  1. Just wanted you to know, Scott, that I did my part in helping a controversy along by voting ‘disagree’ —- but I’m not getting nearly enough support from my fellow Trojans. Want me to make some calls?

    • By a big margin, Sam. If this were a presidential election, we’d being saying Max had a ‘clear mandate.’

      • I think we’re all ready for the season to start and see our players on the field. Besides a new QB we have a lot of players that we’re hoping will break out this season. Now we can focus on the actual game, we’ll find out tomorrow the 2 deep depth chart and who will be playing and not playing with two weeks left before kickoff.

        • The truth is, if we stay healthy, I really like our chances. But we need to go into and come out of this game 100% injury free.

          • This is one of those games where things change a LOT if we lose Adoree or JuJu for even ONE quarter. As 55 says, we need “all hands on deck.”

          • I’ll go even further and say if Juju (knock on wood) gets dinged up we have no chance. He shouldered the load all last season when the other team knew he was getting the ball. All hands on deck for sure.

          • Buddy, as much as I love Juju,it’s a new season.New coaching, new QS’s and I believe a system that spreads the wealth. He is our experienced playmaker( great one), but If he gets dinged up,there will be others that WILL step up!

          • I hope that’s the case Pete. Juju was our only source of a pass catcher last season. We didn’t have a #2 receiver and that remains a mystery. But if we can move the ball with the run game that will take pressure off the pass game. But we definitely need a reliable #2 receiver to emerge early in the season. Preferably the Alabama game.

          • I’d love to see our OL move the line of scrimmage ..put us in
the position of short yardage .I think we will see a different offense with Tyson’s influence. The problem of #2 receiver from last year obvious to staff.

          • If we can run the ball effectively, and put ourselves in short yardage situations like you say then that would eventually open up the pass game. So our OLINE will be working hard for sure. I’m confident in our guys up front if they are healthy.

          • A lot of unknowns for both teams, Sam. Hard to know what to expect. SC has the tougher opener. Rosen reportedly has been inconsistent all camp and a new offense. SC going against Alabama with a new QB in what will be more of a road game than a neutral site game. Not sure I like the odds for either team.

          • If USC can’t run the ball then Max will be asked to do more than we want and that will be tough, but it’s gonna take both the passing and running game to beat Bama with their defense being tough and even on a bad day solid. UCLA should try to establish the run, but they’re gonna have to rely on a lot of WR’S that seem to be a mystery to most.

          • I don’t see SC (or most anyone) running the ball on Alabama. Can you pass protect?

          • Hard to say. Zach Banner’s graded as a 1st Rounder based heavily on his run blocking. Id say he can hold his own in pass protection, but has some trouble with smaller pass rushers. It doesn’t get any better in terms of our OLINE experience, but we are talking Bama so it’s gonna be show and prove for us to actually give them (USC) top 10 billing.

          • It’s put up or shut up time for him. He’s playing for a high draft status, the guy on the side will most likely be an all conference defensive lineman. So far in camp he’s took over as the vocal leader on the OLINE. Banner and Chad Wheeler are both senior bookend OT’S. A lot of the weight will be on their shoulders.

    • Sam! How about a new game for the trolls? It would go like this: we write really critical stuff about the team, attract a ton of troll “likes” —-and then we go back and edit our comments into compliments.

      • Here’s what I love:

        Alabama reloads its NC defense.

bozo u returns intact the same cotton candy defense that yielded a record 461 all purpose yards to a single Stanford RB in the Pac-12 Championship game.

And Mikey thinks Saban will overlook that ugly fact and not bother to exploit bozo u weakness. LOL.

          • Knock yourself out Mikey. However if I were you, I’d start boning up on the bozo loser excuses to justify the bozo u slaughter. LOL!

          • Please go on record with a serious score prediction, UCLA…….my pals and I can have some fun with you after the game…..

          • Seriously Mike, if the game was at the Mausoleum, I’d give the bozos a puncher’s chance.

But bozo u FB is sailing into a Perfect Storm.

            1) Nat. TV? Saban will have Alabama primed and loaded at a virtual Alabama Home game.

