USC Picture Of The Day

USC.WASH.2004

Here’s a game during USC’s 37-2 record from 2003-05. USC linebacker Dallas Sartz tackles Washington quarterback Isaiah Stanback during a 38-0 victory over the Huskies at the Coliseum.

  1. Dallas Sartz. He was pretty solid on a team with stars everywhere. I think he was slowed down by injuries later his junior or senior year.

    • You might be right. When we were on campus together, I thought he was just a soft pretty boy.

  2. Getting beat by a score of 38-0 is truly embarrassing but at least the Huskies can say they didn’t lose 50-0.

    • What’s even worse is the pitiful little gutty Trolls claim they still won the South title that year. It’s in their blood.

  3. Those were the days my friend of real Trojan football. A decade has passed so quickly to being slightly above average now. Bad coaching choices since Pete. Hope Helton proves to be better than my expectations of his ability.

  4. Those were the days when players dominated their position. And competition for playing time was a real thing because the 2&3 deep roster was real. And finally bump tackling was not a “thing” that was even mentioned. I hope the coaching changes bring back some real football for a while.
That is until the SECNCAA gets tired of West coast teams and slaps us down again.

    • it’s queeer how you trOXans seem to have blocked out the truth behind the “slap down” you received from the NCAA. while you suggest the NCAA was for some reason upset by Petey’s limited success, the TRUTH behind the sanctions had MORE to do with hundreds of thousands of dollars in ill gotten loot raked in by Mr. Reggie and Steve McNair!!

i wake up every day and thank God for an NCAA who upholds justice and responds to cheating with great vengeance and FURIOUS anger!!!

      • It must be hard to see the world through baby blue colored glasses. Reggie Bush may or may not have broken rules although indications are his stepfather did the rules breaking-it did not rise to the level of punishment inflicted. All evidence that the SEC wanted to put USC in its place aside, was Reggie Bush (or any one player) worth ten scholarships? When the past practice was two or less a year, the NCAA ignored their own rules. It makes no difference who did what the NCAA went out of its way to punish USC. It’s like shoving a kid’s hand in the fire for striking a match.
If the shoe were blue and on your foot, you’d holler too.

        • OMG! look at your comment: “Reggie May or may not have broken rules……” that is coo-coo CRAZY!!! he literally drove around in his ill-gotten loot, and took cash, clothes and luxury travel, IN ADDITION to housing for his entire tribe!!! he knew EXACTLY where this came from! he made the deal with Lake and McNair helped him.

it was this HUBRIS exemplified by SIth Lord Garrett that added a few extra kicks in the butt to the sanctions!!

          • And you saw this? He drove a car yes do YOU know who bought it? Were you there? I freely admit he broke rules but I will never know the true extent due to a tainted investigation. Leaked emails prove how corrupt the NCAA was and when the head of the COI ‘s team got caught with their fingers in the pie they were slapped on the wrist and sent on their merry way.
Facts are facts no team has faced as harsh a penalty for one player’s misdeeds.

          • Reggie asked for and received the money from Lake. then asked for more money to add rims and later more money for stereo and alarm system. it’s in the NCAA report. i have the tabbed copy on my desk if you’d like to read it for yourself.

        • i suppose nothing, Snarky Snarkenheimer.

you just got my assistant suspended w/out pay for 30 days….(i dictate my comments into a tape recorder which is then transcribed).
