Charlie Weis Owes USC A Big Thank You For His Millions

Former Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis made his reputation (in my opinion) off a narrow loss to USC. And it helped him gain a huge contract. Despite being fired in 2009, Weis received $2,054,744 in 2014 according to Notre Dame tax records. That is more than current coach Brian Kelly made in 2014 ($1.62 million). Weis was scheduled to be paid through December, 2015.

      • That didn’t mean much back then because everybody was curb stomping little blue bears. Today they have a solid mid Pac12 record and coach who has love in his heart.

        • Thirteen out of sixteen…seven straight conference championships…seven straight BCS Bowl games…back to back National Championships…three Heisman Trophies…let me know when you’re gutless Bruins even get into that neighborhood.

          • That and defeating Stanford last night at bel-air tech’s home pool….oh the horror!

          • What is even better, that the Thugs of thug U aka ugly had to watch the national championship being played in their cess pool knowing that they can’t beat either team in any sport. They know, we know, and the entire world knows that Thug U aka ugly sucks and they are U Clowns Lose Again. Their should have been a sucide watch over there. They having to watch superior intellect and athelitcism just had to make them crawl into the fetal position and tell themselves that they have a good paying job delivering pizza.

  2. I liked this story a lot more when ESPN ran it on May 18th, 2015 and Grantland in 2014 and Yahoo! Sports in May of 2013. I think you still get a trophy for 4th these days. Wolf, doin’ work!

  7. Hmmm. It pays to be a mediocre coach. Charlie hasn’t been a huge success as a teacher of football, but his negotiating skills are tops.

    • Hey give Charlie credit for scoring big when he was a hot commodity. It had nothing to do with SC at the time.

  8. Pray tell when was the last time UCLA played in any game that had any meaning to themselves save against USC and Stanford?

    They lose lose lose but man are they good at bile and hate.

    • Well we could say the same thing about the bozo u’s Men’s’ basketball team. Spanky runs around screaming we beat UCLA three time, only to have bozo u go ONE and DONE in the Tournament – that’s the 9th time bozo u has been ejected from the Tournament in their 1st game in 17 appearances. Joka, joka, joka.

      As Andyain’twinning says, winning is why basketball recruits sign with bozo u basketball.

      • Not true squatter, USC cannot porlcaim to have the Most Cheating Coach of all time, and that would be Johnny, they call me Cheetin’ Wooden who paid for 10 titles.
        BTW, you still have not answered my quesiton, and that is, why do you refer USC as bozo u? As we all know, USC is superior in education and sports over Thug U aka ugly. So from now on, you will refer Thug U as bozo u or u clowns lose again. There is no other logic, squatter.

  11. Adoree is 1ft away from qualifying for the U.S team. He won’t do it. Needs to concentrate on football.

  12. Charlie Weis is a perfect example of how most athletic directors don’t have a clue what to look for when hiring football coaches. They look for everything but a successful resume from previous schools, and lean towards media hype that has nothing to do with the coaches leadership skills, or recruiting.

    • The Weis hiring is also a cautionary tale that alums of your school is not an indicator of success. Much was made of Weis graduating from ND and his self-proclaimed “schematic advantage.” (Hint: ND alums are obviously smart which SHOULD translate into wins).

      Weis was all media hype for his OC tenure at New England but as USC fans know well (Paul Hackett), being an OC guru means nothing without the HC leadership skill set.

  13. LOL. It’s been now revealed that bozo u was Fatty Arbuckle’s favorite football team. It’s been further revealed that Fatty once supplied all the female entertainment for a 1920’s ballot box FB NC convention.
