Is USC Better Than UCLA?

USC defeated mighty Monmouth, 101-90, tonight after the Hawks upset UCLA on Friday. Naturally I asked Andy Enfield afterward if the Trojans are finally better than the Bruins.

“We’re worried about our own team,” Enfield said.

So is that a yes or a no?

  1. Enfield actually has me interested in basketball again, after only the first two games … If we can just beat the bruins, the season is a total success! Sound familiar?

      • “If only ‘he’ were still alive….why?….Gone are the days….Sam….JD….the sweet con…..bahhhh!!!!”

      • Nice to have you back fighting the good fight. Not sure about you but it took me until late on Sunday to find the courage to come out of my room. We shall overcome brother.

      • Welcome back……..Congrats on the WSU win……. I turned off after Rosen’s cool TD. I didn’t miss anything right?

  2. UCLA is 8-1 vs USC in basketball the past four years, and 4-0 in football. So no, but we will see this year.

    • I hope that your comments were addressed to Scott. Otherwise, we don’t need any reminders. And your football team is 3-1 the last four years. Unless you’re calling your shot for this year already.

      • No, aimed at Wolf. My mistake on football, and no, I’m not ready to make a prediction on the SC-UCLA game. Will wait to see how Bruins perform against Utah before making a prediction.

        • Both teams seem to be limping to the finish line, especially with all of the season ending injuries at both schools….

  3. Typical Wolfy. Always trying to ask gotcha questions to provoke a response for his blog. Too bad Andy didn’t take your bait tonight.

  4. Enfield reminds me of Sark…all style and no substance. You’re not going to win the big games if you don’t play defense and rebound.

    • Have you seen Metu play?… the kid can block shots and rebound…..he got in foul trouble last night and he was only able to play 9 minutes…same for Bennie Boatwright, who only played 12 minutes before fouling out…..last years champion, Duke, was #44 in rebounding and #135 in blocked shots… USC was in #90 rebounding and #88 in blocked shots…..and, for what it’s worth, Kentucky was #21 in rebounding and #2 in blocked shots…..

        • Relax……I’m just comparing the raw stats….every needs to kept in context, but I just have a better feeling about our team this season than I have for quite a few years….All five starters are back… 10 players from last year… and the two new additions are already showing positive things…but it’s obviously very early…I also realize that the Pac-12 pundits have rated this team as only the 10th best in the conference…..we shall see…

  5. Never use the common opponent measuring Stick to measuring your team against another one, because it means nothing when both teams are young .

    • That’s all that Scott knows how to do….we didn’t really expect him to actually break down the game and question strategy, X’s and O’s, player development, or anything like that, did we?….what we get is “Are the Trojans finally better than the Bruins?”… pure comedy….he may as well have asked “Did you finally stop beating your wife?”

  6. The team scores over 100 points for the first time in 13 years and that is the thought provoking question you choose to ask? Why didn’t you ask him about whether he missed the obnoxious voice of Petros?

  7. If only USC and ucla played each other then we would find out who is better and Scooter can quit speculating, If only…

  8. “So is that a yes or a no?”… The look on Enfield’s face when actually asked him that lame question during the press conference, after the game, was hilarious…..I think the “answer” was “Is this guy for real?” and “It’s going to be a LONG season with this clown following us”.

    • Enfield was pretty dismissive of a ridiculous question, Scott made it amusing, at his own cost.

      • Even Scott doesn’t take himself very seriously….which I guess is a good thing…..

        • Be nice, he doesn’t know how to use that new interwebs all the kids are raging about. By the way how confident did wolfie sound asking that question? Lol what an embarrassment.

        • Wrong, several of your recent posts featured links that did work. You are just getting lazy, Garry Bleauz. Put down the double double chesseburger and put some effort into your stalking of Scott Wolf.

          • Then why is it that everyone else on this blog can figure it out, except for YOU?….are you really that incompetent?…. and don’t knock “chesseburgers”……they’re considered brain food, which your starved, anorexic brain could obviously use……

          • Figure what out, Garry Bleauz? Either you correctly post the link or you don’t. You have already shown you know how to do it so stop with the playing dumb routine.

          • I tell you what… rather than have me try to prove that I’m not who you say I am, how you prove that I am “the hack from wearesc”?…..

          • You already proved in years ago with your play by play from news conferences and player interviews from a distinctly rah rah perspective..

          • Well, regardless, you’re sorely mistaken, but there’s obviously not a darn thing that I can do to convince you otherwise, so I’ll stop even trying…

          • Then why is it that everyone else on this blog can figure it out, except for YOU?….are you really that incompetent?…. and don’t knock “chesseburgers”……they’re considered brain food, which your starved, anorexic brain could obviously use……

  9. We’ll know more about this team on Thanksgiving when they play #10 Wichita State…. provided that Scott can pull himself away from the pecan pie long enough to post some “inside” information…..

  10. Follow up question: If you beat UCLA once this year do you think it will save your job?
Follow-up to the follow-up, If you beat UCLA twice do you think it will save Haden’s job?

  11. Trojans don’t compare themselves to bRuins — only the bRuins care about how they measure up to Trojans. That’s why there are so many trolls around here.
