UCLA Coach Jim Mora Announces He And Wife Are Separating

UCLA coach Jim Mora announced he and his wife, Shannon, are separating after more than 30 years of marriage. Here’s a statement from his agent, Jimmy Sexton, who also represents Clay Helton and Lane Kiffin.

“After much thought and careful consideration, Jim and Shannon Mora have decided to separate. This was a very difficult decision and they appreciate the respect for their family’s privacy at this time.”

    • That’s really pretty unusual. Crappy marriages for all those Los Angeles coaches. Seems like you’d have to be a saint, and a perfect one at that, to be married to a college or pro football coach. Not sure how these football widows stick it out.

    • How’s that?, Mora hasn’t been fired by UCLA and relocated with about $15 bozo u millions and relocated to Alabama or forced to participate in a 45 day dry out session at the B. Ford Clinic.

I mean Commie SUCC unloads his wife, an empty bottle(s) of Ripple a daily – no biggie.

    • i’d say so. every spare moment, i bet he thinks about all of that $$$ he is pissing away on mediocre education.

      • You’re right bro. Safer in Westwood drives up my blood pressure. My apologies pal.

        • Yeah, the screen name says it all, I get it. It’s been a while, How’s Vegas? I’ll be out there for the first Saturday of the season.

          • I don’t live in Vegas. I believe Michael Gaurino or Ray does. But I’m bud. Thanks for asking. How you doing in NY?

          • My bad. Just got back to NYC, I’ve been dealing with Brexit in London this week, so I have some sleep to catch up on.

          • Gosh Mr. Greenspan, so you’ve been dealing with Brexit. Was the game afoot?

I’m hoping you were long in Pounds.

Please don’t tell us you and Mushy, Mushy dined late at a very private table for 6 at the Club.

          • Thank you. Also, you have always been kind to me and I thank you for that. I try to reciprocate with u as well

          • With u it is fun and respect for you. Others who come on I here not so much due to them looking for trouble

          • That’s a little more tricky to answer: we are a private partnership, similar to a law firm, but we raise capital from our limited partners (LPs) (pension funds, insurance companies, endowments, high net worth individuals, etc.) and without that capital we wouldn’t exist as a company. We usually charge are LPs a 2% management fee depending on the check size and then we take 20% of the profits from our investments once we clear a certain hurdle (between 8-10% annually depending on the fund). I hope that answers your question.

          • Yes you answered my question. Thank you. With this situation u have to be more astute to the market since your exposure and liability are larger than a regular trading house. Be careful. Reward is higher but liability is worse for u

          • Yes and no, a hedge fund has the same business structure we do, but a different investment strategy. They invest in public equities which has daily volatility. The companies we own are all private and we hold them for between 5-7 years, so daily exposure isn’t as big a factor for us as long term macro trends are.

          • Let me ask you another question, do you like REITS? I have shares with Annaly, NLY, and the yield is strong.

          • I think they are great cash flow vehicles and far less volatile than other 40 Act companies like BDC’s, imho they sit at the nexus between equites and fixed income. They rarely outperform the broader market, but they are also relatively insulated from daily volatility, although not as safe as a state or municipal bond, which I love since they’re tax free. With all that being said, I wouldnt claim to be expert on the subject.

          • I like the one I have. It stays with in a $1.50 range and sells around $10.50 a share. U can buy a lot at that price. I lucked into this one. I’m not that strong dealing with the stock market.

          • I’d look into REITs that invest heavily in retail and cold storage. A big but still long term trend effecting a lot of retailers is that consumers are just as likely to shop online as they are in the store, which is going to eventually catchup to the commercial space. But companies will still need storage facilities for their inventory. I think cold storage is pretty interesting because it’s a supply chain necessity for parishable goods and no matter the economic climate we still need to eat.

          • I believe the one I have invests into apts with tenancy. That is a necessity. However, maintenance is higher with tenancy compared to storage. The nice thing about REITS is that they have to pay 90% of the profit to share holders

          • He’s much worst that that but regardless that’s why we all blocked him.

