USC Morning Buzz: Eight Questions After Training Camp

PENDERGAST

With training camp over, here are some key questions facing USC with two weeks before the Alabama game. Excerpt:

“Which coaches are in the pressbox?

Offensive coordinator Tee Martin and quarterbacks coach Tyson Helton are both expected to be in the pressbox. This is interesting because usually just one of those two would be in the pressbox. Martin is also the wide receivers coach so someone else will need to deal with them on the sideline.

The defensive coach in the pressbox is expected to be defensive line coach Kenechi Udeze. Defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergast is expected to be on the sideline.”

  1. Scotty, Since the UGLY blog won’t or cant’ say anything. Where’s Mique? Coach Simian is better at secrets than the CIA. LOL

    • You seem to be pretty obsessed over an 18 year old football player. All over both sites looking for Mique. Perhaps you are simply a “Rainbow Warrior” looking for attention?

      • Not that there is anything wrong with that. At least one of our coachs didn’t work at a school for 30 + years and didn’t notice deviant behavior in the shower room.

        • Your coaches don’t last 30 years. How many have you has since Cheatey Petey left?

Nice try troll. And pedophilia isn’t deviant behavior, it’s criminal behavior. Where are the charges?

          • Not yet bRuin Boy. How many coaches on Monkey Man’s have been there 30 years?

  2. Meanwhile… Matt Lopes, Reuben Peters and James Toland IV are walk-ons that were awarded scholarships for 2016.

  3. Uncle Wolfman have you seen ALA response to #ClownU little T-shirt, “Our OJ only killed Clemson” LMAO… .didn’t he transfer from #Winoalley

    #Boom

  4. Scotty! Your article had the first non-back-handed compliment of Pete Carroll I can ever remember from you!

“Pete Carroll treated the lowest-level employees at USC like he did a VIP.”

  5. Figure head offensive coordinators are nothing new to USC, because Clay Helton played that role for many years for the Trojans. So don’t think for a New York minute, that Tee Martin isn’t wearing the same hat, because Tyson Helton will have the last say so on play calling.

    • I got no problem with that. Bring Tee along slowly and let him learn and grow into the position. USC has some depth at OC and shouldn’t waste it and hang Tee out to dry against Alabama.

  6. I disagree with this move. Tyson Helton OR Tee Martin need to be on the field. If Max Browne or Sam Darnold are struggling mentally it would be best to be face to face to talk them through things. Just MY OPINION.

  7. So about 6 of the 8 questions are rhetorical questions. Leaving just 2 to be answered by the weekend. USC has a winning formula or recipe they just have to mix It right and win. The past (which IS in the past) has shown tinkering with the formula can blow up in your face. Too many times in the past few years I wrote that we beat ourselves. It is time to beat the other guys.
