Petros Papadakis On Pat Haden

HADEN.NIKIASPetros Papadakis tackled the Pat Haden situation on his radio show today. Some excerpts:

“In 2010, (USC president) Max Nikias hired a business tycoon (Haden) to administer the athletic dept. The USC A.D. job is beneath him. Schools should hire people with experience of being university administrators.

“Does USC have a systemic problem? Does USC suffer from blind trust? It begs the question how strenuously was Clay Helton vetted? Did USC make sure Lynn Swann was vetted? I hope Helton and Swann enjoy more success and less drama than Steve Sarkisian and Pat Haden did.”

  1. So typical of Petros and those who think one story always paints a bigger picture. Now it’s as if Swann and Helton are totally doomed to failure. What a joke. Supposedly no shot at being great at USC, a place where Petros and his father were both very mediocre.

USC’s filled with great people who are leading the school to enormous success both on and off the field. Without USC, Petros wouldn’t even be on L.A. radio and SW wouldn’t be blogging.

    Makes me laugh.

    • True ‘but’ let’s see what NIkias et. al. do – are they going to take action per Haden? Allow it to run out a week from Thursday? Do they retain him for the Coliseum renovation?

100% right about Papadakis and his boring full-of-himself father and yes USC has great people – the problem 20th June 2016 is that the most public figure of USC turns out to be a thief and that ain’t goin’ away no how, no way soon.

      • Let the Trolls, SW and Petros get all lathered up about it. Let the BOT, the biggest donors and the most capable USC administrators decide what to do. Some real brains there. I have confidence in them. For those who don’t, too bad you’re powerless, as always.

          • True, Haden is too much a part of the old guard that thinks they’re invincible and don’t need to follow rules. Good thing you guys found a real game changer that doesn’t think like the typical SoCal egomaniac.
A guy that isn’t part of the “White bread” establishment you so despise. A member of that cutting edge, progressive club they call Augusta. No white bread there, right boss?

          • NO white bread – truly thou art – you have to learn to use that ad hominen at the right time and with the right amount of seasoning ergo thou truly art!

But I digress – this is the social media era you can’t ‘hide’ or worse ‘deny’ today as you could say back in 1976 when the Peckerhead has his adoring morons and the 4th estate covering his boney rear end.

The Woodrow will always be the biggest fraud to never get called on it outside of another ‘hero’ Jack our Jack….it is the question as to which of the ‘Johns’ was that church in mid-town Manhattan named after.

“Oh come let us adore him…the biggest coward in sports..

          • Funny you despise “white bread” and are a SoCal fan. Even more entertaining that your new A.D. is a member of Augusta National.
Out with the old Augusta Member, in with the new Augusta member. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

          • No way is he a bigger coward than super Mario. LMFAO! Didn’t you know that danelos don’t bounce! ROFLMFAO!! SPLAT! Face plant!

        • Did you really use the words “capable” and “USC administrators” in the same sentence and have no comedic intent?

    • Watch how this plays out in the legal system, Haden was paid by the foundation with no issue by anyone.. Somehow I tend to believe the NCAA leaked this info to show USC and its leaders as careless business leaders.. the media bit, and those like Petros will get hit with a slander suit .. He just burned a huge bridge.. He is a clown anyway, and loves the attention.. Will see.. McNair fallout by him leading against the NCAA…

      • “..no issue by anyone.”

Well perception is reality – the ‘chunk’ wasn’t moved by Haden until he became the head of the foundation. That’s when his sister and daughter-in-law got that sweet ‘gift’ from Pat and Pat took a little more for himself.for Pat.

        The court of public opinion

        • I keep hearing different stories.. I look at it this way .. 6/30 is fast approaching, See you goodbye.. The previous COB of the foundation who passed paid him for his services.. then he took over .. From my understanding of 501s ..is that no more than 3 members can get paid through the 501 .. a percentage of monies to be given for sole purpose and then a percentage of hours related to services paid to the 3 listed as COB, Director, and Secretary. Mind blowing if Haden was a fraud.. Not sure though.

