Where Is Pat Haden?

Several USC boosters that routinely run into Pat Haden tell me there’s been no sight of the former athletic director in recent months. Was he so burned by the public backlash that he does not want to be seen? Maybe if USC win some games he will show his face.

  1. He made an appearance on Jim Hills, Rams pregame show two weeks ago, and he acted like he didn’t have a worry in the world.

  2. If he has any shame he’s hiding. He probably doesn’t, so my guess is that he’s busy raiding some charity’s caufers

  3. The Capper is just like the Clintons…the rules don’t apply to him and he thinks he has never done anything wrong.

    • Tell me Einstein what’s your income tax bracket %.

Last year Hillary paid about 40% income tax rate.

We don’t know what Donnie paid.

      • Of course she paid her 40%, but how did she pay it JO? Through donations spun through their “BANK” foundation. Keep on thinking she is perfect, Far from it!

        • Check with the Clinton Foundation. Not a cent when into her pocket, and not one cent went to settle loser personal lawsuits.

What was Bush’s tax exposure on his play for pay gains? Did he take a deduction for returning the Heisman?

Can’t wait you hear from FOtV on “Discuss another ugly bozo u loss” friday night.

          • The Clinton Foundation has a arm, called the Clinton Family Foundation . They supposedly earned $10.5 million betw them for PR etc. Rake in over $100 million annually for the foundation, but only donated $1 million to the CFF trust. They earn monies from their donors to offset monies moved to their CFF trust. So yes she earns money from the actual foundation.

          • Reference source? I know “supposedly” is acceptable as fact at bozo u, but I need something a little more concrete.

I mean Zack Banner is “supposedly” considered an 1st team All American LT and a lock 1st round NFL draft choice. LOL.

          • Do your own research, you spend 24/7 a day on computer anyway. Tap the keys slowing to google as I did. Cheers my good man!

          • You’re the one making the Hillary accusations. All I’m asking for is your reference. bozo u fantasy doesn’t cut it factually.

          • I researched it, I will say this, 94% of the donations go to the foumdation. Where does the 6% go? It goes to the family trust. There is a full article on the foundation. I work for a large investment firm. I also sit on several foundation boards.

          • I’m proud of you. However, just because your CV is impressive, doesn’t prove Hillary’s dipping in foundation donations a la “St Pat.”

Lest you forget, Bernie constantly complained about Hilary exorbitant speaking fees. Hilary took a huge pay cut to run for President and doesn’t need a crummy 6% foundation skim.

          • Hillary and Bill both command $10 million speaking fees. Like I said Hillary took a pay cut to run.

          • Read Clinton Cash for the list and the laws broken. Access to the federal goverment and it’s power to make or break billion dollar deals and give our six figure jobs was gained for basically anyone and everyone including women and g-y hating Middle East countries and the Russians. You really need to stop getting all your news from leftist source

          • No, you make accusations and then I’m suppose to check out. FU.

State your specific reference source. Fox News isn’t a ref source.

          • No where the sanctimonious crusader Geo. W. Bush is.

Reminded me 22, where are the WMD that 4500 + US soldiers lost their lives over.

          • As soon as you remind me which NY Senator voted for the war and now says that vote was “a mistake”.

          • The whole world is making hillary accusations. You passed your indoctrination very well at westwood I see.

          • “Not a cent when into her pocket, and not one cent went to settle loser personal lawsuits.” That sounds like a claim to me.

          • Her sham Clinton Fopundation charity has 95% overhead expenses paying for her to stay in 5 star hotels, fly in style and run up $1000 tabs at 5 star restaurants.

          • State your Reference source. What you describe sounds like a Republican Senate/House witch hunt junket to NYC.

          • You libs always use the reference source as a defense when you can’t refute the facts about your beloved Hillary.

      • Gee Bruin Rob, did I hurt your feelings because I bashed your hero Godzillary? As far as my taxes go I pay the least amount of tax I can get away with. Why? Because I’m sick and tired of seeing my tax money being wasted by your heroes, the Dems. Secondly, if you think that Godzillary and Slick Willy are paying one cent in taxes I’ve got some beach front property in Arizona I’d like you to buy. Third, the Clinton foundation is set up like any organized crime money laundering scheme. And why is it that some of their big donors are billionaires from Saudi Arabia? I thought Godzillary was a champion of women’s rights? We all know that women basically have no rights in the kingdom. Fourth, I won’t even ask about your tax bracket because you probably don’t make enough money to pay taxes to begin with. Speaking of which, is that subscription to DateMeLA used as a tax write off? Lastly, take some time from living on this blog and start doing some reading on the Clintons and try to answer this question. Why is it that 48 of the 54 people who have investigated these two slime balls have ended up dead?

