About USC-Notre Dame Kickoff

1129_SPT_LDN-L-USC-NOTREDAME-HGSince I was very critical of the night kickoff for the USC-UCLA game, I should applaud the 12:30 p.m. kickoff for USC-Notre Dame. But let’s be honest, it’s Notre Dame’s lousy record that makes it a day game. It’s too bad USC and Notre Dame can’t be like Michigan and just say, “this game will always be a day game.”

  1. The only reason Ohio St Michigan is a day game is because the weather. Stop reaching Wolfie.

  2. MI has won one ‘nc’ since 1948 – 19917 defeating EA St. and Ryan Leaf in the Rose Bowl – Lloyd Carr head coach.

Why that squad is ever i n any discussion is bizarre at best i.e. Harbaugh’s in town therefore they’re destined to be champs.

Wait until it happens and my wish is for them (MI) to lose to OH St, this week – get moved down to the Rose Bowl against USC.

  3. You just couldn’t leave it on a positive note could you Blogger. Just not in your nature.

    • Scott if often enjoyable, but there is a monotony: “I don’t like evening games, I like 12:30 games. However, the only reason it’s at 12:30 is that ND has slipped this year. But ND/USC doesn’t get the respect or power/influence that OSU/MI gets.”

This year, ND/USC is not “highly anticipated”, but ND does have an offense and a mobile QB, and recruits pretty well, and it might be tougher than UCLA prioved to be. Just win the d*** game!

It would be fun if OSU beat MI, and USC and MI would meet in a bowl game this year (or USC and OSU, if MI wins).

      These are good problems, right?

      • If they win a national championship, then I will be wrong, but i have no problems being wrong with USC football. Because all of my predictions over the last five years about coaching, and direction have been right, so being wrong would be a good thing…IMO

        • I guess I don’t understand. What are your expectations? A playoff run every year? Not gonna happen.

          • Alabama has a playoff run every year, so why not USC ? But nevertheless, I want the Trojans to compete week in, and week out

          • There is nothing wrong in wanting them to do it. Its just not reality. Alabama is really an outlier. Once Saban leaves, it will be over

          • The PAC 12 is horribly weak, and probably will be for years to come based on the coaching. So a major program like USC should have no problems making a playoff run year after year.

          • USC should be always building for national championships with the talent we attract. The coaching carousel stopped that the last decade.

  4. The line up for Saturday, Mich/OSU, then USC/ND, then Utah/Colo.

Gotta get some more wings and beer. Gonna be a long day.

  5. Michigan only plays on Saturdays. Michigan only plays day games… Michigan, Michigan, Michigan….. Sounds like someone has a Harb On.

  6. Notre Dame requested the afternoon game. It gives their players more time to pick up their homework and put it in their own handwriting before class on Monday.
