USC Free Agent Signings

Here’s the initial list of undrafted players who signed free-agent contracts:

Antwaun Woods (Titans), Claude Pelon (Jets), Delvon Simmons (Colts), Soma Vainuku (Texans), Tre Madden (Seahawks). I’m also hearing Greg Townsend is going to sign with the Raiders, his dad’s team.

UPDATED: Linebacker Anthony Sarao signed with the Colts while Townsend did sign with the Raiders.

  1. Will someone please kick Donald Trump in the nuts. Trump-” I thought I was south of the border”
    Damn I hate that SOB!

    • I don’t – you look at the other 16 that have or are about to go down swinging….smooth sailing for them and theirs.

The reason Trump and Sanders have traction is that the elite and theirs (children et. al.) are set for life.

The rest i.e. the ‘hoi polloi’ ‘blank em” that’s the elite message….if you didn’t get on the SEIU, legacy endowment, govt. ransacking pensions, politician sweet ride, movie thespians lucky pull on the slot machine, Derek ‘fryuit basket for banging a bimbo’ Jeter, arriba su….

Trump wins because he says what the vast majority re thinking and the establishment and HIllary don’t.

      • Trump wins because he says what the vast majority are thinking and the establishment and HIllary don’t.and won’t.

You haven’t been paying attention; Trump has already promised touch-back amnesty, negotiations on deportation, socialized medicine, more Planned Parenthood, presidential edicts, one-bathroom-fits-all, and a revision of the Republican stance against slaughtering the innocent.

He’s a liberal who’ll tell any lie to win; even after endorsing him, Dr. Ben Carson has admitted twice publicly that Trump’s deceiving the public. The only thing that Trump has said that it appears he believes — and hasn’t flipped, flopped, and flipped again on — is that there’s something wrong with Islam. Tragically, he has no idea why, and he doesn’t care to find out.

Abraham Lincoln. Frederick Douglass. Harriet Tubman. Ronald Reagan. It’s obvious to anyone who’s paying attention that Donald Trump is neither a Republican nor a Conservative.

He can’t even define the term.

        • All true but few there were that exemplified your list (Carson, Huckabee) the rest were shades of what you noted and not one of them said what the mass majority are both thinking and fearful of.

        • What does Trump’s popularity say about the GOP electorate?

      • handles of Smirnoff on sale at Thrifty, coupons in the throw away in your mail box…..but you being a HIGHLY PAID school teacher….you already knew that…
        BURRRPPPPP

    • Trump all the way. The fact that the establishment politicians on both sides, the media, and many others are afraid of him ALONE makes me like him. He says what he feels, and doesn’t apologize, I love that.

    • Sammy my man, I’ll wager 3/4 of the bozo u student body is Trump orientated.

Ray is just the tip of the iceberg. Fight on.

      • Donald Trump is a malignant narcissist, a red-faced, orange-haired blowhard who’ll tell any lie in order to win. He’s the other side of Hillary Clinton’s two-headed coin.

Look at his record. Look at his own (regularly contradictory) statements. Look at his own people admitting that he’s just saying what some people want to hear.

        Trump’s no Republican.

          • That’s what they said about Reagan when he ran in 1980. “He’ll start WWIII with the Russians!” You need someone tough instead of that metrosexual Obama.

      • If that is true, why did USC cancel an all-star industry game design panel last week for the sole reason that “the lineup was all-male” and it offended students? They have gone Snowflake too.

      • Marv, what do you know? Enlighten me. I may be Hispanic. So what? Fu** Donald Trump!!!

        • Do you know that Cesar Chavez, the Mexican American leader whose birthday we celebrate every year with a holiday, used to go down to the Mexican border to protest the US government letting the illegal aliens come in and take jobs away from his United Farm Workers American workers? He would support Trump’s call for a border wall.

    • So you missed all the rioting illegal immgrants holding up Mexican flags and signs saying ” Make America Mexico Again” and trying to deny the 1st Amendment right of the people to peaceably assemble, sas? Or are you just another preachy Open Borders lib?

      • Take that incident away and he’s still an SOB. Trump wouldn’t pi** on me or you if we were on fire.

        • He’s the only one who says we should have an actual border and he’s an SOB, sas? The murderers and rapists and drug dealers enter and STAY in this country because the GOP allows them to for cheap labor, and and the GOPers join the Prog fascists in calling anyone who opposes this scandal a raaaaacist. I want to ask you, Jeb!, Hillary and the rest of One Big Party one question, “What do you say to the parents of kids like Kate Steinle who were murdered by illegals?

