been through that stage and he’s cautious now.
We need to stop trying to hire the best coordinator or the biggest name or the guy who Pat Haden would most like as his son.
Coach O is not a HC. Period.
Michael Jackson is not a heterosexual. Period.
The Wolfmeister is not an objective reporter. Period…Exclamation mark…comma…semi-colon (assuming he has had abdominal surgery)…Quotation marks…ad infinitum.
We’ve got to get used to it, this is the way college football is right now.”
Steve Sarkisian
The Wolfmeister is not an objective reporter. Period…Exclamation mark…comma…semi-colon (assuming he has had abdominal surgery)…Quotation marks…ad infinitum.
I’m sure you tried him out
Neither is Sark, and he got the gig.
Neither are you.
All good qualities and good points. But I think our next hire should probably be someone who was not from the Pete Carroll coaching tree. I think we need to start fresh. We need a coach who has his own philosophies. I wouldn’t hate the hire of Orgeron, but that would be SC trying to dig up out former glory and we need a new Leader.
To some one who seems to be close to the program, sas, is there a highly competitive environment around the program? Around practices? It seems as though the best coaches develop that sense of competition and get the best out of their players.
I’m just a fan. I have the same view as you, but I think Sark is burning out quicker than I thought he would this season. Losing two straight conference home games is a huge red flag with the talent we have. I’ll say that I was pleasantly surprised from the defenses performance. It wasn’t great, but they showed some real improvement and buckled down late in the game. But the competition from what I hear has been good and intense at times at practice and players attitudes and mindsets seem to be high and hungry. So you have to wonder is Sark and his staff actually the problem. I like Sark, but his window is closing fast. And Thursday night was a testament to where we might be headed for the rest of the season. He was out planned and outcoached. When we only have 1 timeout left with 4 minutes left you probably have to go for it. Especially when your kicker hasn’t kicked anything close to a meaningful kick all year. And throwing for the end zone on first down when you are trying to win, and also kill the clock at the same time is just stupid. Our goals have went from potential top 10 season to trying to salvage it with wins over our rivals, while there’s still 7 games left. And it’s Sarks, Helton, Wilcox, Tee’s, CONNELLY, Tuiasosopo, Sirmon, Wilson, Heywards, etc. to make sure these guys are prepared and focused on what’s in front of them, and not looking ahead to Notre Dame. Kessler played bad, the Offensive tackles have taken a step back under Connelly and Helton called a bad game. Haden should start feeling some heat. And Sark will need to have a miracle turnaround coaching job from hear on. The alumni and boosters might start calling for heads for something to happen. At the same time in my opinion the players need to play above and beyond in times like last night, they didn’t dig deep and come to life when it mattered. What can we do?
Good stuff, sas.
Brilliant Arturdo…..you’ve got an eye for talent (or more likely you’ve got a couple of things in common w/ phaden’s kid….’Lookin’ 4 love’)….When sas isn’t looking thru Boy’s Life Magazine for photos or Sports Illustrated for quotes…..he’s probably working on a cure for Cancer….
You guy’s are DEEEEEP!
F/O
It must be incredibly difficult for you trolls with this balancing act you manage here.
One minute you’re pretending to be outraged by a post you judge to be politically incorrect and the next minute you post something like this yourself.
how you like me now…….
Hasn’t changed a bit. Still think you’re angry and spiteful and you have too much time on your hands.
You want to hear something scary? There is scuttlebutt going out that USC is looking at Chip Kelly.
A sports Illustrated writer said that, and also believes that Sark is gone at the end of the season.
Please don’t bring Ed Orgeron back!!!
We’ve got to get used to it. This is the way college football is right now.”
Steve Sarkisian
The new coach should have the best talent available!
LOL
You’ve got to do both, Scottie.
#1 biggest mistake for Sark not keep CEO. Second biggest, not saying “let’s focus on a run oriented attack attack” to Clay Helton. Third biggest, not saying no to that extra drink. Fourth, and possible worse, not having a wife to dress him; the guy looks like a PT high school coach without a real job. Just saying. We need a new coach but I still support him til he’s fired.
Pat Haden alienated Ed. If Pat never was going to seriously consider Ed as head coach he shouldn’t have named Ed interim head coach. All Pat did was get Ed’s hopes up. Can’t blame that on Sark.
Ah-men!
Unable to believe just how many posters are clueless regarding what actually transpired behind the scenes.
