Well, really who cares about this game? It’s Utah-Colorado that matters. Adoree Jackson sure played like someone who knew it was his final game at the Coliseum. There wasn’t much of a crowd today (announced as 72,204) and the attendance average this season was 68,459, lowest since 2002.

Notre Dame is so bad this year it is hard to take anything away from this game except for their poor sportsmanship. Wasnt much of a game . Time for utah-colorado
Good time to be a fan of the conference!
Uhhh…it was ND’s “bowl game”… nothing more for them this year.
Man whodda’ thunk ‘The Princess’ would start treating the USC game as bel-air tech does – ‘…their bowl game.’
SUPER ACTION JACKSON VS THE DOMERS! ACTION JACKSON WINS BY KO!!!
Yes! Poor Flounder…all these SC wins are killing him….
Best part is we had a huge recruiting class at this game. ABC Helton.
#top5classcoming
I cared about this game and I’m sure the seniors did too! And some of them came up big! Darreus Rogers leading the team in receiving, Justin Davis with some good runs, Michael Hutchings under appreciated all year with a sack. Zach Banner (who of course also got a false start), Chad Wheeler, and Nico Falah opening up big holes.
And if it’s JuJu’s last game at the Coli, he picked up a TD and nothing else needs to be said about Adoree’s playmaking ability. The kid hurdled someone and never lost speed! One more year!!
USC went undefeated at home this season and in the month of November. I haven’t seen that in quite a few years.
Fight On!
Not an overly inspired USC team today. Did enough to win. The rain exposed the offensive line when Helton decided to grind it out and couldn’t. Sam had possibly his worst showing, but never got sacked. Hope Ware is okay. #99 for ND was really looking for someone to cut his knees out. Defense was hot and cold. And of course, there is Adoree Jackson, player of the game, the best game he has ever played for USC.
Spot on
I saw a great game against an old foe that came to play and played hard. We won and the last Irish td was garbage time anyway
Lot’s of negatory stuff in your post, steveg. Did you happen to witness the tornadic winds and pouring rain during much of the first half ? Did you happen to notice the play by play excellence of USC’s number 27 and number 8 and number 42 on defense ? Number 25, extraordinary USC Tailback, is not covered or even mentioned in your post. I’ve never seen the likes of the game day weather. Sorry to say I would have insisted that my wife and I listen to the game in our vehicle.
I always enjoy your posts. Our Trojans, the Trojan Team, CRUSHED THE IRISH. BLEW THEM AWAY. ENJOY !!!!
Nice coverage, I hate writing (and reading) long posts so just mentioned the stuff that stuck out most. Rojo played well, ran great when he had a hole. Like I said, defense was hot and cold but good enough to win.
Sir, USC ran 205 on the ground in the rain. That is a little t of yardage considering they are playing against a forcible foe and the weather. I disagree but that is okay that we both have an opinion.
THANKSGIVING HANGPOVER BUT, Hey they win again.. 9-3 and a possible championship game.. Way to go boys! #fighton
Great exit, one-of-a-kind performance by Adoree. He will be missed in many areas.
Our very mediocre OL makes it so hard for USC to gain momentum outside of spectacular plays by either Adoree or Darnold.
I feel sorry for our RBs half the time who are lucky to get 1-2 yds, or not get dropped for a loss.
Sloppy, uneven game, caused in part by bad reffing and long reviews.
ND came to play, more so than SC did. Thank God we had Adoree today or only God knows what would have happened.
Rojo ?
Over 205 yards rushing today for USC, not bad
ND outrushed us big-time, and they’re no good.
Much of the time Darnold is running for his life, trying to improvise and save plays. If we had Browne at QB, we would have big problems and be going nowhere.
Both our RBs and Darnold would be a lot better off with a good OL.
Last time I saw before leaving the Colisuem, nd had 151 yards rushing and USC had 205
If you’re happy with the Trojan running game and pass blocking, more power to you.
I think our OL is woeful much of time and can barely get out of its own way.
