I said Friday I could not believe the Salute to Troy was over by 8:15 p.m. Friday night. Some fans who attended tell me the event did not honor any teams from the past. Usually there is a 50-or-25-year anniversary for a team and members are brought up. Last year, Mike Garrett actually set foot on campus for the first time since he was fired because one of his teams was honored. But that helps explain why things moved faster.
Thanks so much for clearing that up. I haven’t slept well since your original post on the subject. Waiting excitedly in anticipation of your next Rams fans fight post. Anything related to the upcoming football game with Alabama would not be interesting in the least.
USC’s headed in the wrong direction. It’s sharing it’s field with the NFL, once again.
Here’s a question: With all the money the school is receiving from the Rams, not to mention the ridiculous, and frankly stupid, tuition price, why is USC’s athletic stipend among the lowest in the country?
If they don’t think it’s big deal going forward they’re all idiots and should get used to competing for those 3-star recruits.
John ESPN covered this about six months ago and it wasn’t just USC, it was the whole Pac12 conference that had the lowest stipends. They gave no answers why only a ranking of conferences. The SEC and BIG10 were the highest.
The NCAA and the Pac12 are still locked into an agreement that runs through 2018.. By 2018 stipends could hit $5000 per student athlete within the conference.. If I remember correctly, from 2015 numbers were $2000, $3000 in 2016, $4000 in 2017 and $5000 in 2018.. Sam does that seem right?
Yeah, I remember it showed the average for a Pac12 school was about $2,600- $3,300. Somewhere around there. I do know there was a huge gap in the amount the Pac12 kid get then other conferences. The top conferences were around $5,000. I want to say even the Big12 were pretty high also.
Tennessee is the highest at $5700 per.
Not bad at all for kids who already gets free room and board, plus meals. Not saying it’s enough or not enough, but not bad at all.
Lol..Enough to buy weed and guns.. Jkg. . Trudy Trudy Trudy!
What else does a kid need in college? Jk.
Well now those 5 + 1 who play over for ‘The Princess’ sure have lifted a veil from the ‘moral high ground’ over yonder……looked like a six-pack a witness looks at to pick a suspected perp ‘cept they all looked like it.
Lol..
That’s party time for CowPolyFan3.0 in Pahrump on Saturday night after a long day of mowing lawns for Snowbirds…
Careful, GT22
He thinks this is real.
How high is Cow Poly’s stipend, CowPolyFan3.0?
No idea since I didnt go there .. Probably the same as BURGER WORLD U.. $15 dollars per month, Just enough to pay for your ..Obama phone.. ..
haven’t you HEARD he’s a five MILLION $$ a year Show Biz exec!!!! (chortle) and that makes sense for an obviously uneducated guey who constantly uses the phrase LOL is in charge of programing and production!!!
ahhhhhh, our T-Fail, at least his kooky character is moving up in the world!!
#NoVegasMogul
Easy, CB He’s very, very sensitive and very easily offended. I’d back off, I don’t think he can take the heat.
Stick with Sam Bam, he’s smarter, tougher and a more worthy target.
You mean CowPolyFan3.0 is more psychotic and about to melt down?
but it’s FUN picking on T-Fail…..i thought that was what he was HERE for!!
#AmIMistaken??
He’s not here to talk about football he’s here to talk about himself.
Don’t antagonize him, he’s fragile.
No telling what he might do.

According to CBS, Pac-12 Stipends
UCLA $5,941
Stanford $5,610
Colorado $3,970
Utah $3,574
Wash St $3,542
ASU $3,499
Wash. $3,085
Cal $2,800
OregonSt $2,484
Oregon $2,382
Arizona $1,602
USC* $1,580 (offensively cheap)
Wow, USC is getting peanuts compared to UCLA.
I knew it was low, but that is terrible
Isn’t Stanford a private school? Their stipend is 2nd in the Pac 12.
Yeah, something doesn’t add up.
Private school vs a state school .. Tennessee is the highest in their conference..
Wow maybe they can use all the money Pat Haden siphoned off to his relatives to raise that stipend.
Digging a little deeper, Google the 91 team. Only Wolf would suggest honoring a 3-8 team that lost to Memphis.
The 1966 team wasn’t 3-8. It went to the Rose Bowl. No excuse for snubbing the team the was the basis for the national champs the following season.
Scott was hoping to be saluted for his 20 years of half -ss service covering USC.
If he’s doing his job he won’t be honored by the subject he is supposed to be covering objectively.
SC wanted to keep the bar tab down after last year and Sarks soaking up the Fireballs.
