No It’s Not Very Caesar Like

It has to rub salt in the wounds of USC fans that Pete Carroll is at the Coliseum right now. USC is off to its worst start since 2001, when Carroll was the coach and the Trojans were 1-4. But USC lost four by games by four points to Kansas State, two points to Oregon, five points to Stanford and three points to Washington. And the Trojans were less talented back then.

Helton’s lost to Alabama by 46 and Stanford by 17. And there is so little identity I don’t even know what USC is trying to accomplish. By the way, Tee Martin called the plays the entire Stanford game.

  1. I love that the NFL finally came back but having Blue and Gold hung around the stadium bothers me. Pete Carroll coming back doesn’t bother me as much as having no coach on USC’s sideline.
Tee Martin is no genius. If he called the plays I need to know who told him what to call.
Does anyone think Clancy will remember he’s back in teach mode? NFL coaches don’t have to teach as much as college coaches do.
    (He’s a future excoach)

  2. Blogger, have you ever done any significant? Or anything that matters at all? Better yet have you ever done anything well? You seem inclined to criticize anyone who has done well in life. Is it insecurity on your part or what. Does it make you feel better about yourself?

    • Blogger is regarded by his colleagues as the best SC beat reporter in the biz. Blogger was interviewed everywhere by everybody for breaking the Kiffin tarmac story, and all the Sark firing stories. Blogger is known enough for what he does that you frequent the blog. Anymore questions?

      • Saul you’re right – mock Wolf but there is no one else that throws topics out there that draw a myriad of replies from all of us.

Scott posts because, and I am serious here, he is concerned about the program – yeah he’s a sarcastic fool a lot of times but he also raises issues a lot of us are thinking about,

  3. Funny how the run was working and USC decided to try something else. The secondary was the big fail against Stanford. It just seems these guys are not able to put an entire game together. Yes it is coaching, and as I said last year, USC is not a training ground.

  4. Tee and Tyson are not legitimate power 5 college play callers. They are clueless in getting the ball to the skill players. The discipline on the OL, the lazy routes by the WR’s, especially JuJu when he’s not the target WR.. and the high school level play calling is not what top rated athletes come to USC for. Mass change has to happen as soon as possible. Granted the season will have to continue but Swanny has a 3-4-5 month head start to get a legitimate experienced HC and thusly a competent staff. The lazy Haden hiring of Helton is probably the worst move since the Sark disaster that USC could possibly experience. The least thing that Helton should also do is to get Sam Darnold more snaps! Max Brown is a happy feet statue who’s obvious lack of poise and confidence is a major setback.

    • If you’re alluding to Pete Carroll – PC split before the sanctions hit. He left a crater that was about to implode the program that was a result of a selfish stunt by Reggie Bush. Pete should have stayed one year regardless of his opportunity with SEA – we – USC – resurrected his entire career – he made the most of it but it was USC that gave him his return to the NFL.

Pete has and continues to do amazing things i.e. ‘A Better LA’ is incredible in its conception and follow-through. His departure was both ill timed and self-serving – he owed us more than that. But I shall always root for the Seahawks and Pete.

  5. just visiting, thats what Helton’s doing. Swann puts his own guy in next year, and wont give a damn about what anybody thinks.