They have improved but they need to get the blitz blocking more secure. Running in rain is tough to do due to footing for the line and rb
I’m basing my feelings on all season, not just today. We need more athletic OLs. That’s where I’m coming from. We have big, slow plodders. Hope we change our evaluation standards.
Overall, I agree with u. I believe the o line might be too big and they all could take off a few pounds to help them bein quicker, but better athletic players are needed. Give them a year or so
I will take the win, but not a great team game. just average from the offensive line at best. Sam did well at times and other times he was off.
ND Classy as ever
I was really wishing someone would put the hurt on 99 but Kelly never let him back in the game.
Kelly was saving his player’s knees as much as punishing him. No one would’ve batted an eye if he got chop blocked on the next series.
Adoree Jackson is the “Man” , but he’s not quite ready for NFL receivers .
Adoree will never be a great NFL DB. Too little and easily shut-off from balls.
Special teams and specially designed offensive plays are his gig.
He’s never getting any bigger. Stay to win a NC? SC will never win another NC until it gets another dominating OL and I don’t see that happening on 2017.
Do you remember Nickell Robey? Hello. Jackson is a better athlete and will excel at the next level. He’s a 5’11” elite long jumper. Freak o nature
Nickell Robey was an undrafted FA who is about 5-8 max and is a good, not great NFL player.
Adoree is closer in height to Nickell than he is to 5-11. You’re blind if you can’t see that.
Adoree is a real stretch as a first round tiny corner with great return skills who gets beat fairly often in coverage. He’s a good 2nd rounder compared to Robey, who wasn’t even drafted.
Robey is a great athlete; he is not even in the same class as Jackson. Robey never sniffed at an Olympic team. Adoree’s sportsmanship and passion, evident by him making the biggest plays on the biggest stage at the biggest moments, controls the game at this level. It may be true that he is a better athlete than a football player but his talents will translate well in the NFL. Let the Seahawks draft him and give him top tire secondary coaching. How many responsibilities (freshman having extensive offense role during Kiffin’s ‘video game’ coordinating) and coaches has he had in three years at USC?
As I said, if you think Adoree is close to 5-11, you’re nuts. And he’s already being coached by an NFL coach in Bradford.
All I said is he’s a 2nd rounder IMHO, not a first because bigger NFL WRs will beat him every day – like they do now.
If Adoree goes in the first, whohoo! I’m all for him. SC’s greatest special teams player ever. Hope he has a strong NFL career like Robey.
Robey is a great athlete; he is not even in the same class as Jackson. Robey never sniffed at an Olympic team. A long jumper at less than 5’10”? He jumped the same distance as 2016 NCAA champion who is listed at 6’3+. The shorter you make him, the more impressed I am with his athleticism.
A victory over the drunks! I tried to find that # 28 who cheap shot Ware but not the same on the roster for them – the clown was grinning way after the hit when the USC rb was still on the ground
A win is a win. But all performances are not equal. Tobe 9 & 3 after a 1 &3 start isn’t too shabby. I will take this win without complaint .
Thank you, Scott (aka “Debbie Downer”) Wolf. Excellent reporting from the mind of a paranoid schizophrenic…
And there I was thinking beating Notre Dame by 18 was a good thing. Thanks for setting me straight Wolfie!
No one is surprised at the actions of 99 when Brian Kelly is his coach.
For a UCLA fan…you’re an objective fan. Kudos.
Truth is, despite SC’s dramatic turnaround from 2016 Season Chapter1 (losses to Bama, Furd, Utah) it would seem that Trojan Nation is the most pathetic fan base in all of Top 20 CFB. It boggles the mind seeing the Coliseum empty out half way through this game because — OUCH! EWW! – it rained a little. What bunch of dimwitted fair weather “fans”… always obsessed with traffic on the 101…or making it home to Mission Viejo before Applebees gets too crowded. Effin’ WIMPS.
Applebees?
#dotheyhaveawinelist?
Ohh….I’m sorry…I meant to say Taco Bell…
Obvious Bruin troll.
