Fox Sports 1 Hires Steve Sarkisian!

SARK.CELEBRATE.ASUFormer USC coach Steve Sarkisian will do more than half a dozen games as an in-booth analyst for Fox Sports 1, according to a source. None of the games are Pac-12 games and most involve Big 12 teams. You knew Fox would always be the first to hire him. With all his buddies working there (Colin Cowherd, Matt Leinart) it was a no-brainer. It’s called Image Rehab 101.

  1. I never like to kick a guy when he’s down, but in this case I’ll make an exception. Sark will be hard pressed to sit in front of a background with beer logos on it. The first game he does will be the test. When he starts second guessing the coach, fans are going to scream.

  2. Big deal about nothing. Friends get friends jobs sometimes. Employment 101.

Glad he has the chance to keep busy while he’s trying to drag himself out of a self-imposed hole none of us would like to be in.

I have no idea whether Sark’s got the chops to be a TV analyst. But I don’t think he’s much of a head coach, so unless he’s satisfied with being a coord or position coach, I hope the TV deal works for him. There’s no reason for him to serve a lifetime sentence for his SC fiasco. The guy’s probably died a thousand deaths already.

    • Well said – well said. No one bats 1.000 and for those in the ‘public eye’ the fall is there for all to see and for many to gloat.

  3. He wasn’t a very good coach but he’s been in the business for a long time so I don’t see why he couldn’t be as good an analyst as anybody else. True…..he’s an alcoholic but I’ll bet that there’s a lot of people in the news media, sports and otherwise, who are alcoholics and manage to function well enough to make a career out of it.

    • Neuheisel wasn’t exactly the second coming of Red Sanders yet he turned out to be a decent analyst. No reason why Sark couldn’t be. Can’t be any worse than Petros.

      • Neuheisel could still become another Red Sanders. All he has to do is take his last breath in a shady hotel room while “visiting a friend”.

  4. I guess Wolf would prefer to see Sark on Skid Row.

Congrats to Sark as he gets his life in order. Good luck and be strong.

    • Yeah, Flow would rather see him crawl into a hole and never see the light of day again. Hey, Sark clearly couldn’t make it work at USC and left quite a mess, but good on him for getting something put together in order to move on. Hopefully it lasts, for his sake.

  5. I’m sure Colin was very instramental in this. The guy basically moved out here in order to close to him.

  6. Fight On Sark, hope he gets his life and relationships back together again.

  7. I propose a toast to Sark… may you have great success in your new life in broadcasting!

  8. Wolfman, you’re killing me!
You continue despite the repeated calls for decorum to post these photos of this creepy SoCal tradition.
Now you dredge up the flying Sark on QB butt bump shot!
    Disgusting!
(Of course Sark never leaves the ground but the QB is flying.)
I wonder if Fox S 1 will make him do Up/Downs if he’s late for work.

  9. It’s a good thing I don’t watch Fox Sports 1 for anything related to college football, because I can’t stand the sight of that back stabbing, drunk fool. And his reputation was questionable before USC hired him, and was never held in high regard by anybody outside of the Trojan family, which is why he couldn’t attract any reputable assistance coaches.

  10. Bel Air Tech alum, Troy Aikman is a DRUNK and holds down a job for the NFL, Food for thought we are not perfect, Sark proved that, Give him an opportunity to move on and hopefully he has taken this opportunity seriously.. Good luck Sark!

    • Doubt it.. But if he is sweating bullets in the first half, the second half could be fun to watch.. Serious though for his kids sake, I hope he is ok.

  11. GT22 and Bucket like to rim each other while watching their 600lb wifey’s roll around in the mud at Cow Poly U, flip them fat harry pigs .. OINK!
