It always feels like a politician is talking when Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott answers a question: You don’t quite get an an answer and don’t really feel satisfied by what he says. Here’s what Scott says about the fact a mere four games might start earlier than 7 p.m. in an effort to reduce night games.
“We know it’s important to fans and schools. Within the parameters of the TV agreement, we’ve done all that’s possible to mitigate some of the friction.”
Read more of his doublespeak here.
This dufus is in it for himself. He runs the Pac 12 like it is the sun belt league. This is the premiere league and the pac 12 should only play on Saturday. Let the other leagues play Thursday and Friday. U don’t see Bama playing a Thursday or Friday night game, neither should usc
Preach it. Let the other leagues be the filler games.
You know why Scott is suspicious of Larry? It’s a DNA thing. Scott’s first impulse is to tell the truth (as he sees it). Larry’s first impulse is to run the truth through 19 different filter systems before it comes out of his mouth.

earlier than 7? You mean later?
English translation: “To hell with the fans and athletes, it’s only the TV money that matters.”
I guess proofreading is a lost art. First “won” vs. “one” and now “less” instead of “fewer” (which was correctly used in the linked article, but changed incorrectly here). Minor I know, but it’s a pet peeve of mine.
FEWER night games, Wolf.
Larry Scott couldn’t run a two car funeral. It is obvious that this guy is only in for the 3 mill salary. All the other considerations do not count. With the Big 10 and the Sec getting huge dollars for games, the SC gets 2 mill a year?!. Don’t be surprised if this puts the Pac 12 into Mountain West territory in the future.
My dead grandmother could schedule “within the parameters of the TV agreement”. It’s this fools job to get more favorable “TV parameters”. He has failed miserably…..as expected. HADEN is Gone Today !!!!!!!
Whaet he is really saying is, “I got us in this screwed up contract and now I can’t do a darn thing to get us out. Trust me”.
Larry Scott is a terrible commissioner.