          • “You’re a clown.” That’s it, from heap big financial wiz. You were long in Pounds in weren’t you? Way to go Greenspan.

My problem is you, the”Ugly American,” bragging about dealing (or saving the empire?) with Brexit, but still having time to post on a bozo u blog – you’re quite the multitasker.

            D. Cameron, I’m sure, has you on speed dial.

NYC you’re a discredit to UCLA. It seems you have your finger on the pulse of UK failure.

          • Not much left after the bozo u blog sales pitch?

Hey Greenspan how many times a week do you use the noun “Nexus.”?

          • Perfect response. Not much more needed. And think about this, he’s trolling another Bruin fan on a Trojan blog.

  2. Interesting to see what happens to their ‘ Count On Me’ foundation and that ‘Celebrity Charity Golf Tournament’ at Riviera CC.

  3. Surprise surprise – nothing on the inside socal dot forward ucla site.

    A pure ‘homer’ site.

    • The story is his wife got tired of the face cupping and painting. Plus she stated she wants a husband that can win a big game.

    • Unbelieveable, 90 SW posts on the Mora’s pending divorce topic.LOL.

I know bozo fans, you’re tired of whining about your crummy FB team.

      • So can we use that same logic about the amount of post you make about USC teams? I would say your 500 Bozo references speak to the kind of year UCLA is having.
        #itsallaboutthesoftball

        • Yeah, Bucket Owns, the bozo u chick are cranking: Beach Blanket Bingo, sandbox, Wallyball NC’s. Hot Box burritos on the house. Snore.

Now remind me BOT, what big boy sport 2016 NC has the bozo u manly men won?

          • Well if we are measuring by NC guess that leaves you football team in a hot mess.
            #neverwonanything

      • Hey Manny, you’re not going to tell me that you’re a little worked up, are you?

  4. Question to the class – Just how far will Papadakis go on Monday? I’m betting he says little to nothing and shows what a gutless clown he is.

    • What’s there to say, people get divorced. It doesn’t sound like domestic abuse or infidelity. How does that make for interesting radio, honest question?

        • How far do you go in bad mouthing your boss at work? Yes, it’s annoying to hear them ball wash Mora, but you can’t knock a guy for trying to keep his job.

          • Let’s say te issue wasn’t Mora’s marriage rather something akin to what Haden has done i.e. PMS is just as CNN and MSNBC are – if a fact is thrown at ‘la bruja’ igdore it.

  5. If the divorce becomes contentious, I’m betting Mora looks to jump ship, preferably to the NFL as a HC if a job opens up. Gotta pay the lawyers and Shannon for all the money she’s gonna try to take him for. His current UCLA salary won’t be nearly enough to cover the tab.

Getting a divorce is not merely getting a piece of paper that says so. Ask any guy who has ever gone through a divorce. You really can get taken to the cleaners.

      • A higher salary doesn’t make a divorce easier to settle. They usually make it more heated and volatile.

The key thing is how “contentious” the divorce turns out to be.

If Shannon is the woman scorned, well then “Hell hath no fury…”

    • What ship have you having Mora Jump? bozo u fans chug a glass of wine and start hallucinating about Mora jumping to the NFL.

Since Mora has been the HC bozo u has blown through 5 HFBC’s. Helton alone has been a interim HC twice before “St Pat” took a LOA from his Scholastic Foundation gig. and anointed Helton the real HC.

    • That’s a nice game plan but he can’t leave before this December and that means he has to do better than he has the last two years.

  6. A more reliable source says Mora was married in 1992, so that doesn’t =30 years.

  7. So here I am honoring Mr. Mora’s privacy as requested.
It should be noted they are separated not divorced.
There probably isn’t a good reason for this, but I am sure there is a reason. I wish them both well.

      • Would that be the baby blue? Which by the way I just noticed is the color of all the comment names here.
Why is my name bruin blue ???

  8. That is too bad. I hope and pray they can resolve their differences.

  9. As a human, I wish him well. Divorces are tough. I’ve been through two myself.
