Nick Saban Thought

Do you think Alabama coach Nick Saban is unhappy to hear USC reduced the offensive role of Adoree Jackson and will start the less mobile of its two quarterbacks?

  1. Saban is not worrying about the things you worry about because he actually has intelligence.

    • How long would Wolf last as a beat writer for Bama after he asked one of his snarky questions? My guess is he would end up face down in trash can outside the facilities.

  2. I honesty think he spends more time worrying about the off campus behavior of his players. Like most coaches.

  3. From what I can tell, Nick Saban is neither happy nor unhappy about anything.

  4. The only people who give two hoots about Adoree Jackson, are the opponents he blew away in high school. Because he hasn’t done anything in college for an opposing coach to fear him..lmao

    • Adoree has great balls skills and will be faster than any other man on the field. Give him a break. Now that he doesn’t have to be on the field all the time, he can focus on returns (he’s terrific there) and coverage (has a better DB coach now).

I predict he’ll show up big against ‘Bama. He has more refined responsibilities and this will be his last year at SC. He will come to play.

      • Adoree even seems more serious when he’s getting interviewed. It always seemed like he was smiling all the time or looked bored, but I noticed he seems more focused and has the serious face on now. I hope that’s a sign of what we can expect from him on the field. Still the reports so far out of camp is that he has been all about buisness on the field at CB, that’s he looks better in coverage and that sounds like good news.

        • Yeah. Re: the increased maturity during interviews— very astute observation, Sam.

        • Sam the lack of the smile has to due with him coming in 9TH in the long jump competition! It’s impossible to smile when you’ve ARSSS Kicked that hard! You ought to know that by now… No one at southern cal will be smiling after Sep. 3rd.

          • I think your being a little hard on the kid Ted. Give him some credit, he did return a punt back for a TD against the Bruins. Now apologize.

          • You make me laugh literally! That is why you are one of very few southern cal fan on this blog that i like.

        • The whole demeanor of the team is far more serious – most since Hackett was sacked. PC was the bright light that led us out of Siberia but he also left a legacy of a bit too much fun and frivolity – Jackson had better be serious a mere 192 hours hence – AL is going to be because their coach is.

    • Why would an opponent he blew away in high school give one or two hoots? Among the things he hasn’t done in college is score after picking up an opponents fumble, he’s scored four other ways. Sorry Fred, gotta block you – you’re taking up space on my screen without providing any value.

        • Fred don’t even worry about it… You are one of the most reasonable southern cal fan in this blog!

        • Oh no one of gollom-wolf’s sock puppets blocked you! How ever will you go on? remember when he thought you were worthy of this monlogue? fryer tuck Fred Sampson 6 months ago
Here’s what Robin Hood said to me when I met him for the first time on fallen tree across a large creek, “Smart people, particularly the young, actually do plan their lives. They do their planning looking forward, BUT after they finish their plan, they plan looking backward from the end of their lives. Now we all know the Good Lord may call any of us at any time, BUT one should plan in both directions. I want you to know that a degree from USC is a serious credential to hold and if you have drive and determination coupled with such a degree, your success in life is assured. But If your lazy, careless and lack professionalism, no degree – even one from USC – is going to make you successful.” I thought about Robin’s words and then I caused him to fall into the creek below with a thrust he will not soon forget. As he feel to creek below he called out, “Fight On and Beat Alabama.”

  5. Saban focuses on purely winning more than any other American college football coach, with Meyer and Harbaugh a close second.

He will be ready and over-prepared for any eventuality, the key to his success. It doesn’t matter what SC does. What matters is how well SC does it.

Can we out-execute Saban? Probably not. Few do. But we have to somehow because we can’t out-talent Alabama, yet I think we have some emotional advantages that give us the edge we need to have a shot against the nation’s #1 team in the last ten years.

Love that the game is in the world’s biggest stadium in Texas. What a thrill to be in this game. Great opportunity for USC to do what we have traditionally done well through the decades – play well on the really big stage.

  6. Thought of the Day. Do you think Nick Saban reads the Daily News sports page to read all of Scott Wolf’s articles and his blog posts, so he can gain an advantage on how to prepare for USC?

  7. Saban would be a fool not to prepare for both Darnold and Adoree on offense regardless of what Helton says. There should be special plays designed for both of them.

Saban should be worried about his quarterback situation. Looks like he’ll be forced to start a true freshman cause 5-Star Barnett is a turnover machine.

And Saban’s plenty worried about USC or else Cam Robinson would be suspended at least a couple games for the same kind of incident Notre Dame kicked off their starting safety for.

  8. I’m guessing Nick Saban thinks that SC is desperate to win this game, and that they are putting the guys out there and using them in a way that they believe maximizes their chance of winning. That’s what I think he thinks.

    • If it were any of the previous HC’s: Kiffin, Orgeron, Sarkisian – yeah you’d be right – Helton is not desperate but AL is no matter how skilled and proven they are – they lose this game and they’re in a very bad place for the entire 2016 season.

  9. Adoree approached average by playing far too many plays last year. He’ll focus on D and returns this year, and I’m sure that’ll help his standing with the pros. An occasional receiver play will be fine.

  10. wolfman, this is a classic “statement” game forSaban AND Kiff!!!

They got two AA LB’s and an AA DE, AND anAA DB…,they are bringing MAD pressure on Maxie !!!!

And with no Adoree on O, they KNOW every 3rd down play goes to Jojo!!!

anyways, wolfman, the trOXanz would rather lose 2000 to zip, than admit you were ever right!!!!

  11. With all due respect WoIfman, I don’t think Saban or anyone else in Alabama gives a rat’s ARRSSS what the loser southern cal program is doing. They will beat the crap out of the trOJans no matter what Helton does!
