This is not exactly a controversial depth chart. The left guard position is shared by Chris Brown and Damien Mama. Chris Hawkins and Leon McQuay are co-starters at safety. Hawkins probably wonders about that after starting last season. Michael Hutchings won the weakside linebacker spot. Maybe a surprise is that Rasheem Green does not own a starting spot but could start at two positions. The defensive line is so suspect that Utah transfer Stevie Tu’ikolovatu, who started only two games last season for the Utes, is starting at nose tackle. You can see the depth chart by clicking on the picture below.
Fu** yeah!
Flow is clearly not a fan of Stevie T.
Osa Masina will be the starting (Will) ILB by game 3.
That too.
Lol
Stevie Tu’i is a stud. What a find!
Utah is going to look pretty stupid letting this guy go.
#SecondHandGoods
I guess you could say the only thing worse would be if you were second hand goods from not one, but two NFL teams.
Q: I wonder how Jim Mora sleeps at night after being dumped by the Falcons and Seahawks and bypassed for the UW HC position (for Sark!)?
A: With two Night Lights
Would be interesting to know the story of how Tu’i escaped, how hard UTAH tried to keep him and if they just couldn’t hold him because of other starters. I have strong respect for their coaches, so I have to believe they just couldn’t hold him because of USC needs and unmatched opportunity.
Should he play lights out, he will get noticed more because of the USC connection .. Utah has produced players to the nfl, but not as many as USC.. Smart kid, he went with the school.that gives him a clear path to the nfl…#nflfactory ✌
The draw of playing for an untested head coach and a six loss team overwhelmed him.
For a team to release a player go to an in- conference rival speaks volumes.
You don’t hand a loaded gun to a rival you play that same season unless the gun ain’t loaded.
We saw how pitiful the ucla ragtag OL built by Cheater Klemm was when USC mauled Rosen last November.
My take is that USC showed Stevie that tape and said, here’s how much fun you’ll have against ucla this up-coming season. He immed signed with USC.
Tell you what, Jacquie, let us pick your top three defensive players not to play against us this season and we’ll see if we can’t beat you worse as we did the three seasons prior.
Excuses, am I hearing excuses?
There’s no excuse for losing to a 6 loss team that is yesterday’s sports news.
Make up your mind!
Funny stuff. Shirley always gets confused, especially about the difference between offense and defense. And now the little weakling pulled the injury card. Next thing you know, he’ll be pulling the Mique card. There’s always the Rosen-was-only-a-frosh card.
The ucla team I saw in November flat out stunk. Excuses are needed!
J, that’s a little weird because Kylie Fitts transferred from UCLA to UTAH and is one of the best DLINEMAN now after actually getting to play. What does that say about UCLA?
Thanks for asking.
Mora knew Fitts was an excellent player and as he always does, he made a decision that put the player’s best interest first and allowed the transfer. He wasn’t getting rid of a second string lineman that he knew wouldn’t hurt him.
Chances are he’ll hurt the Bruins though, no question.
If Mr T is so good, why didn’t he declare for the NFL draft?
Utah stalled for nearly 6 weeks…Stevie led PAC 12 in fumble recoveries last year, 4.He was on mission 2 years, and injured 1.Last year was his only year to displace starter, Stevie made big impact, but he was ready to return to Calif. to set up life after football. He will be major impact, especially because with us he is given leadership.
Starts are irrelevant re: Steve T. They had a rotation at the DT position. He played plenty.
Who’s to say he wouldn’t have started at Utah this year too. Looks like a good guy to plug up the middle to me.
Not exactly a controversial depth chart? Actually there are some nuggets in there for those taking the time to analyze them. First, Green actually owns two starting spots – this gives Pendergast the option of using Green in multiple formations. Pittman being second string ahead of Whitney is a big surprise – remember the Blogger said the freshman WRs weren’t standing out? I was really impressed with Burnett last year and even with the great Spring/Summer Mitchell is having, Burnett is hanging with him. Brown moving even with Mama is a big surprise, and I have to give the Blogger credit for mentioning this in one of his posts weeks ago. Not sure what the deal is with naming a FB as we probably will never use that formation. Ware overtook Davis at RB, which is a bit of a surprise also; I really like Davis last year and saw/see him having a breakout year this year (if he wasn’t buried in the depth chart). Though Nwoso jumping Ruffin has been coming, it is still surprising after Ruffin showed such promise as a Freshman. Sources say Ts’ikolovatu has looked real good. We actually picked up two experienced lineman with Ts’ikolovatu and Rodgers. Powell dropping down the depth chart is unexpected and Houston is even deeper. Remember when Houston was the top LB entering the class? Jones sitting at second string is impressive for a Freshman.
