  1. He’s a pretty good player, but these verbal commits mean absolutely nothing, especially when you have 3 major college football programs in your own backyard, and they will be recruiting this kid until he signs the dotted line.

  2. Jake looks good. Terrific size, motor and a recruiting victory over ALA and NEB. Glad to see the USC/Florida connection is alive and well. This class is coming together very nicely.

  3. This is a great pickup. Don’t let his star ranking fool you, he has offers galore. Everyone wants this kid.

    • If this guy’s a three-star, then three-star is the new four-star. I don’t place any credence in the star assignments any more. Silly. This guy is a stud. Hope we can hold onto him. The fact that Florida kids like SC is obviously a well-used recruiting tool.

      • He loved his trip last month. I think he wanted to be on the West or in California because Cal was his other finalist. But they keep saying his star ranking will go up for sure. The number of three star kids in our class so far is a little odd for us, but Lichtenstein is one kid I’ll all day. His athleticism, strength and size is what we want in a DL. Nelson Agholar, Buck Allen and Leonard Williams are the model Florida players to come to USC, have successful careers in LA and move on to play in the NFL. We got Jamel Cook and his teammate from Florida last year and here we are with Lichtenstein. We have a successful pipeline going down there.

        • It seems like ever since Mike Williams, USC has been gold for Florida big-timers. There were a few others like Keith Rivers, but Williams seemed to have started the trend.

          • Yep. Williams is the guy who started it all. And we’ve had some guys who never panned out from their, but for the most part we’ve been on the money with Florida kids.