#4-7
Sorry make that 4-8. Nothing like getting rolled by Cal.
#LMAO
They showed Mora and he looked lost. Your team is in trouble next year
What ? the Bruinzone message boards too depressing for ‘ya ??? Or is it the 12 -0 deficient to Cal at halftime ?
His friends have are all hibernating for now, especially after watching that swarm like defense of Cal…Or is it that crappy offense of the bRuins?
USC yoyo – does it ever occur to you that those of us who critique SC football are…drum roll…. NOT bruins?!
What are ya’ Indians? woo woo woo….
Dear Child-like Creature,
I am a lifetime Trojan fan going back to 1967. If you think a TV camera scanning across an empty Coliseum has anything to do with ucla, or reflects well on SC, you are more clueless than seem to be….
Did u show up to the game today? I did and I stayed the entire game. Very good and exciting game
You are entitled to your opinion. So brave of you to say that and not hide behind some made up name.
#youarespinelessandyouknowit
#biteme
gonna take on all comers, eh?
sorry, meant to say #blowme.
i don’t take requests.
Not a request, Pepe….an order.
Give it a rest asshole
Ok Facial eyeful
worry about your looser school that plays to a half full stadium every week
babble on, midget.
Spitters are quitters
Whuuut?
time to stop this stupid crap children.
Time for SC fans to elfin’ SHOW UP in large numbers and not WIMP OUT because of light rain. EMBARRASSING.
The reason there was a lower turnout was because bel-air tech fans saw the train wreck that is ‘The Princess’ this year and stayed away in droves.
Babble on….
Leave already, mouthful.
Do you have a problem facing reality? Good win, no doubt. Embarrassing show of support from SC fans.
Get it yet?
Perhaps. However, if you are from SoCal, it’s raining, a sort of early start etc you could kinda see this coming.
Zzzzzzz….. like I said: WIMPY FANS.
Better win that NCAA mens tourney this year after all that daddy of that player stated you all will….(snicker)
Your fans didn’t show up last Saturday night
4 – 8 = More of the same Mora
I love you….I honestly love you
U Clowns Lose Again. LMAO.
Let #99 walk about 1 mile in any direction away from the Coli and see how long he survives. What a f’ing neuter shame loser. Disgraceful.
Even though Darnold had a so-so game, a good team finds ways to win games. What is so cool about Adoree’s game is that it continues the line of game breaking, dynamic playmakers that have donned the cardinal and gold. Good for recruiting in the way Bush was and is.
Adoree was unbelievable, obviously. Offense was, eh. And the defense was flat out gassed early. Came up big but ND had some long drives followed by quick USC scores. All things considered I thought the defense played tough and shouldn’t be criticized. .
Wolf will find something wrong
I seriously keep telling myself that I can’t keep reading this blog because SW’s posts are so deliberately negative. This was a huge win (no college team plays a clean game from start to finish, these are kids after all) and this team and coaching staff have proven their talent and heart. Yet SW tries to take a crap on it. Not sure if it’s who he is or his way of stirring things up to get a debate going, but regardless of the reason its journalistically dishonest. I, for one, am enjoying this win!
Well said. Wolf is undoubtedly “America’s worst best writer”
you mean the BEST Beat Writer…if Hell-ton had listened to reason, USC would be in the playoffs….instead of waiting for one more HOLIDAY BOWL invite!!!
#Idiots
Helton waited to long to start Darnold, and it costs us a game. But if you think we are going to the Holiday Bowl, and that Wolf is the Gold Standard for beat writers, your problems are more serious than anything I can offer. You need professional help.
I wish everyone on here would contact espn and tell them what terrible announcers they had doing the game, telling all their fun personal stories and not announcing the game.
ABC couldn’t put together a simple piece about Jackson one foot interception, then show Woodson as the last defensive player to win the Heisman., Cut to Woodson interception against Ohio St. It was a made for TV piece. Ez
Utah looks flat.
