No Regrets For Leaving USC

Don’t think Mark Jackson isn’t patting himself on the back for going to Villanova after seeing how Lynn Swann came out of nowhere (and with no experience) to get the USC athletic director’s job. Jackson looked like the heir apparent until Steve Sarkisian’s problems back in August made his recommendation look less than sterling.

  1. Mark Jackson – take care and thank you for moving on – BTW props for publicily stating you recommended Sarkisian and best you take a hard look at what metrics you use to assess a potential hire.

Good bye and thank you for clearing out.

      • Why you silly….now go take your turn at Jonnie’s ‘faux’ rat hole….opps don’t forget Neillie….”:Oh come let us adore him…oh come let us adore him….well even a fool like you can sing the next verse huh?

          • Nah…you know the drill….worship the jonnie and never ever let anyone tell you that ‘Big Sam The Gumout Man’ was the sweet slide that that thar’ il/elle ‘Jonnie’ used to get his smooth glide to ‘ in….’no accountabilityville’….gp jonnie and for you white bread….I love you…I honestly love you….

          • Al, I told you to lay off the amyl nitrate, you’re having flashbacks from 35 years ago and speaking in tongues again.

  2. I can just hear the conversation between Wolf and Petros tonight. One a local writer from a 3 string paper and one who does color commentary on West Virginia football games. They cant stand that the grown ups made a deal in the board room.

    • Petros is a Trojan, a former captain of the football team and a guy that calls it as he sees it even if it draws the ire of administration of school he loves. Refreshing.

    • Petros is a POS. A funny looking POS! He’s funny, but he doesn’t know a thing about college football.

      • Petros is one of the ugliest guys on the planet and getting uglier every day. His face looks like it might just sprout something any moment.

      • Sam Bam, I resepectfully disagree with what you said abotu Petros not knowing football. During the season, he breaks down usc and ugly and gives a 10 minute dissertation of what they teams are trying to accomplish. He knows the techincal aspect of football. when he starts the anaylsis, you see a different Petros, one that is very serious and with pinpoint accuracy. Thank you.

      • “He doesn’t know a thing about college football”?
        Sam, your ignorance is showing.

  3. jackson didn’t do anything. It was all Jay – he was there before Jackson got there. Child please….

  4. As I said from the beginning, USC’s Athletic director search was nothing but a bunch of crap , and I feel sorry for all the candidates who actually thought they had a chance. Lynn Swann will be on cruise control, until a coach is needed for one of their major programs.

  5. The great thing about the Swanny hire is that all the baby malcontent know-it-alls here have another reason to be totally pissed for a long time. Too bad for you. Boo hoo. You’ll have to learn to live with it, crying all the way. Ya baby.

Here’s a Pac-12 football coach’s (not from USC) text to me after the announcement: “I am a big Lynn Swann fan. Guy is first class all the way. Amazing dude. Hope he does well for the Trojans.”

    • Kobe sucks. Good riddance. Now the Lakers can begin to jell as a team.

Goober goes out with glory hogging 60 points and the team goes 17 – 65 – The worst season W/L record in Laker history.

      • You obviously missed one of the greatest performances by him EVER as a Laker. And i thought you were describing Bryce Alford.

        • Sammy, what good is a glory hog individual performance on a 17 – 65 team – feed the ball to Goober Bryant BB sucks.

On the other hand, I watched the San Francisco Warriors TEAM win their last game and go 73 – 9 to break the Bull’s TEAM record.

          • The games different. Whole different ballgame. They actually played defense in the 90’s. And Jordan and Pippen were 1st team defenders. The Warriors couldn’t beat the Bulls in a best of 7.

          • Be serious. The Jordan Rules won zero until the great Celtics, Lakers, 76ers and Pistons teams were over the hill and they had no competition. The NBA was so bad in the 1990s that The Jordan Rules gave up basketball for minor league baseball.

          • You’re so right. Drexler and the Blazers sucked. Barkeley in the form of his hall of fame career and the Suns stunck. Same with Malone/Stckton’s Jazz, Ewing/Riley’s Knicks etc… It was a terrible time for the NBA.

