USC Morning Buzz: Where Is Pat Haden? (Updated)

helton-hadenI was told by a school official that Pat Haden is still working for USC and leading the fundraising for the Coliseum renovation project. Haden’s office is not on campus, however, but in downtown Los Angeles, where USC has many offices, including the 32-story Occidental building on Olive and 12th streets.

Haden was reportedly on campus last week for a meeting regarding the Coliseum. Anyone see him at the game?

  1. If I was a betting guy, then I would bet that nobody cares about this spineless dweeb’s where abouts

  2. SW’s creepy obsession about Haden’s constant whereabouts is what Inside USC does best now. It’s bizarre, this SW-driven Haden Watch. End this silly preoccupation.

    • Exactly… The actions similar to women who can’t seem to leave things be … Just let go SW.. Walk away! Lol

    • Before haden, it was Sark, before him Kiffen, before him Pete Carroll. It’s what he does.

    • It isn’t a silly preoccupation – Haden was the point man in rightly, going after Bush. He used the full power of the university to do so – now suddenly a individual that took financial advantage of a foundation it was his duty to protect used that foundation to enrich himself personally and find salaries for his sister-in-law and daughter.

Haden is as arrogant as ever and USC does nothing but permit him to go on – after all he’s ‘Pat Haden’ – blank haden

      • If you need to know then, he’s working at the AT & T Center, the old Occidental Life Bldg in South Park/LA.

        • Oh ok so I’m acting obsessive? I like your replies jack but this isn’t just another ‘Sarlisian is drunk and cursing’ this is a real mess and it goes right to the old stereotype of USC – Univ. of Spoiled Children – here there is an opportunity to make a break from that ‘view’ and USC won’t even announce Haden is no longer on the Coliseum renovation – no he’s there and no blow back for Pat.

  3. I think he’s rotating the topics he covers…. kiffin, sark, poll, helton(4th down), haden.

  4. I said I was taking the week off from complaining but Scott took it as a challenge. So what exactly are we getting for the fee tacked on to our tickets for the coliseum renovation? My guess is its paying the salary of Pat Haden. It sure isn’t for renovating the stadium unless you think waterless urinals is an improvement.

  5. A “Where’s Pat” post and a post about something a Cowherd said a year ago? Is the blogger one of the scary stalker clowns being seen on the east coast?

  6. Scottie,
As an AP Poll voter, wouldn’t your time be better utilized watching/evaluating games rather than tracking the habits of retired Athletic Directors (Pat Haden AND Mike Garrett)?

As the saying goes “keep your eye on the prize.”
errr, maybe SW’s eyes ARE on his prize 😉

    • You WIN the comment of the day!.. Except I doubt SW knows anything about football evaluations.. Ask him about food.. He probably knows a great buffet restaurant or two in LA.. Maybe near Haden’s downtown LA USC office!

  7. Wolfman,

Keep asking the questions we want answers to.

Your winged-monkeys will find him for you.
I’d check one of his country clubs, probably starting with the ones out of state. If that doesn’t work, you can just wait for TMZ to find him at an airport.

Greed isn’t good but revenge is sweet.
    Never cross The Wolfman.

  8. I am glad SW has pursued this issue and we all should.

Back in 1981 a great film called ‘True Confessions’ was made. The opening scene shows an aging priest sitting outside on the front steps of a clapboard single story church with a swirling wind full of sand – he thinks back and the point of that scene is how he landed out there instead of where he had been – a rich parish in LA.

The character Fr. Des Spellacy, played by Robert DeNiro had just tangentially been ‘associated’ with the disappearance and subsequent murder of a young girl.

My point – the character was so full of true remorse without really being his due, he had taken a hard look at his life, his choices, his ‘comfort’ level and realized how slowly he had drifted away from what made him become what he was. He decided to live out his remaining years isolated in a desert community far from the glitter of Beverly Hills and serve the needy in Indio.

If what SW has listed is true – consider the contrast. Pat Haden ensconced in some high rise bldg. ‘…leading fundraising for the Coliseum’s renovation…” I would hope someone at one of those ‘meet and greet’ asks him publicly how it is he still has any connection with USC and why it is USC hasn’t asked for his resignation.

Reminds me a bit of Mahony after the pederast priest scandal broke and was settled back in 2008. I was attending one of his regional ‘state of the archdiocese’ at St. Francis X. Cabrini at Imperial and Normandie. After his song and dance explaning the $600+ million settlement a guy got up and stated “If you were the head of a corporation you’d be fired by now.” You could of heard a pin drop and then Mahony began his goofy convoluted meandering explanation.

    Point? Why isn’t Haden gone?

‘blank’ Pat Haden and all the ‘Pat Hadens’ of the world – fire that bum – he’s a disgrace to USC
