Does This Mean Less Even Less Parking For USC Games?

George Lucas is going to build his museum either in Exposition Park or San Francisco. I like the building but it sure looks like it will take away parking. Always my main concern for fans!

  1. Bring the Lucas to Exposition Park. Perfect. This is the new happening part of L.A. and everyone knows it. Great for SC and the Coli. George is all about SC so the bond is just reinforced. Hope we beat San Francisco here.

    • I’d like to see this Lucas museum in LA too, but don’t kid yourself about Expo Park being the new happening part of LA.

      • You’re the only person alive who hasn’t heard of the insane revival of downtown L.A. and the amazing development along the Figueroa corridor. Funny.

        • That or perhaps I’ve been really involved in the revival of DTLA.

          Expo Park is NOT DTLA
          usc is NOT in DTLA

As a native Angeleno, what is indisputable is that both locations directly above are part of what has historically been know as South Central (now euphemistically all referred to as “South LA”). I’ve got a lot of love for South Central because of community economic development projects I’ve led in the area. There’s tons of history there and very resilient people who have lived through a lot.

          Your version is geographic revisionism.

          • USC is two miles from L.A. Live and the Staples Center. That’s right, two. You’re obviously geographically challenged.

Everyone but you knows USC is all about downtown and has always been associated with that area because of our proximity and because we are the largest private employer in L.A. Fact.

          • …or three miles but, hey, who’s counting? You just proved my point: usc is three miles away from south Downtown and, thus, not Downtown. I recommend you take a beginner-level logical reasoning course to improve upon your argumentative skills.

Then you threw out the irrelevant red herring regarding usc being the largest private employer in the city, which has nothing to do with whether usc is located in DTLA. Even if the former is the case, UCLA still dwarfs usc by employing 16,000 more people than sc (in a conservative estimate) and generating more than $13 billion in economic impacts and activity for LA.

          • Too bad you can’t see the forest for the trees. It’s a simple concept which eludes you as usual. You’ll never get it.

          • Sure. You just got schooled with facts and had nothing to come back with. Every native Angeleno knows that usc is in South LA and not in Downtown. You’ve got nothing to come back with on that.

          • I never said USC was in downtown L.A. You are remarkably dense and don’t know how to read. Thanks for playing little gutty. Hah, hah, hah.

          • Are the Bruins so bad that you’ve been reduced to debating which section of Los Angeles is home to USC?

  2. You complain about any and everything. Who cares about parking. It’s not like attendance is great anyways with Clueless Clay.

  3. With all the new construction, when will there be a new Coli. Blow up that old thing and build something from this Century.

  4. Lucas is going to build it and then, like the original trilogy, keep coming back to it year after year to keep adding unnecessary little things here and there even though it comes out good.

There will always be a construction crew around that site for the next thirty years. Pretty soon, the only way to go to the Coliseum will be by public transportation.

  5. Just another project pushing USC into one of the top universities in the country.
    #parking?

  6. Lucas placing his museum in Exposition Park adjacent to his alma mater USC and near Hollywood makes much more sense that building it on Treasure Island in the Bay Area. Yes, his film empire was located in the Bay Area, but most movie fans visit the LA area and not SF.

Interesting the rendering still shows the now demolished Sports Arena instead of the new Soccer Stadium, which would have given the scene a nicer overall look.

Also according to the LATs the proposal calls for a subterranean parking structure for 1,800 cars.

  7. You lied and said I said USC was in downtown L.A. Too bad for you. You got hammered again little gutty. You’re not only stupid, you’re a liar and not man enough to admit it.

It’s always fun making you little gutties look silly on a Trojan blog. Your poor little football team deserves you!
