Andy Enfield spoke at Pac-12 media day about the decision of Julian Jacobs and Nikola Jovanovic to turn pro.
“They made their own decisions to move on and become draft picks, and unfortunately for both they did not get drafted. Signed on as free agents for training camp and did not make the teams. So they’ll have to fight their way back to the NBA their own route. An individual decision.”
It was both devastating for the fortunes the team this season.and sad for both players.
Bad advice!
Very bad advice indeed. Perhaps the NCAA should consider revisiting their eligibility rules. The players are much worse off and the team is much worse off. While it is true that the players made their own choice, good rules don’t lead to such bad outcomes.
Exactly.. Read up a few ..what I responded to Bucket.
Thanks – I did not see your reply earlier.
Perhaps the players should just be smart and stay in school instead of opting to start taking money.
The real truth is, a lot of them don’t really want to be in school. They’re much more basketball players than students and always have been.
so how does it FEEL to have your players leave early??
now you know what the mighty BRUINS deal with constantly!!!
#WelcomeToOurWorld
I have been in the industry 27 years now. Hate seeing these kids get bad advice. I rep many .. I always encourage them to finish their commits at school.
beat it T-Fail.

Lol.. Funny considering you have no clue who I am..
55 has no shoes to shine so he flaps his mouth.
Lol.. 55 .. Thats the problem, that is not me and either is T-fail. I have been in the sports and entertainment industry 27 years .. 22 has calmed down which is good, I suggest you and bucket do the same. You never know who is blogging.. I enjoy all of you!
all the great old shoe shiners have gone to the big shoe shine stand in the sky….
Messina still sends 55 his shoes to shine. Osa has to look good in court.
Where you been? Heard you disbanded the cadre because Rosen got hurt
#SeasonOver
there are OTHER things more pressing than the Southern Cal blog (forgive me wolfman)
the Cadre has been compelled to redistribute our considerable resources to the Presidential race.
Cadre have been working the blogs (Hill, Politico, Breitbart) in support of our Supreme Goddess, Hillary!!!
as you know, i am on RECORD predicting Hillary’s ascendancy to the throne, er, White House since the 90’s!!! with my prophesy so CLOSE to fruition, we have pulled out ALL THE STOPS!!!!
#Goo-goo’sNightmare
No wonder you disappeared. Hillary’s thug Creamer hired you to attack Trump supporters and police!
Do the thugs that were hired by the convict Hillary count towards jobs created?
Squatter, how is your second story cardboard box for a home doing?
Where’s Mique?
he’s watching Osa.

“Sad But True”-Metallica
I actually would like the.Tech’s pull out a victory fpr us to be alive for the conference title but, we all now Ucla’s on life suppprt and basically gone A-Wall!
That would be backing into it, thats what westwood does.
I know.. But we need Utah to lay an egg!
Found him! He’s in my avatar.
By the way Bucket .. Your HRC is a idiot.. #nuc-code
response time .. Lol #ignorant
(wishing i hadn’t made such a big deal about criticizing the “chicken switch”…..)
Do him, he’s out trumps Trump.
Trump is our best option!
Chucky, instead of a dream by saying mighty bruins, come back to reality and just say cheatin’ ruins
22, if Andyain’twinning’s BB program was such a winner, why did so many (6) players desert for an unknown NBA future or xfer to other Div. 1 teams.
It doesn’t say much for the players respect for Andyain’twinning coaching abilities or his BB program.
Using your “logic”, what does it say about those players that transfer “in” and want to play for Andy?
Duke 5 ⭐️ PG D. Thornton
Louisville 5⭐️ Shaquille Aaron
Tell me….
Both players didn’t make it at better BB programs.
bozo u is a second chance, downscale BB program.
I mean in 17 NCAA appearances, bozo u was ONE & DONE NINE (9) times.
2,4,6, 8 bozo u choka, choka, choka, choke.
#where’sshuckiebuggs?
5 ⭐️ Talent not making it….. You had to dig deep and think long on that….
How about this one….local players who wanted to be near home! Fact check that! It’s on Google! Chuckie will be coached up and be drafted by an NBA team! Skills!