          • All of the above is true but that’s in the legal realm. The perceived malfesance (exploitation for gain) didn’t commence until he had control as COB.

    • ONE story?
      Are you serious?
      It’s like The Never-ending Story.
Jackie Boy, you’ve got to stop drinking the SCool Aid.

      • USC owns L.A. little gutty. The only thing going on at ucla is you sitting in USC’s dust and you prove it every day over here.

Do you bruins have any more serial killers in the pipeline. Will they only target other bruins on campus?

        • Jack,
I just listened to the podcast. This isn’t an Petros accusation it’s an LA Times series of articles on potential wrongdoing at the expense of underprivileged kids by a very, very privileged SoCal Athletic Director. Wow!
          This is incredible.
Apparently the LA Times will continue to investigate HadenGate.
Great news because with NBA done, we have something to watch besides baseball; HadenGate!
You guys are always so entertaining.

          • OJ, A.C, Petey, McNair, Garrett, Bush, Floyd, Petey, Sark, Kiff, now Haden.

the Southern Cal Hall Of Shame will need to be bigger than “Heritage” Hall!!

            #SomeHeritage

        • #2BrokeTrogans want the raiders to stay in the shiiiiiite hole that is oakland, while Cassey Wasserman is bringing you the Super Bowl…. .

          #ClownU runs the circus, ha!

    • Yeah better than the coverup of the Peckerhead. that smelly coward. The absolute best was when grandpa from he(( was asked about Gilbert “I have a clear conscience, I did nothing….” Good ole Col. Peckerhead….his favorite two words ‘Nellie help!”

      • You always want to talk about cowards. How about we look at some real cowards? How about super Mario Danelo who face planted of a cliff cause he couldn’t take it? Or Jr seau (Bang!) who took the coward way out? Hahahahahahahahaha!

    • this just in….Haden is a dooshbag.

don’t you think it’s queeer that he has not had one word to say about this mess??? he’s the AD!!!

even Sark had the guts to face the music. and trust me, facing the wolfman with his notepad in hand is like facing Zorro with his sword.

  2. All that matters is winning football games.
I remember so many SoCal football fans laughing off the NCAA investigation of Reggie Bush until the sanctions hit. Not so funny after the sanctions hit. Lack of institutional control I believe was the term they used. Could that same lack of control go further right up to the current A.D.
More drama at SoCal Football. Let’s see if Sneaky Pete’s bailout strategy works for St. Pat or if there is enough emerging morality among more principled alumni and community members to admit the Emperor has no clothes.

  3. Pat Haden was brought in to give the appearance of a cleaned up department. This was a move to make the NCAA happy. It didn’t work.
Haden got advice on football coach hires from his horoscope and other coaches were brought in to make someone happy.
If he had known what was doing, we might not talking about him.
As for coach Helton he’s been around long enough to be a known quantity.
Lynn Swann on the other hand, who knows if he has what it takes? He hasn’t coached or directed a department, so what does he bring to the table?

  4. Nikias and Haden are losers when it comes to the athletic dept. The school is nothing in the major sport programs with the vaunted Women Water Polo, Beach Volleyball, and Lacrosse being the flagship of excellence. Who knows about Swann if he will have some feel for hiring a real good coach which is needed in a lot of areas.

  5. As the USC soap opera continues, Mike Garrett’s tenure looks that much better.

  6. Petros is upset because he lost his announcing job at SC. As I listen to his crazy radio show he’s extremely critical of SC. He never discusses North Carolina football and their academics or Ole Miss. I’m waiting for his opinion on Alabamas players who won’t be charged for felony gun possession.

    • Amusing how “Mr Integrity” Haden was supposed to clean up this cesspool, but ended up being dirtier than Mr Reggie!!
