USC All-American tailback Clarence Davis gains yards against Nebraska in a 21-21 tie with the Cornhuskers at the Coliseum in 1970. Nebraska defensive tackle Larry Jacobson (75) won the 1971 Outland Trophy. Linebacker Jerry Murtaugh (42) had 25 tackles in the game.
That was an interesting game. I thought we were going to win. But there were no overtime rules back then and although I hate tie games I am glad the game didn’t go on. Overtime has brought out the wimp factor in football. Too many coaches are afraid to go all out to win if a tie will get them to overtime.
I was there !!!!!!
Looks like two inches of water on the field, El Nino?
A real tough year – but nothing beat that implosion against ‘THE Princess’
I approve of this lush’s pathetic rant.
