USC defeated Arizona State, 31-9, today. The Trojans also defeated the Sun Devils, 21-14, in the 1998 College World Series championship game. That is also a football score. Except at USC. In 1,215 footbal games in USC history only twice, when the Trojans ended No. 1-ranked California’s 38-game regular season unbeaten streak in 1951 at Berkeley and 2012’s loss at Stanford, has the final score been 21-14.

  1. MY first year going to games,he was a JC transfer, and a legend in his own time…

  2. Wow that is a statistic few people would keep in conversation for very long.
“Say did you know USC beat the check out a someone in baseball and speaking of baseball- they only had a score of 21to 14 in football twice in a whole bunch of games.”

  3. What????!!! No blogger mention that’s more points than the football team scored. Sorry scottie you are off your game.

  4. Troubling part is that the Trojans beat Utah two out of three this season while Utes were a sub .500 team overall. They qualify by
winning the Pac 12 conf. although in the past you had to be better
than .500 to get an invite.

    • Well Steve, if you are in the SECACCESPN, if you’re at or near .500 not only do you get an invite to the tournament, you get to host a regional.