I can’t wait to see Jackson and Jones in kickoff coverage.
Are those the same guys that do your “Hail Mary” coverage?
If so, might want to switch that up.
#justasuggestion
Houston will come along a bit slower since he had a back problem that forced him to redshirt. It’s the perfect scenario for him, redshirt last year, Stay healthy this year+gain weight/muscle+learn. I think we’ll see him start to make his mark by next season.
Quality analysis.
Smells like the standard bozo u excuses, excuses, excuse.
Sound like the same Wimpwood Cub talking about stuff he has no clue about.
Smells like a wino fest down there on 4th Street Squatter?
Fat Mama lost his job. Depth chart shows him 2nd string. LOL.
Your mom is on the team? No wonder you’re always pissed off.
Lol
Take it back!!!
Take what back?
Betiku is 2nd string behind Gustin.
Brian Kelly dismissed Max Redfield from the Notre Dame football team…Kid from the O.C. who needs a gun in Indiana, also had weed on him. WTF is up with these kids? Wasted opportunities left and right.
His nickname in prison will be TRUDY.. TRUDY TRUDY TRUDY!
Looks like Redfield did SC a favor when he bailed on 2013 class. He chose to play for a rival, carry a gun, get caught multiple times with weed, and is now with out a home to call his football team. He hasn’t done much for being a 5* safety, looks like we dodged a bullet.
Yes we did.. Kid just screwed his entire future..
Everybody has a gun in Indiana.
Pot, not so much.
Perhaps a transfer to Colorado is in order, they have both.
I’m willing to bet when he enrolled at Notre Dame Brian Kelly told him and the rest of the Irish players that rule #1 was no drugs+no guns. College kids will experience the college lifestyle and party, but there’s that huge stop sign for athletes that say “NO to drugs” even Marijuana. This is big time college football where these are rules that might as well be unspoken.
Guess it’s different there than Alabama
Seems like it’s going around in South Bend and Tuscaloosa.
Regarding your assessment of UCLA D, I only hope your coaching staff is as ignorant as you are. It will make it that much easier to thrash you again.
Keep up the talk CowPoly, you have less than 2 weeks left before you have to stop talking and play.
40-21 .. Foolio, I have forgotten more than you will ever know about football .. The BAT’s D is weak .. You are just an emotional clown fan who never played football, I have.. I talk to scouts and former players.. Some from Ucla say they are still a work in progress.. Goodnight metafool!
You may have forgotten a lot about football but you haven’t forgotten any of your Jr. High social skills and attitude.
In a pool of fools you are the biggest and you continue to make assumptions and predictions that prove you have zero cred.
PS thanks for patting yourself on the back in your post yet again, your record remains perfect.
#narcissist
As you are pinhead ..a troll on a rival site trash talking…Actions speaker louder than words.. It was your ignorance that you found me as someone you could target and jack, sadly you played me wrong, its you that shown your maturity level as a child, you chose to play the troll game with the wrong guy..I have embarrassed you and you run for cover pretending to be someone else.. A great learning tool that you have never have grown up.. A piece of advice .. Show respect to others, and in turn you will not be treated as you treat others.. Like a child.. Sadly I am right PTSD, and possibly burned out of covering the Trojans.. Scott others are aware of who you are on this blog, and so does the staff at USC, Karma is a biotch .. Your time is coming!
Gobble, gobble, gobble.
Wow, I think I hit a nerve. I think that was a threat, am I right?
Listen, I now know you are a sensitive man but I didn’t realize just how sensitive. I’ll try to take it easy on you from now on and focus on just making fun of my cross-town rivals in a more general sense. It’s what makes this rivalry so much fun. I realize now that’s not why you come here, you come here to talk about yourself.
Remember, you can always utilize the block function that they put in here for those that don’t like an opposing opinion.
Have a nice day.
Lol.. Sorry ..You didn’t hit a nerve.. You truly do have issues that need to be addressed.. No threat, I am well connected to the program as several others are here.. It is just sad that you sit here and take shots at everyone.. Go pick up a hobby or something, you might enjoy your life better..
Typical lowlife, immature bruin. You guys are most definitely “champions of the offseason”
Thanks,
You forgot; most successful sports program in NCAA History.
It is, if you count the 80 National Title’s in Women’s sports.
I too have played football. Unfortunately my career was cut short after the neighbor lady confiscated my football after it landed on her front lawn.
Alabama went after Stevie hard.Utah tried to release him there first ,took six weeks to let him become Trojan.