            2) SEC vs Pac-12: No way Saban loses this game; too much prestige at stake and he’ll run up the score for emphasis.

            3) bozo u is starting a inexperienced QB, under enormous pressure to to win. I feel sorry for Browne.

            4) No matter what defensive pressure Browne faced during the QB competition, Alabama presents 5 or 10x more defensive pressure from multiple defensive formations Browne has no concept of.

            5) Imagine Mike, you’re a new novice flight student forced to pilot an F-35 from a heaving Aircraft Carrier.

            6) I hope Browne’s confidence isn’t totally destroyed.

          • Okay. I asked for serious. And I got serious. Much obliged.
Re #5: It worked in “Independence Day.”

          • Thank you from the bottom of my heart, UCLA.

          • What tune will you be singing September 3rd if UCLA loses? Will you still be mouthing off? Because a lot of people would be silent if they lost a football game instead of yapping about another teams buisness.

          • Well I won’t offer any cheap excuses. I can’t recall in my prior comment I predicted a lock UCLA victory.

UCLA has a better chance of victory than bozo u.

          • Absolutely, especially if the bozos are, as I predict, slaughtered like a sacrificial lamb.

You claim to own LA FB. Prove it.

          • True, but bozo u is 1 – 3 in the last 4 games, or to put another way bozo u owns .250 loser pct. LOL.

          • Some people still think the earth is flat 55; I know your head is flat. People use your head as a place to set their beers.

  2. How about this poll question.
Do you agree or disagree with the Coliseum ground crew squeegeeing the playing field before or after the game?

  3. Alabama is under more pressure to win against USC, defending NC and getting their year off on the right foot, USC is loaded with talent and will probably be their toughest opponent of 2016.. Til end of season when it all shakes out, Can USC go in to Dallas and steal a win, absolutely, Whomever plays mistake free football and manages the clock .. Well win the game.. This is the deepest roster in size (85) players USC has had in 5 years.. The bottom line is USC is NO cotton candy, I see us doing a lot of damage in the Pac12.. ✌

  4. While intended for the amusement of our beloved trolls. I hardly think what I think is of any value in the actual decision making process.

    • I could have sworn that a 40-21 victory is worth a down payment towards proving that we Own Los Angeles.

      • When we do it again in the Rose Bowl we’ll have gained adverse possession of the City and Region.

        • I know if my team loses the season opener at 12:30pm I’m not gonna say anything later that day on a rivals blog.

          • Did you score over 40 by pounding us with 11 straight run plays? That was called physically dominating your opponent.

          • Huntley didn’t need to run 11 straight times.

As I recall Cravens usually just waved Huntley into the end zone.

          • And Iman Marshall took the ball any from Rosen like taking candy from a baby. #1 QB vs #1 CB. Biggie lived up to that billing for sure.

          • You can cite 10,000 this and thats Sammy, and still bozo u is 1 – 3 in the last 4 game.

Sammy do you understand the concept singular and plural.

            UCLA 3 wins

bozo u 1 win – bozo u ran the ball 11 straight times. BFD.

          • You can avoid the what have you done lately factor all you want, but we didn’t just beat you by a lot of points, no we dominated the football game. We pushed the line of scrimmage play after play Owns. Big, big turn of the tables. The tables are definitely turning.

          • We did the same thing to bozo u the three previous games.

In fact bozo u lost three players to bone fractures during that 3 game winning streak.

            UCLA lost none.

          • Owns you beat a team that were playing with 45-50 players. Good for you. Sark was a bad coach, but he did stock up the talent, and we have the numbers and depth now. Last year’s game we beat you with freshman and sophomores doing all the damage. Mora is fading, here comes the pain.

  5. If Browne wasnt the starter he would have transferred . Helton made the right decision!

  6. ESPN 2016 Preseason College Football Ranking: Alabama #1; LSU #6; Stanford #7; Notre Dame #9; USC #17; Washington #18; Oregon #22; UCLA #24.

  7. What this poll shows is that so far 667 people have a “Brain”, and the rest don’t !
