USC Should Become Real Madrid

HADEN.SARK.ASURead Madrid fired its manager, Rafa Benitez, today just halfway through the season. That’s business as usual for perhaps the world’s biggest soccer team. Or for Chelsea, which has had 10 managers in 10 years.

Perhaps USC should adopt this attitude. Clay Helton is 5-2, hire him full time. Clay Helton drops to 5-4, fire him! To be fair, USC is already following this model: Lane Kiffin, Ed Orgeron, Clay Helton, Steve Sarkisian, Helton again. And that’s since 2013.

  1. What if the team wins their game with Alabama but loses to south Podunk? Or if they win 8 and lose 4?
USC won’t fire Helton for losing to Alabama unless he has the team do something stupid such as throw a bubble screen on 4th and 6.
    Oh wait never mind.

    • Look at the bright side—-if we do throw a bubble screen on 4th and 6 against Alabama, it’s likely that it will be with 13 seconds to go and USC down by 24 points.

  2. Man, you’re confused. Is SC “Read” Madrid or is it not? You want them to rapidly fire coaches, but then you tell is we’re already doing it! Wolf, step up your game in 2016 – I keep urging you to do so. And please, proof your stuff. Take some pride.

    • Don’t go after him for typos – it’s built in to his method to stir up his minions.

    • Only 6 short keystrokes away. An understandable mistake. Made twice. In the same short post.

  3. I’ve heard of Real Madrid. Read Madrid? Not so much. Or, two inexcusable typos in one post? Fire him!

  4. I’m so tired of predicting what’s going to happen with the USC football program, and it actually coming true . But I will root for them next season, but I don’t think Clay Helton will last through his second . But I hope he proves me wrong, and I’m looking forward to seeing his blue print come spring practice.