I doan’t think so. A Duke BB recruit xfers to bozo u. LOL ludicrous.
Remind me, when has Duke ever scheduled bozo u in BB. Another LOL Hee-Hee.
bozo u lost to Army at home. Hilarious!
Duke or Louisville BB teams and bozo u BB in the same breathe……….I doan’t think so.
While your ruins have been irrelevant since 1995.. Thats pretty harsh trash talking my school.. Even your football team is a national joke..lol #DOA #lifesupport #done #1954
MORA’s Mentally checked out!
Just keep changing my point taken!
Run along now! I thought you were a worthy Btech adversary which is why I would reply with cognitive script!
Enjoy playing with your little truck and small peas! Dig deep!
The point is Andyain’twinning/bozo u’s BB program SUCC’s.
Thornton is saying that he’s gonna help land some big players.
Snore.
Keep snoring.
#Threeeeeeeeee
Billy 5⭐️ Preston!
The Thornton’s & Preston’s know each other very well!!
BFD, Hitler and Stalin knew each other also – how did that work out?
Bunky and Sammy have claimed Preston would sign with bozo u for 9 months – “SNOOZERS.” If Preston has savvy peps, no way Preston attends bozo u.
Besides,If Andyain’trecruiting can’t close the deal, what makes you think some bozo u loser xfer can deliver Preston.
Certainly Preston will pass bozo u’s “fog a mirror” scholastic requirements.
Pretty sure the guys that transferred from SC did so because they saw the writing on the wall that said they’d be sitting on the end of the bench watching all the talent Enfield’s bringing in.
Thank you Christian
So replacing seniors with discarded freshmen is good for boao u? If you say so.
That’s why bozo u is picked to finish 7th in the Pac-12 BB conf! – 10th is more like it.
Keep playing with your little truck and small peas!
Truth hurts Bunky.
#pagingshuckiebuggs
Only guy SC would have been better off with was Clark. They’ll miss his physicality. All the others would have been garbage time fillers.
Huh? You actually believe they won’t miss Jacobs?
I was referring strictly to players that transferred
✅ Well said!
No. Not devastating for the team. Not at all.
IG, IMHO, The loss of Julian Jacobs is a Big Time Hurt to the 2016-2017 Trojan BB Team. Why ? Jacobs is a seasoned, proven, productive Point Guard who would be returning for his Senior year to Lead a very young team that just might improve exponentially with Jacobs in charge.Surely Jovanovic could be turned into a 6″11′ beast contributor if he stayed humble, using his Senior year to work his butt off doing what his coaches tell him to work on and perfect. 12 months is a long time.
Losing Jacobs is to an uncertain NBA future is a huge blotch on Andywinning’s coaching chops.
Jacobs drove the bozo u offense. Now Andyain’twinning has to improvise an offense with multiple inadequate point guards. LOL.
You don’t win BB NC’s w/o a great PG.
These kids are pressured by greed from their handlers and family .. They want to please everyone.. As we have now seen .. It hurts them the most. #badadvice
Exactly. 22, I do not care about their future once they leave USC. But I do care about the devastation these two, i’l call them blagards, did to our USC Basketball Team. Two truly stupid decisions.and now the payback of fate. Thanks for the information, SW.
I know a lot of people who are glad to see Jovanovich gone. The dude was softer than Ru-Paul. Jacobs not so much. We weren’t expected to do anything last season and we got better. Enfield and his staff have recruited their own players and so far they’ve been money. Stewart, McLaughlin, Boatwright, Metu. All Andy Enfield, Tony Bland and Jason Hart’s players. Now they have Shaqquan Aaron ready to play plus another transfer and 4 freshman. One thing we know is we’re getting kids to play at USC…..for Basketball….. We’ll be just fine.
So Enfield ended up being a good coach now. When he got hired there was sure a lot of bad mouthing him on here. Glad he is being successful. Perhaps Helton can do the same? Only time will tell.
Can he stop a simple inbound play under the basket?
We had a Little League game and I had to miss that. I’m glad I didn’t see it now.