Would everybody crying about Sark rather have Charlie Strong? He is 1-4 about to be 1-5, but most fans at the wealthiest football program in America seem to want to give him a chance – and why not? It’s only his second year… Can you imagine what it would be like at SC to be 1-4??? Sark is 3-2, on his way to what looks to be most likely 10-2 if they make some better in-game decisions :))) GO SARK – GO SC
Still can win the South, and the Conference, and go to the Rose Bowl
FIGHT ON
Yo Lo i thought you said Huskies were going to lose last night!
Well, they didn’t – I was wrong
Lose big.
YOYO….just a wild guess….but you might want to check for exhaust leaking into the passenger compartment of your automobile….
F/U
You a funny guy.
Hope springs eternal.
Just listened to Sarks post presser last night. Seriously? He said they will continue to have games like this. Come on Man’! Low expectations create similar results.
“wouldn’t it be better to focus on what’s wrong” ?
This needs to be said (Just bangin’ on my old piano, getting in tune with the straight and narrow)
Cody Kessler you are a nice guy and you try hard, but…
In games with an opponent with a good defense, at best your grade is a C- (Some would say a D+) !
The Quarterback play yesterday with USC facing The University of Washington, Cody Kessler was totally out played by what could still be an 18yr old “True-Freshman”, in His 5th College game, in Cody Kessler’s home Stadium, The Coliseum ?
“No” touchdowns, “2” interceptions, with horrible Quarterback play in between !
All while a “5*” #1 Quarterback Recruit U.S.A. 2013 Max Browne stands on the sideline watching ?
PUT PRESSURE ON CODY KESSLER AND CODY FOLDS LIKE A WET TORTILLA !
EVERY TIME !!!
And if nothing else, Steve Sarkisian should be relieved of command for not hurting Cody Kesslers’ feelings and making the business decision to do what’s best the University and play MAX BROWNE !
Cody doesn’t have it !!!
Now Trojans, enjoy your 7 win season (With Notre Dame, Utah, Oregon and UCLA coming up, the betting man would say “6”)
!
Not enough relying on the running game. We were getting great yards per average. We faced a team with a very disciplined secondary, that was bringing the pressure on the QB on pass plays but could do NOTHING to stop the run. So Sark decides that he has to show how his passing attack cannot be stopped… The thing is, if he had run the ball with the 6+ yards per carry, the passing game would have opened up off the play action. SAAAAAARK! He’s not quite as bad as ol’ “Single Receiver CLK”, but he’s close.
Damn close!
Good points. This team needs that kind of competition. No one should feel entitled to keep their position.
I like Kess. He has an excellent attitude and, let’s face it, he is a good kid who most of us want to support. I believe that he is aware of his own limitations. When push comes to shove, I tend to cut him slack. However, midway thru the 1st quarter it was obvious that he was having a bad hair day. I said to my boob tube companions, “Browne should be inserted now, Kess is just not right for some reason”. All concurred (a 1st for me). From that point forward, it was on the head shed, not Cody. The rest is history. I don’t quite concur with the tortilla analogy. Given his support, I believe that he mostly holds his own…nothing earth shattering mind you, but well within reason. Least yea forget, he has self extracted himself from more than a few tough situations. Perhaps too much is expected due to some stats vs questionable opponents. BTW, is it a flour or a corn tortilla? There is a difference.
I have always been a Browne supporter, but once the leaders mind is already made up, you can kiss objectivity goodbye. Speaking of stubborn mind sets, #10 has been getting the caca end of the stick. Given the opportunity and significant practice, he could kill at QB. QB or WR he is being underutilized in spades. Hope he sticks with it, but will understand, and support, if he bails.
As far as QBs are concerned, I always have supported ours…with the exception of T. Marijuanavich.
why does it always come down to making jokes about TORTILLAS? Those YUMMY Hot Box Burritos and TACO’S would have never happened without a TORTILLA. Speaking of hot box’s…..and TACO’S….’JUAN’ likes to brag that he call’s ‘his wife’s’ a ‘Taco con Pelo’…
f/o
If you have watched any games, you would have seen the error of your opinion. Kessler can throw well, avoid some pressure, but when the pocket collapses every snap, most all qb’s would get happy feet and want to avoid getting hit every play. Put a big chunk of blame on the OL, and specifically the OL coach. And Browne has had two seasons to take the job and hasn’t. 5 stars is meaningless these days as a 3 star just works harder to get better.
I’ll tell you why Ed Orgeron is the right HC, 3 reasons:
1. The man doesn’t have a giant ego. He’s willing to say, “let’s all think about how we’re gonna plan on O and D”. Because of that he also fires up the fan base and the media loves him. And Coach O can recruit and judge talent, no doubt about that. Players love him and he loves them.

