  1. It’s simple. In Los Angeles the people have the beach, the shopping, the Dodgers, Angels, Lakers, Clippers, Kings, and Cal State LA, etc. am I missing anyone? Nah. There’s always something to do.

    • I’m sure that an 11-1 record in 2015 would have led to more interest in the 2016 team, but of course you’re right. Things to do in Columbus, Ohio on a Saturday–the list would not be quite the same.

      • Even when we had won two National Championships, playing for a third and had the 34 game winning streak there was only about 35,000-40,000 fans at the spring games. There’s just too much going on in Southern California.
In Tusculoosa or Columbus this is the the entire weekend for that area.

      • Having an actual scrimmage 11 on 11 would have attracted many more fans. The Cal Spring game was more compelling.

    • One thing you omitted is if you’re a troll, you sit at your computer and post on your rival’s blog under six different screen names. That will fill up a Saturday.

    • He keeps banging that drum. Scottie lives in a USC (and soccer?) vacuum. Which is fine – it’s why we read him. But his argument falls down because of it.

    • And don’t forget. Many many people living in LA have moved there from different parts of the country and are not inherently SC fans. And those who went to USC, like myself, have moved away. I can use my fraternity as an example. Out of the 50 actives give or take that we had when I graduated, there is a small percentage still in the LA area.

    • Cal St. L.A., are you serious bro? You must be a Mike Garrett fan club leader. CSUN or LB St. has a lot more to offer. The Lakers are dead meat as is the Kings. Angels out of town, Clippers didn’t play until Sunday. The Spring Game is a joke the last few years being a kids fun fest. They were better when held at Howard Jones field, and you could stay on the sidelines watching the action.

      • Btw. I’ve been to Spring Games at both the Howard Jones and the Coliseum. Yes at HJ you are up close to the action, but all in all they’re both the exact same thing…it’s still a spring scrimmage. Even the best spring game that I ever went to was just a spring game. It had Leinart, Cassel, a 17 year old John David Booty and Purdue transfer Brandon Hance all competing for the starting QB position (we know how that turned out), the unveiling of Darnell Bing finally making his Trojan presence after failing his SAT’s wearing Mike Garrett’s retired #20 and he did not disappoint, also had Whitney Lewis the #1 overall recruit in the country who tried to sign with Florida State, but his mother would not sign for him and forced him to go to USC (yes I know he was a BUST), but it was a cool atmosphere back then. All that was new. People were excited to see all that IN THE COLISEUM…it was a great day, BUT it was still just a spring game. They’re all the same. They’re hot, for the most part they’re boring, but they have they’re moments.

    • Obviously his point is that the fan base has eroded since Pete Carroll fled the approaching NCAA posse for the NFL and USC football suffered under two incompetent head coaches for 6 long years..

  2. Seriously, if on a beautiful spring day you have nothing else better to do than go see a meaningless scrimmage, you should really re-evaluate your life

    • C’mon John that’s a little ridiculous. We love USC. Maybe some of us fans would’ve made the trip to the coliseum if we didn’t have Little League to coach, or family birthdays, or someone was ill, etc, but spring game or not it’s about the passion for USC football. USC Football beats the Dodgers any day at my house. I wanted to be there yesterday and would’ve if I didn’t have other obligations to fulfill. There’s nothing like being at the ol’ Coliseum.

  3. Ya know, I was thinking of all the “fun” things to do in Ohio on a beautiful, sunny 80° day ?

And then all those people missing it because they’re stuck at a Spring College Football game ?

Why didn’t they just spend the day kickin it at the beach ?

Or maybe takin in a Baseball game, or Disneyland, or sitting pool side enjoying a warm Spring Day ??

There’s just soooooo much to do, in Ohio, on a…

    Cold Spring Day !

    They’re really so fortunate ??????????

  4. HAWR-HAWR!!!

wolfman must sit back and LAUGH his furry wolf-butt off when he sees the thin-skinned, OVER-REACTIONS to one simple bit of factual data!!

i’ve never seen a fan base so easily shamed and riled up!!

you gueys need a “safe space”!! i recommend any one of dozens of vanilla-homer-rah-rah sites!! this blog is rough and tumble! and not for the FAINT of heart!!!

    #AUUUUU-WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

  5. Instead of comparing us to a football crazed town with few other options, why don’t you report on SC’s attendance vs. other PAC12 teams, and keep in mind those 23K that attended paid $25 to be there.

  6. Columbus-OH is the biggest city in Ohio and perhaps the dullest. There is absolutely nothing to do there half-way between Cincinnati and Cleveland – nothing to do there.

Oh BTW the Buckeye is the equivalent of a Red Sox or any fan from Massachusetts.

    • The Red Sox are based in Massachusetts? Who knew.

Somebody front Commie SUCC a Fireball for his nugget of information.

For CS’ next trick he will reveal in what state the Cincinnati Reds are based.

      • Bolshevik cell in Hamilton County but hey the atheist moron who mocks the Jew the rest of world loves will go the way as those who live with bile and hate.

You’re to be pitied JustOwns – you are a fool that has few friends and no spouse…you are all alone.

  7. This was a test had it been an actual football game we would instructed where it was being held. Please stay tuned to this blog for further information.

  8. Ever notice how there’s an inverse relationship between the attendance of the Spring Game and it’s location? In other words, the crappier the city/state (Oklahoma, Alabama, Ohio St), the higher their attendance is.
