  1. No, Zach. We don’t expect you to be perfect. We expect you to play as hard as you possibly can on every snap, which is something you haven’t done since you showed up here at SC. Here is the problem with Banner in a nutshell. Count how many times he said, “I”. It is clearly obvious that his focus is on himself and not the team, and this seems to be a problem with the program as a whole. It amazes me that neither Tim Tessalone or Clay Helton has pulled him aside and basically said, “Shut the hell up and play.”

      • Lendale White called out Zach Banner.
Dion Bailey called out Marvell Tell.
Darrell Rideaux said Marvell Tell is consistently out of position. TRANSLATION=Rideaux called out Marvell Tell.
Rideaux also said if Pendergast doesn’t scheme better, stunt, blitz, and rotate he will have a conversation with Clancy.
Keyshawn Johnson said Clay Helton is not ready.

The former Trojans are clearing the air.
I should mention that all happened in the last week.

          • I think Banner not living up to the hype has irritated us all and Lendale couldn’t bite his tongue any longer.

          • He’s solid until crunch time. He had a great pass break up on that last drive that was important but on 3rd down he had that huge pass interference. He threw the dude on the ground. I don’t know if it’s coaching or its just him. One thing I’ll say is our DLINE is putting too much weight on Adoree and Biggie’s shoulders.

          • what d line? yeah our secondary suffers from no pass rush, thats a fact. but i see the guy as merely playing out of position. i think he’d be a great safety. i have never been a pendergast fan, i just see swann cleaning house and putting his guy in there. we’ve got good talent, theres no way we should look like this.

          • Exactly. No DLINE. I don’t want to pick on Kenechi Udeze, but he and Pendergast aren’t getting it done. Nope, we have all the talent in the conference. This is seriously unexceptable. And we may lose Jamel Cook and Keyshawn Young to transferring. It’s getting bad.

          • Me too. Let’s cut ties with the Carroll, Kiffin, Sark, and Helton tree. Go get a proven winner and change the culture at SC.

  2. For all the talk and hype about this guy being a top NFL pick, he got exposed badly so far especially by Alabama. If only he, other players, & the coaching staff had the same nastiness and fire that Lendale White has..(sigh)..wishful thinking I guess

  3. Our players don’t have leaders on the staff who demand the most out of them. Some coaches have the ability to do this, others just don’t, no matter what they say or do.

Why blame Banner? He’s got limited physical skills. Just a giant average athlete with a HOF daddy. I’m glad White frustrated him, though. Maybe it’ll send a message heard by other players who need to step things up. It’s on the coaches for not getting this message to the players earlier.

Hopefully we bring in a big shot coach who understands trickle down football economics, cause there’s not a lot of tricklin’ down going on with the over-rated Trojans. It all starts at the top, For guys like Noah Jefferson to be behind in their classwork with the massive, near incredible support system they have is telling. He either shouldn’t have been signed in the first place or he should have had consistent pressure on him to get his stuff done.

All signs of a soft program with a few isolated superstars or potentials in the skill spots and pervasive weakness in the trenches. Why Biggee’s still playing CB shows USC has talent which is over-rated or undeveloped.

Gomer even used the “we got tired” excuse in trying to explain the defense’s meltdown against the Utes in the 4th. What nerve. Come on Swann. Change this crap.

  4. Per Ryan Abraham.
Pete Jenkins who was assisting Kenechi Udeze and Clancy Pendergast on the Defensive line is now at LSU with Ed Orgeron.
    Just saying…

    • It ALL starts and ends with the HC. You get the right HC and all these other points of light don’t mean diddly. Unless LSU gets the right head man in there, Jenkins’ contributions won’t matter in the least.

Abraham and the other for-pay USC honks continually need stuff to talk about to charge money. What they should be talking about is how they vastly, and shockingly, over-rated USC’s recruiting classes, which never focus on large gaps, bad balance and completely questionable evaluations that are unsound and never incorporate negatives – it doesn’t sell.

      • It’s his third stint at LSU. Ed Orgeron needed a guy, seen USC was a mess swooped him up. LSU seems very happy with this addition. And on Jefferson out til November it just emphasizes the need and lack of a pass rush. We’re in trouble.

        • Ed O’s in trouble too. We’ll see how he feels when A&M (away), FLA (away), OLE MISS and ARK (away) get done with him.

          • A&M always sputters, Tennessee had their biggest comeback in school history against Florida. Those are very winnable. I think he could lose all four, but he can now experiment with the offense and see what works. He better not hey his hopes up this time.

          • Quickly…
I’m watching the movie “Steve Jobs”…the guy was a genius, I won’t spoil it for you, but he was cold.

          • Cold doesn’t near define him. Maybe the only guy as smart as him is the guy who wrote the movie – Aaron Sorkin. I realize not everyone’s a Sorkin fan, but his esoteric, ruthless dialogue was perfect for this character.

      • You may want to check out the new episode of Tosh.0
He does another segment about Lane Kiffin and burns Steve Sarkisian. Hilarious!!!

  5. Todd McShay really put poor Zach Banner out there, because everyone expects him to play like a top 5 pick nfl pick, now. But guess what? He’s not that type of player at this point of his career, and has never shown that type of talent. McShay, and a few other media Bozo’s , probably base their opinions of Banner on his size, 5 star rating coming out of high school, and the fact he attends USC. And that’s what I call BS media hype, and it comes from lazy people that don’t want to do their homework.

  6. Banner may be soft, but he seems like a decent young person. That counts for a lot in my book. Now, I’m rooting for him to toughen up.