  2. Just wonder what round SW would be taken if there were a draft for sports writers? Hello Lowesman Trophy winner of writers.

  3. SC’s coaching is not developing these players. SC had 4 draft picks. Ohio State had 12. UCLA had 8 plus one(Devin Lucien) who played most of his college career at UCLA(except the last year at Arizona State). I know that UCLA is not bringing in better athletes than SC. So why are they sending more athletes to the pros lately? We can’t compete against the Ohio States and Alabamas until we stop hiring people that we like as opposed to hiring the best people out there. Let’s be honest. Since PC left, USC has been relatively mediocre(with the possible exception of 2011). There is just no reason for that. SC is right in the heart of one of the biggest recruiting markets in the country. The weather is awesome. You have everything that you want….the beach, the desert, the big city, Hollywood, the mountains plus they have great tradition with 11 national championships and 7 Heismans. What more could athletes and coaches want? We got to get rid of the buddy-buddy club of elites that run that university starting with Max Nikias and the board of directors. Until you do, SC will be an 8-4 team and that’s what I predict that they will be this year. If the fans are happy with that, then so be it.

    • Nobody would disagree with that and thanks to Haden we lost two more years….a change has been made…let’s see how 2016 plays out.

Love to see 3-1 for September….who knows?

      • Helton might turn out to be a great coach and Swann may turn out to be a great AD. I like a lot of the things that Helton has done so far. It’s the hiring process that bothers me. The way we are hiring, the only way we will ever get top notch people is by luck.

        • Elite programs don’t continue to just give the top job to interim coaches or coordinators. You go after the best you can get. Period.

          • Whether I feel lucky is irrelevant. I just don’t want to see SC’s football program built on luck. SC is the 2nd richest university in the world. How about if we spend some of that money and go out and hire some proven winners at the HC and assistants positions. Why just roll the dice when you’ve got the money to up your chance to roll snake eyes. As far as “do you feel lucky in 2016”. I feel lucky enough to go 8-4. That’s what I think our record will be before the bowl game.

          • That’s the baffling thing. It is as if ruin graduates became USC administrators and brought their politically correct egghead view of life to USC.

          • I think that there are a lot of people at SC, from professors on up, who are enraged that they make low 6 figure salaries and even less while the football coaches make mid and high 6 figure salaries and the head coaches make 7 figure salaries. You are right when you say that a lot of those same people have politically correct ideas that winning is not that important and everyone should get a trophy(after all, we must not hurt anyones self-image). It’s that way in the northeast too. That’s why you don’t see too many great football programs out there. Of course, you have those same type professors with whacko ideas in the south and the midwest. But down there, they keep quiet because down there football is a religion and if you do things to hinder the football program, you could go from professor to selling hot dogs at the games. But this is the left coast. Los Angeles is La La land. Here those whackos have power.

          • You would certainly think that would be the way to go. But this administration is much more comfortable in status quo. Because of that we get mediocre coaches and that filters down to the team’s performance. I would be happy at 8-4 but I don’t see it.

          • If they get to 8-4 then I think that we have made another bad decision for a HC. I know that they have a brutal schedule but with their talent they should still be able to hit 8-4.

      • Helton didn’t persuade CK to return for another year.

bozo u could have finished 8 – 4 last year with Browne and/or Darnold or a combination of both due to the bozo u cupcake schedule.

Instead, Helton is stuck having to chose an inexperienced QB to win games in arguably a top five hardest 2016 CFB schedule.

    • some tradition….especially those NIKE’S the guy on the statue is wearing….

      • I don’t know about the Nike’s but USC has tradition in football. You won’t find too many people to argue with that.

    • Jim you do realize the 2 classes that make up this draft we took a total of 28 kids. Most of these other schools took 50. If you break down the class we had good draft numbers but like with any classes we had medical problems and some bust.

      • The NCAA did hurt us bad. That’s why I’m praying that McNair wins that court case big and everything comes out. I want the world to see what a bunch of corrupt con men(and women) the NCAA are made up of. They don’t deserve the worlds respect.

  4. Greg Townsend should have played basketball, or run track, because he’s not a football player…lmao …stop And I wouldn’t be surprised if Tre Madden made the Seattle Seahawks roster, because he’s a tough hard runner.

    • Tre Madden is an outstanding running back. The question is, can he stay healthy?

      • Maybe he’s another Gronk who will suddenly get free of the injurty bug in the pros.

        • If he does, I think he’ll be an outstanding running back. He’s big, he runs hard and he’s actually pretty fast too.

  5. Anthony Sarao is tough, but undersized, and could probably make a roster from special teams play
