Former USC guard O.J. Mayo was banned from the NBA for at least two years “for violating the terms of the NBA/NBPA Anti-Drug Program.” Mayo can apply for reinstatement in two years.
Testing positive for a drug of abuse (amphetamine, methamphetamine, MDMA, cocaine LSD, opiates heroin, codeine, morphine or PCP) can trigger an automatic dismissal and disqualification from the league.
Mayo, who played for the Milwaukee Bucks last season, was a free agent.