      • That just goes to show how stupid you are. Sure she did pay 40% just so she would look like one of us. The foundation pays the bills, income is just for show.

        • Steve, we all knew BruinRob was lacking in mental capacity a long time ago. How else do you explain his DateMeLA profile.

  4. We are holding Patrick Haden against his will at an undisclosed location. We are demanding that Usc fans and alumni pool their resources and leave $1,000,000 (US) in unmarked bills at the base of the Tommy Trojan statue on campus tomorrow at 6:00pm. If our ransom demand is not met, we will release Pat Haden safely to continue his duties at the university. You have less than 24 hours to comply to our demands…

  5. According to sources, Haden was in South Bend Indiana to inquire about his job as the play by play caller for Notre Dame. His objective listed on his resume said “to be part of a WINNING organization!” Jonathan Franklin is looking over his resume. Haden’s association with southern cal is being counted against him!

  6. So sad when they turn on their own like this.

What happened to “Once a Trojan, always a Trojan?”

  7. I honestly believe Haden is in deep depression and for the first time in his gilded life he suddenly has no idea how to get out of the mess he created and that’s because the allegations are so truly telling in terms fo what he did – he plundered a charitable foundation for his own benefit and used it for the benefit of his immediate relatives.

The fallout from this is steep for Haden in that he has never ever encountered this degree of public exposure. And the reason Haden is in shock is that what he has done to that foundation is indelible – that action had nothing to do with his bad choices as AD specific to the football program. What it is tied to is his ‘character’.

I am amazed he is allowed to have any connection to the university in any capacity. If a separation/disconnect to Haden is not impending just who is running USC to allow this scandal to sit and fester without any accountability when the former AD was prominent in denying any connection to Reggie Bush.

Haden is in shock – his entire raison d’etre is gone.

  8. Maybe asking his best friend for nearly 50 years, J.K. McKay, would be a good place to start with a question.

  9. He should be embarrassed but didn’t he retire because of health reasons? I don’t think he’s in good health

  10. Right now his name is mudd on the SC campus. I just wish people would stop putting all the blame on him. He certainly deserves a lot of the blame but he’s retired and he could care less what people think of him. Instead of blaming him for everything, fans should openly put the blame where it belongs…..right square on Max Nikias’s shoulders. When Max’s name becomes mudd and he doesn’t want to show his face on campus then we’ll finally get some real changes in this program.

    • thank you Jim… I just wish others would get a clue about the real culprit in this whole scenario who wants to devalue the program.

      • It’s the sadministration. Oops…..a typing error, but I don’t think I’ll correct it…….it better describes the current BOT’s.

    • Haden deserves all the blame. He reveled in this position, his weekly ‘Athelete Of The Week’ was his tenor high voice going on and on like sounding like that clown Tom Brokaw and his asinine ‘This Is An American Moment’ idiocy.

Haden loved the attention but especially the power and now he gets to embrace what he was and is and did that had nothing to do with his “I rule this place!” mindset.

Nikias foolishly trusted Haden but he isn’t the reason the program is in free fall. That fact is all Haden’s.

      • I can’t say for sure that you are wrong because there was so much going on behind the scenes that most of us will never know about. But if what you say is true, then the problem should be over once CH either makes it big as a great coach or he gets fired and they have to hire someone new because Haden is not there anymore. If I’m right and they have to fire CH, I think that they won’t even talk to people like Herman and if they do they’ll scare him off like they scared Peterson off and eventually they’ll hire another weak sister coach who won’t rock the boat. If they fire CH and go out and pay the money to get Herman or somebody like him, I’ll be the first to admit that I’m wrong. But this is USC. What McKay said about nobody being interested in the job after Sark was fired is bull. They should have no problem hiring a great coach.

        • I get your view i.e. the chaos is systemic but I do believe the awareness of the mess is going to impact the school going forward in terms of donations and desirability by applicants so yes it does flow from the top down. Perhaps this is the point at which Nikias backs off completely (doubtful but possible) as he and the BOT see just what Haden has wrought – something that gives national commentators that already hate USC even more reasons to denigrate Troy.

An aside – Haden’s silence I believe may be a direct result of someone ‘above him’ (if that is even deemed possible) to clean his act up.

One can only hope there is a forthcoming statement, regardless of how cautionary it may be, is in the works re. Haden’s future association with USC.

