USC Closing In On Olympic Record

With Canada winning a bronze medal in the 4×100 relay, it meant two medals for former USC sprinters Andre De Grasse and Aaron Brown. Allyson Felix won another relay gold (what else does she win?), which means the track program has won 8 medals.

If Felix wins a medal as expected in the 4×400 relay, it would mean record 9 Olympic medals for the USC track program. That’s an accomplishment when you consider track’s storied history. USC track won five gold medals alone at the 1948 Olympics. You can debate the merit of Felix’s medals since she never actually competed. I’ve already weighed in on that before.

USC has won 17 medals at the Rio Olympics so far.

  2. How many Gold? Counting S & B medals is bush league.

Tonight, Carson Bomber chucked an INT for a Charger TD. The Bomber unforced T/O saga continues – Az lost.

  3. Because John Wayne was prelaw at USC, he isn’t a Trojan. Dr Jerry Buss’ physical chemistry degrees discounts his business/real estate accomplishments. Is that how we define an alums accomplishments? Case in point. Scottie is from School of Journalism. Few would consider him a “journalist.” How many Journalism awards????
