  1. Well ol Wolfie voted Michigan #1 in the AP poll. I’d hate to see what the Wolverines would’ve done.

No doubt there are problems. But, I’d rather lose to a #1 than be highly ranked and lose to an unranked team ala ND & the bRuins.

    • You’d rather be humlitated on national television 52-6 than lose in OT? Are you a USC administrator?

      • Nikias must be trolling..HAA.. Once the balls were stepped, game was over. As an alum, it sucks..At least I can say I once witnessed greatness.. Its all but finished ..

      • The two of them are better than whatever Helton can cobble together. It still seems to be a big mistake to have these two together – I don’t see Sarkisian keeping his gob shut especially because of this hire.

        • I see a nfl coach hire with nfl assist’s coming like the Calvary.. Helton will be gone by Thanksgiving!. Pendergast and Baxter, Bradford are safe bets to stay with the new staff.

          • I doubt that unless there s a complete implosion – Thanksgiving is 24th November – 2 days prior to playing ‘The Princess’.

Helton’s biggest hurdle is defeating the less skilled programs: CO, AZ, Cal and UT St.. If there is a loss there who knows?

I feel sorry for Helton but he flat out looks like an average lower division head coach i.e. Mountain West, Mid America, All America Conference USA etc.. He does not look nor act like a top tier head coach but he seems like a very decent man.

          • Unless the program totally falls apart Helton won’t be gone, not until Max Nikias says he is gone. Nikias is not going to make himself look bad, the country club life is to good to him.

          • I agree – nothing changes this year if only to get through the year. As to ‘country club’ pal that is the world of any and all college chancellors, chairman, presidents etc. public or private – all of them.

  2. “Overwhelmed” is a good choice of words. The team wasn’t mentally prepared to compete when things got tough. I’ve never seen a USC team fall apart so quickly in a game. It’s almost like they gave them too much respect, like they were starstruck or something. They looked like a heavyweight fighting Tyson in the 80s that were defeated before the fight started. The second they felt one of his hard punches they would panic & crumble. No real heart or fight in them. The only one who showed me something was AJAX.