          • I agree . They did all suck. Not one of them could touch the great teams of the 1980s. There was no classic rivalry between the Bulls and anyone else. That’s why they let The Jordan Rules gamble, take 4 steps on layups and push off to create his shots. They had nothing else.

          • That’s a BS copout excuse. He was the best of his era. And he beat THE BEST OF HIS ERA. Magic, Clyde Drexler, Charles Barkley, Gary Payton & Shawn Kemp, Stockton &Karl Malone. So don’t tell me he didn’t play the best.

          • I disagree. Pippin, the beatch that he is, would have quit when Stephan Curry scores about 50 against him. Jordon, another ball hog, would have traveling called on him everytime. Thompson would show Jordon how to play ball. Rodman and Kerry would show up though.

          • Are you serious? Pippen was the best defender o f his time. He was the definition of lock down defense.

          • Sam, with all due respect, Rodman was a better shut down man than Pippin. Pippin rode the coatails of Jordon. I would start Rodman over Pippin anyday of the year if I needed someone to stop the other player.
Gotroy22 iscorrect about Jordon walking all over the place and pushing and shoving other players.
In my top 5 all nba team, Jordon and Kobe are not on my tean. Too much ball hogging and narrcisim. I leave that for them and the ruins of L.A.

          • My team will have more championships than Kobe and Jordon combined. My starting five are: Magic at guard, Jerry West at guard, James Worthy at forward, Bird at forward, and either Wilt, Lew Alcindor, or Shaq at center. The nice thing about this team is, they all can play together as a team. Magic is the team captain. I will beat Jordon and Kobe combined together.

          • All you have to do is put Larry Bird and a young athletic Kevin Garnett and they would be that team. You have nothing, but inside players and Shaq wouldn’t be able to make a free throw in the 4th quarter.

          • My whole thought is, get the best players I know of that can play as a team. I remember West making a 55 foot shot before they had 3 pointers. My team is also very tall. Magic is 6’9″, West is 6’6″ and he is the shortest.
I am not an X and O’s guy in terms of basketball, but I do know that what I have seen, I think it would work.
Sam, thank you for allowing me to debate with you.
Football is my forte. I played four years in high school on the o and d line. Basketball, I am not soo good at.

          • Pippen defended the the other teams best player every game. Of course Rodman would have to defend Malone they were both power forwards.

          • Rodman played for Detroit and the coach. He taught Rodman how to play and be tough. When Pippin went to Portland, he was made the main man. When Portland was losing and about to be eliminated from the playoffs, he quit and left the floor and the arena and left his teamates on the floor by themselves. I have no respect for him.

          • That’s no secret that Pippen could be a cry baby A-Hole. He bad mouthed Jordan when Jordan left for baseball, but Jordan let it go to win more championships.

          • They allowed Jordan to take 4 steps, pivot off both feet and push off to create shots in the 90s.

          • I hate myself, but squatter, the good thing is, The Lakers will have $25 million to spend on great players instead of one, with no ball hog Kobe gone. Warriors would have beaten the bulls with the bum Jordon.
the Celts, Lakers, and Pistons were all old when the bulls won.

      • I’m bummed for you, in a way- great night in LA Sports history, and you’re taking the haterade route. Hopefully something will satisfy you in the sports world one day which will turn that frown upside down.

      • I can’t do this Squatter, but I must. I will hate myself forever for writing this but here it is, you are right about Kobe. The biggest ball hog of all time. He overstayed for two years. The Lakers should have paid him only $5 million for the last two years. He tore apart Shaq and them team for his insane narricist attitude of himself. Mr. Buss should have told Kobe to play nice with Shaq or leave. The wrong guy left. For 20 years I heard from him how great he was. Now, he is an unemployed bum which we have to support by paying for his umployment. Remember, he is an independent contractor who gets to collect money from the state. Kobe, Good riddence and don’t hit you on the way out.
God forgive me for agreeing with squatter.
