USC’s Pressure On Josh Rosen

ROSEN.USCUCLA QB Josh Rosen was sacked by USC three times yesterday. He was sacked only 11 times in the previous 11 games. Was USC’s pressure something Rosen was not used to seeing this season? You would think he would be less rattled playing in his 12th game.

But he seemed to run into the pressure some plays and threw some wild passes trying to escape pressure. This pressure was probably the key to the Trojans’ victory.

    • Helton told Wilcox to play man to man, otherwise yesterday would have been another loss because Wilcox has NO CLUE

      • I really don’t care about who’s decision it was. For the sake of this conversation, there was an obvious reason for the sacks on Rosen, which Scott can’t seem to figure out.

  1. USC changed up its defense. Our athletes, who were moved into different positions and given different responsibilities, were better both in the trenches and at the skill spots.

It was nothing magical but it was about time. Not one person thought we had any shot if we let Rosen have time to throw. Turns out we were right. Elementary.

  2. USC switched from last year’s 3 – 4 defense to this year’s 4 – 3 – they relied on their DB’s to cover the UCLA receivers coming off the blocks because Helton et. al. sensed the speed was there to collapse the pcket and it was.

I hope Rosen makes a statement ‘clarifying’ his immediate one – remember that special team kick return receiver with his big mouth for OK at the Orange Bowl back in January 2005? “Still think we’re an average team?!”

  3. Too bad Wilcox is too dumb to realize he should’ve been pressuring every quarterback every game all year. His 3 man rush was (and is) a joke.

  4. Wilcox get a clue four man rush much better than 3 man rush, attacking defense better than a prevent defense

    • Guess Chucky’s shooting a new sequel of Child’s Play, starring Chosen Rosen and SUCLA Flops. LOL!!!

  5. Boastin’ Rosen got a toastin’ from the SC boys, and he became Roastin’ Rosen

After the game Rosen said the Trojan defense was nothing special, that he did not see anything from them he did not expect. That is pure rubbish, and typical true blue SUCLA diatribe.

Truth be told, I was comforted every time I saw Trojans rushing into Rosen’s territory. The freshman was scared and rattled, and it showed in his horrible 3-turnover performance that lost the game for SUCLA.

This was Rosen’s first big game, and he did not show me much.

    Priceless
