  1. This is another example of stupid media hype, the poll drops you based on a win ? You have to a bigger idiot then the Idiot that started this poll, if you actually follow it. Stoooopid!

      • Scott Frost will take over the Oregon program at the end of the year, I guarantee!

          • The thing about Clay Helton is, he has no leadership skills, so I don’t think he can be a head coach.

          • Once he sits down with Swann to evaluate his tenor and departure.. I am sure Lynn will cover all that.. He will give him props and pat him on the rear.. Helton will figure it out.. But not at USC in 2017!

          • What has Clay Helton brought to the program under Lane Kiffen, or Steve Sarkisian? They both had him play insignificant roles on thir coaching staffs, and gave him figure head titles.

          • Lol .. Don’t shoot .. I am just looking out for Helton.. He will be done here at SC soon enough.

I think Pat was drunk the day he hired Helton, at least its a year to year 5 and with incentives and a low buyout .. $2.3-5 mil.

          • Wasn’t that the big negative regarding those two jerks, complete control freaks? Everything from jersey numbers to calling plays. Did Helton have a chance to grow under them?

          • That’s what happens when you hand to program over to the wrong assistant. ..lol

          • The University of Oregon went to BCS games from the 2009 to 2014 seasons: the 2010 Rose Bowl, 2011 BCS National Championship Game, the 2012 Rose Bowl, the 2013 Fiesta Bowl and the 2015 Rose Bowl. That’s the Pac 12 dynasty that replaced the USC Pac 12 dynasty of 2001-2009.

  2. Based on this unscientific Charley Strong is gone by the end of this season. I wonder who Texas goes after wirh their large Athletic budget and their Permanent University fund along with all that oil money their donors have? Someone close by maybe?

    • 5-6 teams will chase after Herman.. He either stays in Houston or ends up at LSU or SC ..

    • Texas will throw so much money at Herman he won’t be able to turn it down

      • If Strong is fired Texas will definitely be a threat to hire Herman. From what people are saying his wife likes living in Texas. One thing SC has in its favor is that Tom Herman went to Cal Lutheran.

    • … and Strong was one of the Blogger’s favorites at one time. It’s good he didn’t come to USC.

      • I like Charley Strong. Did a good job under Urban Myer at Florida. Did very well at Louisville. When someone coaches at a top football program where expectations are high it’s just tough. USC in the last 50 years has had three great HC. That’s it! Even Alabama has had its ups and downs. Personnely, I would keep CH at least thru 2017. It’s only football. It’s only a game. But if SC goes for another coach at the end of this season get Coach O. He a no nonsense, tough love coach who will go toe to toe with any offense. We will see. Fight On!

          • Got to agree with you on Orgeron. If people don’t like Gomer, they sure won’t like the results of Floyd the Barber.

        • It used to be coaches were given 5 years to turn a program around… then it seemed to be 3 years… but 3 games is ridiculous. You are right, no coach in their right mind would take that risk at someplace like Texas or USC. USC has gone through a period of not only sanctions but bad head coaches. Personally, I would give Helton at least through 2017 as well. Yes he’s learning. Yes he made some mistakes. Yes he lost some games. But building a football program is a marathon and there are no quick fixes to competing for a NC.

  3. I can hardly wait for the college football season to start so Wolf can give us some good ‘Inside USC’ info………..Oh wait, It already started. S#&T!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Within a couple of weeks SoCal will find themselves bidding for head coaches against several serious & big money schools. Texas, Oregon and LSU to name three.
Besides the well-earned nickname of Clown College, the SoCal bid carries with it the baggage of almost a decade of sanctions, unadvised hiring, quick & shameful firings, player arrests, and general drama that seems to be ongoing. SoCal is now being run by a newbie A.D. that was named for his name and neither his experience nor his acumen.
The Swan is about to find out why St. Pat hired the guys he hired, nobody else would take the job.

    • Has UCLA ever hired a big name coach? Don’t say Jim Mora. I meant “big game” coach?

      • Most recent bozo u big game = BIG, humiliating, loss – Alabama 52 – 2 long, cheap, irrelevant FG’s.

When will bozo u (choka, choka, choka) make a NCAA sweet 16 tournament round: 2344 AD.

          • Sammy, you obviously need to boost your self esteem. There’s a good reason you’re small and irrelevant.

Have you finished shining 55’s shoes, cause Mushy, Mushy wants his pedicure ASAP.

            Toejam on.

    • You can do better than this, Metabolic. Cut the fantasy and give LA’s Finest, The University of Southern California, the Praise we have earned on the field of play. FIGHT ON, TROJANS !!! BEAT THE BUFFALOES !!!

  5. Someone on this blog stated that Swann had contacted Josh McDaniels’ agent. Article today states that McDaniels will likely be leaving the Patriots for the right Head Coaching opportunity. Did not mention NFL. Coincidence?

    • He has no proven track record, other than riding Bill Belichick’s coattail. When he had his opportunity he blew it, by drafting Tim Tebow with the Broncos #1 pick. So he’s basically another Bozo with no leadership skills.

  6. Helton seems more like a high school college advisor or a counselor but not a head coach. The first two are typically “cool” with students but really not authoritative. A HC yells first and asks questions later.