“Coach, do you feel bad at all for sending Bel Air Tech to the Dentist three (3) times last year?”
Nah!
LMAO!
Gosh Mr Andyain’twinning, what’s it feel like for bozo u to choka, choka, choka, and go ONE & DONE on a Providence in bounds pass, 1 inch layup?
I hear you Mr. Andyain’twinning, the bozo u defense you designed SUCC’d. Yeah I know you beat UCLA 3 times but so what. You choked big time in the big boy tournament and bozo u is still OOOOOOOOO forever.
#bigboys52-littleboys6
Lol! He better win. If not for us, for himself. He should be on the hotseat, but it’s Bel Air Tech.
No hot seat for the chimp! Keep him on the payroll! USC likes easy W’s from Btech!
You are right!
Keep him on the sidelines.
40-21 SC
UCLA 3 – 1 in the last four FB games. Yawn.
Were you yawning last time in the Coliseum. It’s only one win, but that was a smacking and SC is gonna do more at the Rose Bowl. Get ready pal. Get ready…….
But I was in the previous three games. So was Su’a every time Hundley ran by him on the way to TDville.
Like I said.
See ya in the Rose Bowl.
Then we’ll talk after.
If you decide to show up here before midnight.
We have to live and learn ,hope they did learn…I did see SC is ranked in top 40, a decent start and probably accurate
There ya go, listening to the “experts” again.
ACTUALLY I have them doing better than that…I just mentioned it I think those Pac12 experts are dead wrong to make them 7th in conference,I see 3-4th,maybe better.
Without Jacobs?
YES
7th in the Pac 12= #40 nationally?
Pac 12 in 7th islocal writers, correct?, but 40th was polling national like AP, or others
Poor decisions by both of them. Curious as to what they were told to make them think they had a shot at making a roster.
The handlers get into their heads ..You are great kid. Do whats best for you and your family… While they count on them to make them monies. These kids cave to pressure!
It was better than playing for Andyain’twinning.
Hahaaa!
Don’t blame the agents. Everyone, even the players, know where they’re coming from. Heck, a street-smart 16 year old would know agent talk isn’t real for middling prospects like the J Boys.
These young adults had dozens of people in their ears about the hazards of a wrong move, yet they still took off knowing all the consequences, all the risks.
I’m sure AE did his best to help them avoid their bad moves, but he couldn’t save them from themselves. Jovanovic is barely even a loss. Jacobs would have been terrific to hold onto and helped this team a lot.
AE’s a good coach. He was actually a smart Haden decision IMHO and has already shown he can do okay with mediocre talent, which is basically a tradition of USC hoops.
I heard it was an academics issue for Jacobs, and Jovanovich wants to be in Europe – so he didn’t care much about not making an NBA team.
Exactly. These dudes had other agendas which is why they bolted in the first place.
So, a Law Student drops out after the 2nd year and tries to get any type of Legal Job they can. When they fail, are they not allowed to go back to Law School one more year to improve their chances? Like it or not, Division 1 Athletics are the training for future professional sports employment for many students. The purpose of a University is to provide training for future employment. To not allow these students back into the “Sports Classroom” is criminal. But then again, so is the NCAA Mafia.
Cal and Oregon are awful. WOW!
Payback is a bitch. I have no sympathy for those two. My 16 year old knows what she has to accomplish before I sign my three bars over to her. These guys messed up, big time. Where were their parents?
So far Enfield has sucked more than anyone in the history of USC basketball (literally holds the record) and this year, he got a mediocre record in the worst power conference in basketball (literally by its tourney record).
Loading up an easy record and still being mediocre after having a couple of the worst seasons in team history… USC basketball has had no issue in getting talent, and its NBA placement is among the better college teams, even with all the turmoil. In the one-and-done world, SC can’t expect to be much different than other teams. And some of the youngest teams are the teams that win NCAA championships.
Pat Haden gave Enfield the big contract extension, so players running away from the program who really had no reason to speaks to some other issues- some having to do with the players, some with the program, it’s never one thing. But one thing about the extension that’s good. It took away any (new) excuses.
