Pat Haden Update

A knowledgeable source confirmed USC athletic director Pat Haden never intended to step down this weekend despite rampant rumors. The speculation was so pervasive that even people inside Heritage Hall wondered if it was true.

“It was never true,” said the source.

    • “Sources” again. When does it ever end.

Anyone know what is wrong with considering Mike Gundy? That is in case we can’t get Gruden.

        • Their in negotiations concerning the size and design of motor coach. Although, a bullet train design, according to inside sources was never discussed.

    • An old saying which I just made up: “you can’t spell source without sour”
Maybe the source is sour grapes ( or at least fermented ones)

    • Let’s hope Daryl Gross is inbound before Haden permanently wrecks the program because his (Haden’s) ego says he is the sharpest knife in the drawer.

      • Sorry buddy Haden’s ego says more than that. I hope he actually listens to all the voices like former players, boosters, heck even you, me and some of the fans could point Haden in the right direction for the right coach. Baltimore.

  1. Please spare me and the rest of us from the mythical knowledgeable source schtick.
Sounds akin to the Lobo who cried, “Wolf!”. (Superior to saying the Wolf who cried, “Wolf.”)

  2. Pat won’t bolt mid-season, that when he fires coaches. He is royalty. Royalty doesn’t get fired, they “step down” at the end of the season ” to spend more time with their families”. My sources say there is momentum moving towards including a woman for consideration as AD after St. Pat exits stage left.

    • Wasn’t there that ‘female’ some 20years ago that got hired by WA after USC passed her over? Barbara Hedges? Rick Neuheisel sued her and collected. She bombed at WA and did the same at AZ St..

        • As you are sweet cakes for that ‘troller’ down on Melrose….run baby run and opps almost forgot…worship the Wooden…after all after him what else do you morons have?

  3. Well I sure wish he either would or even better not be involved on the next hire – the Sarkisian pick was both awful and impacting and most of all telling – like all too many individuals who have had success after success in one’s life – no one bats a 1.000 and if Haden thinks he can right the ship with some insightful pick he is fooling himself and will further leave a legacy @ 60+ years oif age he’ll wish he hadn’t.

  4. Pat treats being an AD like a hobby so he can make additional money from all the other companies he is taking money from.

  5. “You all know nothing. Only I am smart enough to know and do what’s best for USC. Being as smart and important as I am, how could I even think of leaving SC in their deepest time of need?”

    – Pat Haden

  6. Tom Herman and Houston not looking good against there one and only tough opponent Memphis. He’s not ready for the USC job.

    • I never thought for a minute either one of them would be a candidate for the USC job. But both are high on the list for the Missouri job, according to CBS sports.

      • The announcers on Fox, during tonight’s Stanford – Oregon game are chatting up Oregon’s offensive coordinator, Scott Frost, as a viable head coaching candidate.

        • Scott Frost is being paid $800,000 a year, so I’m sure he will wait his turn for the Oregon head spot. And if the Ducks would have continued their slide, I thought they would have handed Frost the job .

  7. Pat Haden comes across as an arrogant, controlling individual who thinks he knows it all . But the bottom line is , I don’t care if he steps down anymore, I just want him to hire the right guy . Because too much energy is being wasted by everybody disguising his resignation.

    • But do you really think he’ll hire the right guy or the right guy will want to work under him?

      • If the right guy comes aboard, you better believe his agent will have clauses in his contract, that will protect form all of the uncertainty in the Athletic department.

  8. Coach O sure ripping it up tonight. His line has given up 31 points a HALF. Sure, he’d have been the right choice.

    • Perfect example of a misinformed football fan that has no idea what the role of a first year defensive line coach is . Ed Orgeron didn’t recruit any of those players, nor does he call the defensive plays . But it’s his fault Arkansas put up 31 points ? Wow! Yeah Right! I guess Les Miles , and his defensive coordinator have nothing to do with that , because its a position coaches fault…..LMAO

      • Rumor of the day…
Can’t confirm anything, but rumor is Tim Drevno has been contacted about the SC job. I can’t take this seriously and don’t want to. He’s a great OLine coach, I don’t think SC would hire him and I prefer them not to.

        • The reason why I don’t think it’s true, is because the Athletic department had a problem with Tim Drevno being to abrasive , to people in their department. But you never know.

          • I could see see him being too blunt or intimidating. I don’t think he’s done enough to become an SC head coach after one season of being an OC.

      • Um ya ?

And derailing the Utah (#5??) season was just luck ??

        Right, Fred ???

P.S. Weren’t you the star of the “Flintstones” some 80 years ago ????

        That’s what I thought…

          • Oh ya, Fred ?

            And “2014” ??

            How “HUMILIATING” !

“The Trojans who jumped to a 35-0 lead in the second quarter and spent the second half celebrating a big finish to a wild autumn” ?

            And…

“Cody Kessler passes for 6 TD passes as Trojans blast Irish”

            Great memories ???

How “Pathetic”, did I leave out Humiliating ?

At least USC has sanctions hangin over their head (Which would have “crippled” the Irish to a point of no return!)

What’s Notre Dames “excuse” for, well “nothing” in decades ?

Oh, wait a minute, Trivia Time:

What was the “last” College Football Team to get their “@ss” handed to them in a National Championship game ?

            None ?

            Oops, I meant “Notre [Dames]”…

Florida Atlantic put up a better game against the Crimson Tide 2012 ?

            Now, Fred…

Go back to the Flintstones !

And, Fred, if You need any “consultation”, contact “Barney” !

            In Bed rock, twist twist….

          • “No” Fred, but then again, how many Big games (Besides Utah) has Cody Kessler Won ?

            So…

Lets pick this up again “next” year, Fred, and let’s see how the Max Browne experiment works out !

As for the “rest” of the Pac-12, how does it matter !!!

USC wins National Championships, the others, not…

            WinOn

    • Orgeron is a crybaby punk !

He did “exactly” what He said He wouldn’t do, quit (Ran-Out) on the team before the end of the season !

Oh and… Head Coach Clay Helton coached the Trojans to a Woppin beating over then Top-25 Fresno State in the Las Vegas Bowl, the game was “over” in the “1st” Half !!

Common Cassius Clay Helton, pound down the Duckies before the showdown in the Coliseum !!!

      FightOn

  9. OR just took Stanford down – here’s to us winning out, ucla beating UT and Stanford defeating Notre Dame
