Like you said the coaching pool seems to be slim pickings. The Maloofs were probably just considering an interview with Bibby as a favor to Mike Bibby. DeMarcus Cousins would tell his agent to start looking for a potential trade. How Bibby’s name was even mentioned for an NBA gig is a mystery to the basketball world.
Henry Bibby was a reach when Mike Garrett hired him , and he rubbed so many people the wrong way when he arrived that nobody cared when he got fired. I remember he was so arrogant that he refused to allow the walk-ons to appear in the media guide, because he didn’t think they deserved the recognition ….lol So like I said on an earlier post, Sacrament Kings GM, Vlade Divac is no fool, and I knew he was not going to hire that Clown, Bibby .
This is true, I remember when he was hired. I found it interesting that his own son Mike, went out of his way to say what a jerk he was. I think he went as far as to call him a dead beat dad if memory serves.
So I asked Stais Boseman about him when Stais came over the next day. Stais eyes opened wider than I’ve ever seen, shook his head and said “Big Rob” he thinks he’s a mix of Bob Knight and the drill Sargeant from full metal jacket. The entire team hated him, and this was two weeks after he got the job.
Does the Garrett-Swann tandem remind anyone else of Sark-Kiffin?
While it’s true Garrett probably couldn’t get in to Augusta, he and Swann seem eerily similar.

LOL one day I followed bibby (by coincidence) in traffic from the south bay up to USC. He had a Benz 550CL coupe/ convertible, black. I had a BMW M5 at the time… I mention that because I had 500Hp and I could not keep up with him ! He was the worst most impatient, jerky, speeding, unsafe drive I think I have ever seen. Weaving erratically between cars, sped up 20-90, jammed on brakes 90-0… How he didn’t crash 12 times in that trip alone still amazes me. My point.. .If he coached or treated others like he drove then he must have been one horrible person LOLOL