We need to stop trying to hire the best coordinator or the biggest name or the guy who Pat Haden would most like as his son. And we can’t say “No, we need a clean break” because it is just that type of “general feeling” or “how would it look?” stuff that made us make mistakes before.
Or worry about a walk on punter being arrested!
oooh billy billy billy Baroo!!!!
when, OH WHEN will the IDIOTS (on the other message boards) ever listen to the wolfman???
wolfman it was YOU who predicted the problems with the O-line, the Def Coordinator and the issues with play calling/coaching decisions in close games!! you were PERSECUTED for your beliefs!!
wolfman it was YOU who ranked the trOXans #13 in your pre-season poll, and you were REVILED for your judgement!!
wolfman, it was YOU who CHALLENGED rah rah Cowerd’s hyperbole about the trOXans and you were ATTACKED!!!
and NOW, wolfman, you suggest the coaches should focus on the Rudy’s rather than go after that one extra 5 start recruit!!! they would not listen, they’re not listening still….
#PerhapsTheyNeverWill
How about the bruin arrested for rape
I guess that makes things even with Bryce Dixon.
Bryce didn’t have a one year investigation.
walk on now walked out. that the best you got?
Typical response for a losing program and alumni base. Of course you probably never went to UCLA
How come you gotta call us names, a liberal or what?
i CLEATLY said the idiots “on the other message boards”…this is a blog. Anyone can see I was not referring to people on this blog!!!
#JustALittleTrickTheWolfmanTaughtMe
Sark not insisting for Helton to run more is a good example of Sark’s lack of leadership and identity for this team. A good leader steps on toes. Do you think Nick Saban wont put Lane Kiffin in his place when push comes to shove and Bama needs a successful possesion of the ball? Run the rock. I do think that this is just a symptom, however. I think something deeper is going on. It doesnt seem as if Sark has the intestinal fortitude to put people- coaches, recruits, and players- in their place and to do what is best for the program.
Speaking of Saban, i think that is what/ who Sark needs- just like Kiffin- a mentor or a gig where he can learn from somebody on how to become a HC. Right now, he has shown himself not to be ready.
Pelear Y Adelante!
Great point, he only had PC to show him how to lead. PC he isn’t and I sometimes wonder if he has the mental capacity to think quickly and soundly to make game management decisions.
Steve Sarkisian thinks he’s doing a great job, so why wouldn’t he conduct business as usual ?
Recruiting not the problem , coaching is
so is Cal State L.A…….Are the experts predicting a NATTY for CSLA?
Back to football….Are 3rd down conversions really important????? You just got your fannies handed to you by a team made up of MORE THAN 50% FRESHMAN…..What are the chances LIMBO U could get beat by L.B. POLY?
F/U
Our teams not very good. I’ll admit that. What’s your point? I hate losing, yes. But seriously speaking what has UCLA done this season or in your lifetime for you to come speaking like you always do. All kidding and trash talk aside…what have you won or earned?
They talk like they’re the football program with the 30 for 30 special.
Seriously It’s a real head scratcher.
you hurt bro?
f/o
We don’t have a whole bunch of Mythical Championships….it’s funny that you do have em’ and you brag about it…..You also award tons of Honorary Degrees….and are proud to do so….then there’s that WINO SCENT thing, the barbed wire surrounding the campus (keeps the animals locked in), The Practice field named in honor of an anti Semitic American Nazi Party Member….and Those YUMMY HOT BOX BURRITOS….UCLA?….only LEADS THE NATION IN Natty’s (you sccuumm had a 30-40 year head start but still lag)….and , ALWAYS ranked among the top Universities in The World.
What was your point again???????
f/o
Thai……..Stop right there!
You don’t have ANY championships. Seriously. That’s the wrong way to start your debate. I’m gonna ask you AGAIN, all trash talking aside…What has UCLA FOOTBALL EVER WON???
Take a look at this great article with video… great recruiting pitch.. Come to southern cal and be shouted down by a guy who mixes alcohol with his meds! http://mweb.cbssports[dot]com/ncaaf/eye-on-college-football/25332220/watch-uscs-steve-sarkisian-erupts-on-the-sideline-after-penalty
But not an objective decision, more emotional. Not good.
Thankfully I know the trolls on here and don’t waste much time reading their remarks anymore and I can get through this much faster than getting into stupid debates.
Recruiting is a big part of the job, and after this loss extremely difficult. No doubt I am sure most of the coaches would have preferred to stay home.
We’ve got to get used to it,” he said. “This is the way college football is right now.”
Steve Sarkisian