As a freaking pancake, but gotta credit Buff defense, looked aight.
Next year we will be there, mark my words! 2017 National Champions!
Fight on!
So if Utah doesn’t win, we sit around and wait for a bowl invite? Boooorrring!!!
A long week of waiting.
I always watch this game I didn’t get see all of it because I had to rescue my daughter at the bus station, but what I saw I liked. I also saw why Max Browne is second string. The guy does nothing in the backfield.
I heard the crowd chanting “one more year” but I am unclear as to whom they were referring.
Next game can Adoree throw a touchdown pass? I mean he was competing with Anthony Davis for the title Notre Dame killer. So I’m thinking he tosses the ball on a high arc and runs under it for a TD.
Referring to Adoree. His image was on the Video Board at the time
Utah is horrible. This is absurd. We f’d ourselves early on this season.
I don’t know about horrible frankly CO isn’t going to beat WA
They will get manhandled.
Yeah
CH may not regret starting Browne but I hope he learned that a bad Sept can stop a potentially great team from getting a chance to even prove it.
Truth.
I suspect CH doesn’t regret his decision as much as he learned from it. I think (& hope) he did learn from it. And will treat similar situations differently in the future. You and I agree that Sam elevated this team & it would not have ended 9 & 3 without him. CH should get some credit for not losing the team & providing a steady hand. Hopefully his game management will continue to improve as well. Beating UCLA & ND in back to back weekends is sweet end to the regular season. Hopefully the turn around will help lead to a good recruiting class–full of nasty linemen.
Amen.
The Utah loss took place when Helton still was like a deer in the headlights, and he was still learning how to coach in crunch times. His motto was “Punt on!”. Remember that? LOL! He’s come a long way with a huge help from his new quarterback, but he’s still got ways to go to put the team in the major leagues. And the task should start with building powerful interior lines.
True. We hired a coach who was learning on the job and paid the price early, but can’t complain now that we’re running well with Sam and Adoree as our saviors.
All we need is a dominant OL and boom, we’d be one scary outfit. And imagine RoJo with consistent blocking.
Yep! That’s what the doctor ordered!
I know the blogger is upset, because the team he gets paid to cover won again. All USC fans care about this game, and to imply differently is just stupid!
Assuming CO gets thrashed by WA ‘if’ the powers that be elect to place WA unto the ‘final four’ they’ll get trampled there.
The Rose Bowl will be a great match up if MI comes west
against USC and it will also place a magnifying glass on Helton preparation up against Harbaugh
That game Nilsson ratings will equal and surpass any other bowl
The M defense is the real deal. Not as sold on their offense though.
We’ll eat the MICH QB alive if he shows up in Pasadena.
If USC were to win it would be the making of Helton in the eyes of his naysayers.
Defeating MI and Harbaugh esp. after Harbaugh felt he was jobbed by the officials today and against USC – man what a game that will be.
There are some that will not give him his due and are waiting for him to falter. They give no credit when owed & use singular results to,justify their conclusions—ignoring those results that don’t fit their narrative. Do I think CH is top tier? Not at this time, and he may never get there. But I think he has earned a bit of slack and given the opportunity to not have every single game be treated as a referendum on his fitness.
Yeah well ‘JackB’ is one of them
Jack B can defend himself. But I think he is a bit more objective & even minded than you give him credit for.
So let’s Recruit On! Bring in the Big Uglies please! That’s what we need to fully unleash the awesome skill we so often have.
Had more fun watching Adoree fully destroy ND than anything else this season. Dude is just a man among boys and has a flair for the big play that I haven’t seen since A.D.
Too bad he won’t even get to New York for the Heisman ceremony since it’ll be UW vs CU, two teams we beat, playing for the title.
Strange year. Bet we still get the Rose Bowl.
I hope this is the beginning of a true Helton era. That he can land a top 10 recruiting class much like he did last year and restore stability and championship caliber football to the land of Troy. He is a good man and deserves success.
