The oddsmakers are apparently impressed with USC’s 5-2 start in basketball. Before the season, Bovada listed USC’s odds to win the title at 500-1. But today they are . . . 500-1. Full odds after the jump:

Well done wolf – keep it snarky. Keep your anti-Enfield thing going. I have a feeling you’ll be eating more slices of your humble pie as the season(s) roll on.
Are you kidding me?
Wolf admitting prognostication mistakes is akin to SUCLA admitting SC is superior to them in every which way, which of course is the truth.
averaging 2,800 fans at home this season…you guys are really supporting Enfield…
Are you still projecting them to be a 10th place team in the Pac-12, Scott?
How can you work in sports for as long as you have and still not understand how parimutuel betting works and the difference between odds and a spread? The odds are set by the amount of money placed on a team relative to the overall pool of wagers, not because the “oddsmakers” were or weren’t impressed by a team. The fact that the odds haven’t changed reflects the fact that the betting public hasn’t placed enough bets to make a difference.
If you were to say that that oddsmakers, who set the lines (big difference there), had the spread increasing against similar competition, then you could say that oddsmakers were unimpressed.
Try harder.
That wouldn’t play into Scott’s self-serving agenda of painting the basketball team in the worst possible light…
And there it its…finally, the negative basketball post we were expecting.
finishing 6th or better in the conference regular season and winning one game in the conference tournament would be a successful season.
Seriously? Is this Enfield talking here?