        • “They should have no problem hiring a great coach”. Hmm. I seem to remember many great coaches turning down the HC job, or claiming to have no interest in it when SC came calling. The situation is troublesome. It’s like saying, “that disheveled, irrational, arrogant old man who’s been divorced 5 times should have no problem finding a great wife”!

          • I don’t think that SC ever came calling for any of those guys. The media knew that SC needed a coach and they started to speculate about who that coach might be. A good example was John Harbaugh. His name kept coming up in the media. He was right in the middle of his season with the Ravens. He wasn’t going to say “yes I would seriously like to become the next SC coach”. He’d lose his own team. They wouldn’t play for him if they thought he was going to leave. But I’m confident that SC never contacted him. If they had, he might have come. I know that when UCLA fired Karl Dorrell, he was begging for the job and he interviewed for it twice. They went with Neiheisel because he was a UCLA grad. Chip Kelley was another one who would have taken the job had it been offered to him as was Jack Del Rio. This is SC, not Cal Poly. You’ve got one of the best recruiting grounds right in your back yard and most of them want to come to SC, not UCLA. You’ve got great football tradition and the big city lights. You’ve got the best weather in the world here in socal. It’s a football factory that puts a lot of players in the pros. SC should have no problem getting a great coach.

  11. Why are we continuing to bash Haden for all the damage that has been done to this football program? Doesn’t Max Nikias deserve some of the blame? Who hired Haden and supported all of Haden’s decisions and paid him millions to do so? Who has gone about replacing Haden with another non-qualified/non-experienced AD? Doesn’t it all add up Nikias has put & intends to keep USC football as a mediocre program as long as he has the power to do so? What is it that people don’t understand about this?

    • I think your a few days late to the party, Several of us already circled the “Nikias” issues. My take on it based on seeing others talking about it and knowing what has been said, Nikias wants USC to be Harvard westcoast.. All academics vs sports leading the parade. There are several BOT members who want equal attention. Does that mean Nikias could eventually be removed as Pres- you bet!

      • So true. Nikias should be ousted now and some of the BOTs obviously aren’t the sharpest tools in the shed, regardless of their bucks.

Right now, SC’s only hope is Swann. Not sure how hard he can push back but maybe SC’s current situation will give him some clout to fix this cluster.

      • If Nikias wants “Harvard Class” academics at SC, why not use the Stanford Approach: excel at both academics AND sports?
Your “Nikias Theory” just doesn’t make sense…unless of course you can provide a quote or a link that might support your opinion.

        • I have actual dialogue of what Nikias is trying to accomplish, I know of one another person on this site that has also read the same and responded as I did. I am not going put the entire link on here and jeopardize the persons name or reputation with a link to his social media. Several of here agree of the possibilities, you can agree or disagree that’s fine.

        • Stanford blundered into Harbaugh who was plucked from USD and they kept his assistant on when Harbaugh bailed for the NFL.Stanford would be just as happy with a team that just beats Cal once in a while. Look how poor their attendance is with a winning team.SC fans almost took over the stadium last weekend.

          • And the coliseum was half full for the last home game.
None of what you say takes away from the facts: Stanford has found a formula to be 5-star in academics and athletics.
I have no allegiance to Stanford, just respect.

    • Why would he intentionally want to destroy the FB program?
As goes FB, so goes the rest of the Athletic Dept. How is it that you think Nikias wants that…or doesn’t care if it happens?

      • Not destroy, but lower expectations.Ten years ago Stanford stunk at football but dominated West Coast women’s basketball and volleyball and everyone on The Farm was happy

  12. He made an appearance on Jim Hills, Rams pregame show, two weeks ago. And he acted like he didn’t have a worry in the world.

  13. Scott, I’ve been wading thru your articles and blurbs for a few years now. When do you plan to start proof-reading your material before putting it in the public domain? Your grammar and spelling oversights are glaring. You’re a paid journalist, right? It would be like a surgeon leaving the operating room without suturing up.

  14. Until that scandal broke in May Pat Haden was licking his chops as the ‘POC’ for the LA Memorial Coliseum and the bid to host the Summer Olympics.

He saw him, self as going with Wasserman next year to Lima for the selection of the host for the games. After all it was/is his vision that would be shown to all as the main venue for the opening, closing ceremonies as well as track and field,

How long will he stay on with the Coliseum? This was ‘his’ pet project….his signature gift in his “his vision’….his grasp….his insight that no one can even approach in terms of gravitas and purpose.”

This is the last thing that Haden has and he ain’t going to go quietly but go he shall.
