USC-Washington Video Of Day

Here’s my thoughts on where the USC program stands immediately after the Trojans’ stunning loss to Washington.

  1. The loss is not that stunning or surprising IMO. We have a terrible coach with respect to game planning and in-game adjustments. Sark was outmaneuvered again is its getting tiresome. Winner’s win whether its ugly or artistic and really don’t give a darn about padding the XBOX / PS4 highlight stats. Buckle up for the roller coaster for the rest of the season. Hopefully there are more highs than lows. My support for the players is resolute and will not waver.

    • We’ve got to get used to it, this is the way college football is right now.”

      Steve Sarkisian

  2. The quotes from Sark in the Steve Bischeff article tell me everything about what he is. “We got to get used it. This is the way college football is right now.” Really? Basically what you’re telling us is that USC has to accept the fact that it’s o.k. to be mediocre. It’s plain to see that Sarkisian is not fit for a job like USC. Losing at home to a double digit underdog is unacceptable, as it is on the road. A true leader would stand up and say that we’re not good right now, and we need to coach better and play better.

  4. Sark’s just digging himself in deeper and deeper. I’m sure he’s a very nice fellow. Not much in the smarts dept and he hasn’t earned an iota of respect as the HC at USC and fans are starting to get resentful. USC’s much more likely to lose any close game against any team in the 4th Q. SC under pressure always seeks the path of least resistance. No creativity or toughness – compared to the opponent.

Let’s face it, nobody except a few die hard rah rahs expects much out of USC anymore and that’s because of Sark, who obviously doesn’t expect much out of his Trojans either. “”We’ve go to get used to it,” says the Sarkster. Next thing you know it’ll be logos don’t win championships.

Haden screwed this up bad. What a disaster. Sure wish we had Petersen: builds quietly but has the killer instinct and smarts to exploit your weaknesses.

We should start looking hard at other coaches – like Greg Roman with the Buffalo Bills. Haden took the easy route the first time around and now we’re stuck, frankly in worse shape than ever.

    • Check out Cody Kessler’s comments in today’s la times. They are not complimentary of Sarkisian.

      • Players respect a coach who works harder than they do, has their back and puts them in positions to be successful. Players dont respect a coach than is a poor role model, has poor pre-game planning & in game adjs and poor sideline demeanor. What type of coach do you think CK views sark as?

    • I guess the next time Haden hires a HFBC he needs to take off his shades in the bar.

  5. There is a very interesting quote by Cody Kessler in today’s LA Times. I don’t have time to re type it, but basically what Kessler says is our coaches failed on us Thursday night. You guys should check it out. It is in Gary Klein’s column in today’s paper.

When a classy person like Kessler says that publicly you know things are screwed up at USC. I think the next 2 months are not going to be fun for Steve Sarkisian, and yes that is a serious understatement.

    • He definitely looked overwhelmed Thursday. We may not be bowl eligible at this rate. Losing the locker room is death to his career at USC unless he takes a real sabatical to straighten out his life. Only then can he reestablish trust with the players.

      • Agree. If the Trojan win 7 games, I think they should forgo the embarrassment of losing a bowl game. Sark can’t be trusted to win a close game. If Nebraska had a few extra minutes in last year’s bowl, I’m pretty sure that Nebraska would’ve won that game.

  6. You know it’s bad when our crosstown rivals start supporting Sark. Haden is so locked into him that he’ll have to go as well because I don’t think he can make unbiased decision. Too bad as I had high hopes before the season with all the super talent we have.

  7. What is that sound in the background? Is it the southern cal football program being flushed down the toilet??!!

  8. More woes for the KU FB program – M. Tuerk, torn ACL and out for the season?