I’m all for the dude. Team’s happy, we beat all our rivals except STAN, we’ve got a Heisman QB candidate coming back and both ND and ucla are the dregs of the college football world. Life is good. Not perfect, but good.
ND definitely gave us their best shot and we humbled them.
only a fukin trranny would cheear for another Holiday Bowl. how stupid do those trranny drugs leave your puny mind?
LOVE IT! only USC could win 10 straight, have the 3 best players in the country, and end up in the Holiday Bowl again!
#Dumbbells
#GoBuffs
We won 8 straight, idiot
#Drumpfinyourpants
y ahoo is reporting Brian Kelly is ‘exploring other possibilities’ but denying it has anything to do with the abysmal 4 – 8.
BTW how long for Mora?
Scott, you have too much of a soccer brain. This game always matters because the s is the largest game of all time. You are talking about 90 years of play against each other, the Heisman, championships, all Americans, start of joe montana’s career, Marcus Allen, and other players. Nd brought a hero and made people love nd back in the Midwest. It doesn’t matter what the record is, when USC and nd match up, the entire nation pays attention because they know it is THE GAME. Their is no other game as important than USC vs nd
Ohio State – Michigan is THE marquee game every year, then USC – ND. Honestly
David, I respectfully disagree. The two states are next to each other. Yet, USC and nd bring the entire nation together because nd represents the Mideast to east coast and USC representing the west. Living out on the west coast, I hear about the mich. Ohio st game and the next day I don’t hear anything and yet I ihear about the nd game for a long time.
That’s cool, I’m a SC alum and I just see Ohio-Michigan as a bigger game, with conference championship implications most years. Which game was more significant today?
You want BIG? Try Alabama – Auburn.
Not this year. 2016 belonged to the Ohio St-Michigan game, but most years that is not true.
Obviously OSU-Michigan. And they now have two top programs so it will matter more the foreseeable future.
At least this year. Not SC’s fault the Irish are this bad.
Biggest in the Midwest. And after Ohio St has won 12 of the last 13 years the rivalry seems to be a bit dead. And I bet the SEC folks don’t care about that game. SC-Notre Dame is THE intersectional game
USC’s women in NCAA soccer final heading north to Santa Clara University against either Georgetown or Santa Clara Univ. this coming Friday 2nd December – same day as the Pac-12 CCG
kudos to NO for showing toughness! look at the Trojan squirming like a bug! a Domer would never show pain,
USC just hammered the cheating Domers into Palookaville.
Even purple-faced Kelly wants out of the bleak future of football in South Bend.
Bye bye Irish. Another year that today’s recruits wonder why ND thinks it’s so hot when in today’s world of college football, it’s irrelevant except for players with imaginary girlfriends.
BUFFS WIN!!!!!
#AnotherHolidayBowl
Shtoink, no Championship game for the bozo’s, and it’s got to sting, because bozo u defeated both teams meeting for the P-12 Championship. LOL.
Only a bruin fan would jump on USC site after completing a 4-8 season. Including a thrashing at home from USC.
#SADLIFE
No sting, JustOwned. Only a Jerk Weed Bruin Troll, that’s you, JO, would dare comment on SW’s Blog unless “The Weed” wants to pour out PRAISE FOR LA’S OWN, THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA TROJANS. Give it your best, then head out……….
looks like your Creative Writing 101 class at chucko state isn’t going so well…
Colorado did what we couldn. Beat Stanford and Utah
Glad I was able to make this one. We were soaked in the rain, but it was worth it. ADOREE JACKSON had a HISTORICAL game, one for the ages. We stayed focus on the task at hand and smashed the Irish. Back to AJAX, he played and looked like #5 out there today. Great effort from the DLINE also. Awesome to beat the Domers!!! USC IS ON FIRE!!!
Where do you think we’re headed?
Ducks need a HC.. Reports they are firing him!
The oficiating was really bad today. #99 should have been trown out of the game.
“Who really cares about this game?”
Are you kidding me? Everybody that calls themselves a Trojan cares about any Notre Dame game.
