Argentina is Oregon
England is Notre Dame@ColinCowherd compares soccer powers to CFB programs. #HerdHerehttps://t.co/pyflA91Pus— Herd w/Colin Cowherd (@TheHerd) June 28, 2016
Colin Cowherd showed his soccer ignorance today when he compared Notre Dame to England: “Used to be better. Last 30 years mostly hype.”
England has won one World Cup (1966) and really done nothing else. Notre Dame has won 11 national titles. It went to the BCS title game in 2012. England fans would kill to make another World Cup title game. Or to beat Iceland.
He’s warmer comparing Brazil to USC: “USC is Brazil. You always think they should be better. Unbelievable skill. Really good on the perimeter. Huge brand. Some of the best players ever.”
Of course his USC analogy is better because he is a USC homer.
I agree about Argentina & Oregon. They both cheat like hell and still never win championships.
UCLA is Hungary. They almost won something in 1954.
So USC almost won something in 1939, 1974, 1978 and 2003, Jethrahrah?
Troy, If that makes you happy, sure.
And don’t forget ’04
So you would agree it is dumb for USC fans to take away 5 shared titles in an attempt to denigrate the ruins one shared title.
GT22. Shared or not. All fan bases claim them like USC. Its no different anywhere else. It is what it is.
My point is it’s dumb for a USC fan to say the ruins 1954 championship isn’t legit when USC has 5 shared titles. There are so many other ways to mock them without mocking ourselves in the process.
No but if all they had was a single shared title from 62 years ago it’d be pretty pathetic.
So you think USC’s recent claiming of a national championship from 1939 is “pathetic”?
Bullseye.
Argentina is one of the most successful national football teams in the world, having won 2 World Cups in 1978 and 1986. Argentina has been runners up three times in the 1930 World Cup, 1990 World Cup and 2014 World Cup.
But their championships are like Wooden’s – tainted as hell. They’re still paying off Peru for taking the dive that got them to the final in 78.
And the hand of a goddamned fat coke addict got them past England in ’86
Like the goddamned coke addict Charles White that led USC to the 1978 national title? You can’t be this stupid, can you Jethrahrah?
You really don’t want to get high and mighty about tainted championships after the 1982 Zumberge report on USC football. Just call it even and move on. I will take 11 football championships over 11 basketball championships any day.
Brainless Argentina rah rah
http://www.ussoccer.c is brainless, Jethrahrah?
link didn’t work
LOL
Wait a minute! Argentina was a well known safe haven for Nazis after WWII. You defend Argentina so you must be a Nazi!
Hey everyone, gotroy22 is a Nazi!
I was trying to relate to you, Kurt Waldheim Jr.
Cowherd = longtime immensely successful national sports talk show host who is also on Fox TV. Earns millions.
SW = local smalltime L.A. blogger with sweatshirt fetish who asks USC fans for answers and knows everything you never cared about re Game of Thrones.
I think Cowherd would go for the jugular and rip SW a new one if he ever interviewed SW on air.
sas, are you the Colin Cowherd of Inside USC?
Never. Those shoes are too big to fill.
He wouldn’t give SW the time of day.
One is slender, married and has hair… the other not.
You call me stupid, but you don’t know what a sentence fragment is. Jack, you are a lot of fun.
Lmao
Another day, another victim – today it’s Cowherd. There must be a list somewhere – Kiffin, Sark, Haden, Cowherd – these guys top the list of those getting their “head crushed” by the “head crusher” – just like the Kids in the Hall comedy skit
Link didn’t work . And Kiffin , Haden and Sark are “victims” after all they have done to USC football?
You and i were making so much progress – the DOT is replaced with a dot as in dotcom
It’s nothing personal, it is a tradition going back to the days of Garry Bleauz (RIP).
That is an official inside SC joke then
Exactly, something that escapes the humorless Dr. Rachel Maddow of Inside USC.
She loves you, you love her
The dude will never learn.
Weird. Whenever a link is posted it never works for me at this site. But at ReignOfTroy it works. I give up.
Unfortunately links are screened from being posted here, so they are disguised by replacing the . with a (DOT)
So you can cut and paste but need to replace the (DOT) with a .
Ok got it
I haven’t thought of that skit in years. Perhaps my favorite of theirs: “This is f’ing good ham, Mom.”
who cares? Is this “reporting,” “INSIDE USC?” F no.
This blog has become anything but “inside” and nothing about “USC”
I think he nailed it for the most part. I get the green-eyed monster that crept into Scotti’s analysis – this is the sort of thing he probably wished he’d come up with.
Dining aboard last night, Tiffany asked the Countess about a homer. She replied, “Yes, he is best known as the author of the Iliad and the Odyssey. He was believed by the ancient Greeks to have been the first and greatest of the epic poets.” As Homer might say, “Enjoy the journey and when you arrive enjoy the destination.”
It’s lafite, Dbag.
….and Cowherd is Greece, marginal talent, huge creepy eyebrows and partially communist.
Is Greece a shameless kiss up too?
Plus Greece won the Euros in ’04. Highly doubtful Wolf has ever won anything.
Are the Greeks obsessed with Malcolm Gladwell, too?
As both a big USC and Brasil fan the parallels are uncanny. Always loaded with talent, recently plagued by crappy coaching and institutional ineptitude (or corruption).
Institutional ineptitude and corruption desribes Pat Haden’s reign of error.
Quickly off Topic:
If Golden St signs Kevin Durant. I said IF…Then they will have three of the best scorers in the NBA with Steph Curry, Clay Thompson and Durant. Plus Dramond Green who many consider the best all around player in the league now. I hope Durant stays away from GS and San Antonio.
Who gets the shots with that many stars?
Good point. But that’s a SQUAD.
The NBA won’t let that happen. That’s why Chris Paul plays for the clippers
I hope not. And the Lakers got screwed in that Paul deal. We didn’t get the Dwight Howard we thought we were getting, but he would’ve benefited and played much better with Chris Paul. So I hope not. This is pretty much the same thing right?
Cowherd is right. ‘The Princess’ is desperate to have some relevance but the dual cowardice and greed of no conference, no conference championship game is steadily eroding what respect left from the pat 4-day and Wetzels of the media.
Scott your jealousy and envy is telling.
