George Farmer At Tailback

George Farner gained nine yards in 1 carry at tailback for the Seahawks last night. Farmer was originally a cornerback for Seattle. He was a wide receiver at USC although Lane Kiffin tried him at tailback his freshman year.

  1. Farmer should have stayed at tailback. He couldn’t and never learned to run to routes, and any future in the NFL was going to be at tailback or DB, but daddy insisted he stay at WR.

  2. I’m an idiot. For all this time I thought his last name was farmer, not farner. Stupid me!

  3. I thought he gave up football, but this would be one heck of a story if he makes the team at RB.

    • It would be a good story. And it would also save your fantasy that Farmer was going to make a good NFL player when I always told you he was over-rated and was smart to leave SC early because he wasn’t good enough to start there.

That said, I’d still like to see him make a journeyman NFL back out of himself because it would mean another SC player in the league.

      • Jack…lmao! Yeah, I’ll give you credit on that call, because I actually fell for the media hype, which is something I rarely, do .

        • The kid had all the exponents from a prep power and a know-it-all dad who promoed him Marinovich-style. I think the kid tried hard but he didn’t have excellent hands, toughness, quickness or separation skills. Excellent size and 10.4 speed. Really looked the part, but didn’t have the knack others always had. Classic All-Get-Off-The-Bus Team guy.

  4. I don’t see how his knees can hold up over the course of a season at tailback. I wish the kid the best though.
