USC Post-Practice Report

Offensive tackle Zach Banner (ankle) is “doubtful” and “doesn’t look promising” to play against Colorado according to Clay Helton.

The USC coach, who said he went for it on 4th down against Arizona State because he was scared of the Sun Devils’ offense, said he needs to be equally aggressive against Colorado. Does this mean USC will go for it on its 42-yard line?

“We are playing some of the more high-powered offenses in our conference,” Helton said. “You have to be aggressive.”

  1. Banner’s a big boy but he also weighs a ton – he needed to drop some weight going into this season – it all flows down exponentially to the joints (knees and ankles).

    • The bones in his hips were so big that they were rubbing together. He had to have surgery for it last season. I’m sure that big guh-loot is in the ice tub for hours every day. He’s a mammoth in a humans body.

  2. I personally do not think Banner will be missed on the O line. The replacements seem to be able to move better and obviously see the pass rush coming better.
