  1. Watching the Helton announcement to the press, the head coach of USC football is too big a job for him as his first head coaching job.

  2. Gomer would be replaced immed after “an honorable” effort. He “always competed hard” (except when punting was an option).

Unfortunately, recruiting maven Tee Martin would be named as the replacement by Swann who would proclaim, “We have complete confidence in Tee. I’ve watched him closely during these first three games and can only say he runs a beautifully mysterious offense which is sure to perplex the rest of our opponents as much as it does our fans.”

    • Pendergast doesn’t seem to be that all into people. Strict defensive X and O guy. For instance, he refuses to recruit. Absolutely will not do it. Have you ever seen him interviewed? He’s basically dismissive. He’s not a HC.

As far as recruiting goes, things could get real grim I’m sure. We’ll just have to see if Gomer can yuk, yuk his way through the next few weeks. I think Darnold’s gonna be good. Can’t say the same for anything else about USC football now except Adoree Jackson.

USC football is back to the Hackett years. How Swann will actually find someone to take the SC job if Gomer’s fired in year 1, I do not know. Fiasco is right, especially if we have players who want out according to Holmes.

  3. Helton has bigger problems. It’s being reported that prized freshman EJ Price and several others are about to bounce. No way Helton lasts after this season

    • That sucks. But Helton can’t look behind him and worry about who’s happy and who’s not, that’s what got him in this mess by choosing Browne when he clearly wanted Darnold. Now we’re 1-2 and will be playing in an uncomfortable environment Friday night at UTAH. That one could get ugly.
