Tim Floyd Goes Off

Former USC coach Tim Floyd, now at UTEP, held a press conference yesterday and got into an argument with the local sports-talk radio host. It was quite a show and I’m sure El Paso is buzzing about it.

  1. SW, If it reads it Bleeds, PC (Political Cr@p) both really suck. How about reporting USC Trojan GOOD NEWS rather than Nationwide TRASH ? Give it a shot.

  2. God, I miss Timmy. Was he the guy with the bag of money or was that your other basketball coach that liked to drink and take a swing at female fans?
Put Floyd down as yet another coach that The Wolfman outlasted.

    • How can you say you miss him if you don’t even remember who he was? By the way, he was the guy who allegedly had the bag of money. However, he was completely cleared by the NCAA. FYI.

      • I guess I just miss his angst and anger. After watching the tape I remember how his tie always came undone in the first 4 minutes of a game and how the veins on his neck bulged out and his eyes got all red and puffy. I’m surprised his head didn’t just explode.
He wasn’t the drinker though, that was your Irish guy that tended to swing at female fans.
Tim’s an angry, angry man who likes a fight and that reporter is going to be his personal Scott Wolf for the rest of his time there.

    • mortified, he was not a bag man holding money. I spoke to a former assistant that worked with floyd and he said he did not do this. Now, on the other hand, let us talk about the greatest liar, cheater, hypcrit, and phony balony of all time and that would be, JOHNNY, THEY CALL ME, CHEETIN’ WOODEN. YOU TALK ABOUT A SCUMBAG. YOU HAVE TO BE A SCUM BAG TO TO WORK OR GO THUG u AKA UGLY.
Don’t ever say a word about Floyd when you have that piece of garbage as your god. He was the biggest piece of crap of all time.

  3. Floyd was one of the better basketball coaches we were privileged to have at USC. However his treatment here was hardly fair. The downside was his addiction to nicorette (per his pharmacist) which resulted in occasional outbreaks of temper and the inevitable subsequent technical. Had he been provided with proper medical/therapeutic treatment, it is my contention that he would have been the #1 hoops coach in cardinal and gold history (I have no direct knowledge of Holbrook or Sam Barry). It appears that some of the same agitation still exists. A shame, because he has excellent coaching skills.
As an aside…Taking “OK” out of his vocabulary could be tantamount to rendering him almost speechless. (It was a tough 35 minutes to negotiate through.)

    • Don’t know the BR of Floyd’s MH, but was astounded, and very happy when bozo u let Floyd go.

Harris and I agree on little except that Floyd could coach basketball. He had the experience to coach bozo u to a NC.

Prior to hiring Alford, I wondered if UCLA considered Floyd as a possible HC candidate.

  4. I wonder how many coaches at SC feel the same about SW as Floyd does towards the El Paso dude?

      • Apparently SoCal coaches are smarter than Floyd.
Floyd spent 25 minutes giving excuses for not winning.
That reporter is going to roast him on a daily basis until he’s gone.
Maybe Garrett eventually gets him back.

        • Hopefully the New Mexico fans are as smart as USC fans are see right thru jealous, petty reporters.

  5. USC should never have fired Tim Floyd. He was the best coach that the failed experiment of USC Trojan basketball (let’s be honest about that) has ever had. I wish they had him back.

    F-ing Mike Garrett….

  6. Money Quote: “i’ve worked with Great Journalists in Chicago, and LA….” wolflman, he talking about YOU, baby!!!!

    AUUUUUUU-WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
