Austin Thomas leaving USC for LSU is still big news in Baton Rouge. Of course, the USC recruitaholics made it a big deal when he came to USC. Thomas gave an interview today with ESPN’s Baton Rouge 104.5 FM radio station.
“Coach (Les) Miles did a great job of really getting on the phone and presenting this to me in a way that made me feel it was the best opportunity,” Thomas said. “(He) made me feel this was best opportunity.”
Thomas also said Ed Orgeron recruited him to come back. Don’t think Orgeron does not mind finding a way to stick it to USC.
“Coach O is one of the best recruiters in country and I had a relationahip going way back with him,” Thomas said. Listen to full interview here
If this guy isn’t a big deal, like the blogger continually states, why does he keep posting about him ?
This story is untrue, Lynn Swann was not sold on his commitment to USC moving forward…Swann allowed him to explore a return to LSU since his wife and family live there. Lynn will announce in a few days, USC has hired a former player to handle the same duties as Austin.. Austin was simply not a good hire!

I still say that something happened back here that encouraged him that SC was not as good an opportunity as it looked when he took the job. He sold his house right away so he must have took the SC job seriously, at least at first. Norm Chow never sold his house in LA while he was at the Tennessee titans, Utah or Hawaii. He lived in a motel. They still have the house today.

3-things had to happen after listening to the “muck” of this interview. #1- Something did happen when Lynn Swann became the USC AD (whether or not Thomas knew of the AD change in advance) #2- Thomas and Helton are not on the same page as to recruiting, or #3- LSU sweetened the deal for Thomas to return (why would anyone leave a program and then 3-months later come back just for the hell of it?)
