The Pac-12 athletic directors and head coaches meet in Phoenix this week. And you still have to wonder how influential USC will be at the meetings with Pat Haden on his final month? There’s a lot of issues to discuss like the Pac-12 Network’s future, perhaps the late starting times of some football games and meetings with ESPN and Fox. An interesting side note is the Big 12 is also holding meetings in Phoenix this week.
Maybe they can discuss why the Pac 12 media keeps putting false information out there about USC having the toughest schedule in college football, because that’s a bunch of… BS!
Fred I will no longer refer to you as a rah rah and I don’t care who’s reading this, you hear me out there!!
Fred is a good guy… .

Just seen CBS’ early 2017 mock NFL DRAFT they have…
1. DeShaun Watson Clemson
11. Juju Smith Schuster USC
16. Zach Banner USC
17. Adoree Jackson USC
Three projected 1st Rounders
CBS just lost all credibility by saying Zach Banner, and Adoree Jackson will be #1 draft picks . How did they come to that conclusion ? Because Jackson has almost no experience, and showed vulnerability against deep passes, and Banner was struggling to keep his starting position during spring practice.
AJ’s tackling skills: D- , but don’t worry bozu u fans, Cleveland will draft AJ in the 3rd round. Hue is to be trusted.
Everyone has a flawless. Even Myles Jack. Forget about his injury. A lot of Bruin fans at Inside UCLA say Jack is a prickly and his attitude su**s. He can work on that. AJAX can work on his tackling enough to be a first rounder. Not many CB’s are drafted for their tackling.
Laker Rod is hardly a Bruin fan or a knowledgeable source. MJ fell due to injury nothing else.
I’m referring to your fellow Bruins who said Jack’s attitude is not where you’d think it would be
It was only 2 guys. Laker Rod and xtra something or other that also criticized Rosen’s attitude before the season. Most good players have a bit of an edge to them. It ain’t the choir.
The night of the draft there were about 4 Bruin fans who I’m not familiar with that were saying that. But I think if Jack can stay healthy he’ll be effective. I thought for sure Pete Carroll and the Seahawks were gonna take him at the end. Jack would thrive in Seattle.
For some reason the mention of knee micro-surgery turns NFL coaches off.
We passed on Jack but signed Kenny Clark..He is good kid.
I wish SC signed Clark. Scholarship restrictions or not, Ed Orgeron blew it with Kenny Clarke’s recruitment.
Exactly
True Sammy, people have flaws. However, If you plan on playing CB in the NFL you have to be a strong tackler. AJ is no Deion Sanders.
At best, AJ is a kickoff and punt return specialist – and rarely drafted in the top for rounds.
Hell be fine.
I can see Adoree having a better year and making it inside the first round, but that’s if he completely commits to getting better on Defense. They know he’s a threat on special teams. Zach Banner is a good run blocker, but he’s not a first round pass blocker. His big headed personality has been his downfall. He needs to be more humble towards getting better.
I’m with both of you about Banner, he has size and is a decent athlete witch teams look for but his technique needs a lot of work. He stands straight up in pass pro, has trouble with quick athletic edge rushers, and rely on his size to get in the way of defenders as opposed to move them out of the way.
I also don’t care for his attempt to be a media personality / comedian, like the elevator incident just recently displayed. I think that he has the most to prove this coming season.
Coach Callaway please set this boy straight.
I think Banner has more like 4th round feet. He’s been laughable sometimes. If he improved 100%, I might put him in the 2nd round because of size, pedigree, school, etc.
I am, however, hearing amazing things about our new OL coach, Callaway! Probably flat out the best new addition to the Trojans. At least that’s what Helton thinks. Our OL will be much meaner, nastier and more disciplined going forward.
Look for Damien Mama to be much improved too.
Mama’s due for a huge year. I think with Banner it all starts with his mentality. He’s too much of a goofball. He needs to realize this is his last chance to be a leader and get better. It’s good to be loose and playful, but Banner has to know when it’s time play around and when it’s time to be serious and destroy the guy in front of him. Callaway comes with a lot of recommendation. And he was a bright spot this spring. I think he’ll bring the best out our group of guys.
I doubt it. JuJu will be running routes for inexperienced QB (s).
Juju’s more NFL ready then Agholar, Lee, and Woods in my opinion. He’s got an NFL Physicality to him and they didn’t have that.
Didn’t say he isn’t. I merely stated that he will be running routes for an inexperienced QB (s).
I wasn’t disagreeing or agreeing. Just saying that Smith Schuster is more physically and athletically ready than those three.
Juju will be the most NFL ready. Adoree is quite small and doesn’t tackle well. It will be interesting to see if he translates to the NFL. Outstanding returner and cover guy but small.
He needs to improve on tackling no doubt, but the NFL wants cover corners first before anything. He’s a great all around athlete and he could help a lot of teams out in a lot of different ways. I’d like him to focus more on Defense and special teams. We have enough WR’S.
They are secretly meeting to make one super conference called the Big Pac 20 they will be dropping the smaller schools. Of more importance has anyone told Lynn Swan? I see the writer forgot to mention him…
Dropping the smaller school like ucla? 80 yard practice field is really small-time.
No bozo u women’s softball and Gymnastics team and no men’s Soccer team seem pretty small time to me. Sand Volleyball on nailbiter.
He will be interning for Pat at the meetings.
What teams might be included in a Pac-20 – Would there be four 5 team sections guaranteeing the Pac-20 Champ winner a mandatory spot in the NC playoff?
Don’t worry your pretty little head each division would keep one pasty, so Ucla would be safe.
Hopefully Haden stands up and says “The late kickoffs bother our crappy beat writer. Can we do something about that?”
Nothing like 10:30PM EST kickoffs to promote the Pac 12 to Eastern pollsters.
LOL, ESPN and the writer’s think college football stops at the Mississippi River
No kidding duce, let’s see how many Stanford games are on at 10:30 so the east coast losers can say they haven’t seen McCaffrey play.
With Haden drooling like a vegetable, look for the other 11 to lock in USC for another three straight years with a Thursday night home game.
Hopefully they have double doors wherever they are meeting so double wide Dan can attend
If you are referring to the Pac 12’s most successful and dean of the Pac 12 Athletic Directors, that’s MR. Guerrero to you, sir!
#MrNatty
That’s “Chianti Dan” to you, Allman Brother.
The 75 win team this decade.
Most Pac 12 coaches were sad to hear that Pat was retiring based upon his repeated missteps and inability to control his football coaches. Not as sad as his “National Search Firms” but still sad. The good news for the group is that his golf-buddy clone will be there next year. Cheers!
#anotherroundformybuds!
A snooze fest for sure.
